I'm 78,and grew up in a military family. The absolutely weirdest, creepiest, strangest military guys I knew as a child were the dads of my friends who worked as a tight clique in "R&D" at Edwards AFB.Their behavior was secretive and weird, not normal, even to us children. All of us (even their own kids) felt this, and knew they were not to be messed with. It was like they had scary secrets--all of them had bad tempers, were impatient, and were not really connected to their families. I never saw any of them ever smile or be pleasant or cordial. They all drank, and I felt and sometimes saw that their wives were terrified of them.

I worked with this guy on a construction job site who use to be in MP in military. He told me a story where he was on night guard duty watching cameras( I can’t remember what base) and saw what he said could only be a Bigfoot. He contacted his commanding officer and showed him the camera with the Bigfoot still on it. His commanding officer told him to contact any soldiers in the area and have them leave the area and when the Bigfoot leaves send them back, also when it was all over not to talk about it to anybody. He also mentioned to him that he would probably see it again and if he did he was to do the same thing. He mentioned it happened to him two more times after that. He also asked his commanding officer why they don’t tell people about this and his commanding officer told him that they aren’t there to “hunt Bigfoot” but to do their job. He didn’t say anything about space ships.

To be realistic about this, whether or not they are real, while enlisted you don't report or talk about paranormal stuff simply because the chain of command will immediately assume you are mentally ill, possibly service related, and with that will come mental health evaluations, a major blow to your military career permanently being labeled as that crazy guy, and possibly being discharged.
As to why you don't engage them, well imagine telling your commanders yeah we saw a Bigfoot so we opened up on it. Look to the previous point for how this will play out. Also rules of engagement and international treaties.

My grandfather briefly worked here while serving in the Airforce as a Lt. Col in the late 60s, early 70s. He spent some time working the night shift where it was quiet and rather uneventful but described getting eerie vibes from it. He told me a story one time about a phone call he got from someone on the ground about a UFO sighting over the base. When he tried to contact higher command about it, they dismissed it and told him to report the personnel on the ground as drunk. Love to hear other stories now coming out from this base. I always believed there was more going on. Wish I could show him this video. Love you grandpa.

You'd think when there are unidentified creatures freely roaming your top security installation then that's a clear sign that the installation is anything but secured. Grew up on the base, still live in the area. Out towards the less populated areas and stretches of desert with no one, you see alot of odd things. Lights in the sky, shapes in the dark, etc. Even skeptics here teach their kids to have a healthy respect for the land. As a teen, I got a little cocky and wandered a patch of desert at night. I was mainly just bored tossing sticks and rocks. Then I saw a big humanoid shape stand up from a bush I threw. Could have just been some big person but the quiet, tranquil vibe of an empty field turned cold. I got that feeling of being somewhere I shouldn't. I didn't wait to see what happened. I ran as fast as I could to my home and didn't leave my house the entire weekend, not even to take the trash out. Haven't gone into any desert field out here since.

When they get older they can go blind and rely on staying with theyre herd to get around. Since they usually walk the same trails their whole life, and their pretty damn intellegent, you can barely tell until night time. When you point a spot light or something like that, they usually look directly at it, since its super bright i assume they can barely see it and are like "what the hell" and they'll stop dead, and the light bounces off their eyes blue and green. When I was young I spent months down in the desert hunting and fishing the aqueducts around Edwards and spent many nights out there. This was not long after Vietnam, so I was hanging out with a lot of Veterans there. Later I moved there for about a year and a half and even later in my true adult life I worked on Edwards Air Force base itself. I saw and encountered a lot of very strange things and people throughout those years in the desert. It's a different world there, way more so at night. On eye shine at night, it wasn't something I truly realized until a couple years ago when I took in an ex-military working dog with two different colored eyes. (heterochromia.) A blue colored eye reflects red, a brown colored eye reflects blue, at least in canids. Always a thumbs up from me Wartime Stories. 👍

My brother in law currently works on Edward’s AFB as a government contractor…so for safety purposes we will keep his name unknown. He said, that when he was a newly hired employee, in their briefing they were told that there are many unexplained sightings of flying objects in the sky and unknown creatures that roam the desert area of the base. Of course he knew to “read between the lines “
They were to report to their immediate supervisor or the base military police for further instructions. He also knew that whatever happens on this base, is always confidential information.
So I asked him “have you had any of these experiences with the unknown goings on, on base?” He got quiet for a second, I could tell he was thinking real hard on what to say. His reply was this “ I won’t say yes and I won’t say no, but I will say, that whatever you heard or knew regarding what you may have heard about any weird incidents that occur on base are NOT fairytale’s. And then our conversation ended. He would not tell me anymore. I got the gest brother. lol 👽🦶🏾👾

We were told in no uncertain terms that you leave the wildlife alone unless you were attacked and even then, you had better not have provoked the animal.
Needless to say, that would obviously lure secretive creatures and keep them in the area.

I’ve always heard these stories about BF crossing the desert with a lot of the reports happening in 73. I always thought they were taking a short cut to the San Gabriel’s. I can see how that may be a better way to go than traversing the mtn ranges at night. My guess the question now would be who’s seen these nowadays? Are they still crossing because if they are I’d think they’d be going north now.

I remember, I was seeing signs for the base as I was driving. I could see the silhouette of a massive mountain on the horizon with the last glimmers of sunlight disappearing. My Wife and Sister were asleep as we had been driving for a while. I suddenly noticed these green lights flying around this mountain top. I immediately assumed I was seeing some kind of military drones or aircraft. All of a sudden, the lights started to split into other lights. Some were hovering, some were acting like flares but not falling to the ground like a flare would. All of a sudden a couple of the lights moved at a ridiculously fast speed from one mountain to another mountain. I awoke my Wife and Sister to make sure I wasn't crazy. We watched the lights doing amazing and crazy things for as long as we could. I had to keep my eyes on the road and keep driving and eventually they were out of sight.

Her most adamant theory was that aliens and cryptids aren't one and the same. She believed aliens were studying the supernatural on Earth just the same as we were and unlike most of humanity, they weren't skeptical. This was why UFO activity is common in areas where non-UFO related cryptids are encountered. I think at one point she had about 400 different encounters in the southwestern US alone sorted between alien and cryptid. It's honestly a shame that some of her theories are starting to make sense a decade later.

My father finished his career in the AF at Edwards as a Air Policemen and we lived in Palmdale for most of my childhood. When I was a young adult some of my friends and I went camping in the foothills on the outskirts of the Antelope Valley near Lake Hughes and had an interesting night once to say the least. We had cooked and drank and I was the only one that was sober enough to stay alert through the night, at about 2am I heard something walk (what seemed to be on two feet) down a hill on the backside of our camp and basically followed the sound in my tent as it walked through our camp. My buddy that forgot his tent slept on the bench at the site and whatever it was seemed to walk up to him and examine my friend as he slept for a good 2 minutes. I raised my rifle in the event something was to happen and as I charged the weapon whatever it was must of heard me and it walked off in a hurry down the embankment towards the creek. I stayed awake the rest of the night and at first light I woke everyone up and told them what I heard, as I am telling them the story we find big foot prints in the dirt through the camp where I heard it walk down the hill. We grabbed our gear and tracked it for 4+ miles before losing the tracks on the side of a mountain. We made light of it, making fun of my friend saying he almost became a Bigfoot husband. I had told my father the story a few weeks later and he had said that there was plenty of evidence to back up the claims as he had his own "experiences" while on patrol out at Edwards with many different aspects of the unknown and they were told not to speak of any of it ever. Apparently everything near the sierra Nevada mountain range is full of mysteries and monsters... just had to share, thank you for your content.

I was undergoing S.E.R.E training, and some of it was spent by myself out in the scrub hiding and evading the instructors trying to capture us. Without going into too much detail I believe something got very close to where I was hiding the first night that I originally thought was one of the instructors...until in SNIFFED and then very quietly rumbled before moving away. I've spent enough of my life around animals and in the wilderness to know what a bipedal gait sounds like compared to a quadrapedal gait. Whatever got close to me was on two feet the entire time. I've always thought that a bigfoot was in our training area, smelled me, alerted to my presence, then left.

These creatures play a big role in Native American folklore. Each language calls them different names but we all know them. And yes, I've seen one a single time, and heard them many other times. There does seem to be strange things in the sky when ice had those experiences. I am in rural western South Carolina.

I'm from Missouri. Lived here all my life. I've heard of Momo, but never had an experience of my own. Even though I spent a LOT of time in the woods in the Ozarks, where my mother's family lived. But what people have to understand is just how much forest there is here. The Mark Twain National Forest alone is 1.5 MILLION acres. And the Ozarks are even bigger. Creeks, streams, ponds and lakes abound here. Maybe one day I'll see one.

I grew up and live in east TN and encountered something i can only assume is a bigfoot when i was 7. I feel for anyone who has the displeasure of running into one of these creatures. I had trouble dealing with it as a child and was scared if i told anyone that it would come back and get me and take me away. I cant imagine having an encounter as an adult as i think it would be much harder to get over and accept. Even tho i only encountered it once, i dont go anywhere unarmed and i watch my back constantly while in the woods. We had a few strange things happen on the farm where we lived once before and twice after i had the encounter but never another sighting of the creature. The things that go thru ur mind when seeing these things r really terrifying. U immediatley realize just what that thing is capable of doing to u if it wants to, everything from ripping u in half to taking u and doing things that rhyme with grape. The one i saw was male and from what i saw, it was very excited to see me even tho i didnt know what it meant as a kid and it was very human like but much, much bigger. My encounter also happened around 4 in the afternoon, maybe 430 as it was right before supper. I hope i never see that thing again.

That would be some headline: bigfoot is not only proven to exist... but is also a p*ado 😂😂
Are you sure what you witnessed as a child wasn't just a pervert in a bigfoot suit? It would provide, in a sadistic way, concealment of their identity and be so terrifying for the victim that they would not speak about it if told by the "creature".
Either way, you still sound traumatised by it. Consider therapy, but I agree with you to always carry in the wilderness. You just never know. And I am a Brit!

Just came from my land about 25mi north of Caribou, Maine. You can look it up on a map if you want. It's pretty much the middle of nowhere northeastern Maine... I own quite a large lot next to a bunch of unorganized territory meaning it's pure wilderness about a stone's throw from Canada. We went out at night my girlfriend and I left the motel at midnight to check out the stars. I mean there's little to no light pollution up there pretty awesome probably some of the best sky in the Northeast.
Now there was no one else out there there are houses here in there but they're miles apart and everyone really keeps quiet. Well mostly everyone.
We heard this moaning wailing howl and it wasn't anything that was a coyote or any other creature not even a wolf. My friend said it could have been a moose and I did think of that but it didn't sound like a moose call at all not even a moose and I've been around plenty of moose. Moose that are dying moose that are pissed off moose that have been hit by a vehicle. Wasn't anything like that. It was that sound. I think you know the sound I'm talking about. A version of it played briefly at the beginning of this video. It went on for about 10 minutes and we recorded some of it.
I'll tell you what I haven't had goosebumps and felt fear like that in a long long time. I kept looking at my girlfriend saying What do you think it is? What do you think it is? She couldn't deny it I mean she's a believer in most things but she's also skeptical of some shit more like she questions everything which is what we should all do and she didn't know what to say It was pretty cool.

I was an MP during my time in and would like to offer some insight on that last bit by the 'security grunt' (dork). Most of the installations the military has are very stricy when it comes to hunting and generally do not allow firearms hunting on base, it is almost exclusively restricted to bows; they also follow very strict seasons for hunting certain animals and if you're caught hinting an animal not in season you get a hell of a fine. The reason I'm blabbing on about this is because when you patrol bases at night like I used to do, you become aware pretty quickly of just how mich wildlife resides on or around bases simply because they've found over time that these areas are about as safe as you can be as huntable wildlife. They mostly come out at night as bases are a bustle of activity during the day but dead quiet at night. My guess is since its a base that test aircraft and it's the AF there is no training area and few if any hunters (Air Force + Desert) and so have deemed the areas inside the perimeter safe to inhabit. This has the added benefit of making them very cocky, I can't tell you how many times I patrolled a perimeter fence in Europe only to be stopped for five minutes because some deer decided he didn't feel like moving.

I was stationed on Guam with a few folks that had previously been stationed at Edwards. I remember at least one of them telling me "Blue Eyes" stories. One was the story about the door getting ripped off the hinges. Another guy told me how there were allegedly tunnels in the desert on Edwards that led to Area 51. There were plenty of ghost stories on Guam (Andersen AFB). I was also stationed in Wyoming (FE Warren AFB) and there were many paranormal tales there. The FE stories were my favorite.
