I'd love to see Don Rosa in the us since the lines are dreadfully long here. I have an entire stack of comic books with your work in my book case and a whole bunch of stickers and two posters of your artwork. Thank you for making this, you are by far one of the two greatest comic book artists, the other being Carl Barks himself
There'd be no Don without Barks. Most posit Don as being "better" simply because his drawings are more intricate. However, that doesn't necessarily make the work better. Art within a comic can be as highly detailed as possible... but if the characterization and storytelling stink, then you've ultimately got nothing. Barks, however, was a fantastic writer and artist. His stories were not only well-paced, but anyone of nearly any age could sit down and easily understand what was happening in the story. A great writer makes their stories easily engaging and accessible, and Barks did that so well.
I am kind of sorry to hear Don says that Finland is the country where his greatest fans live.. His greatest fans live everywhere in the world, it is just that in Finland there are just so many. Calling the Fins his greatest fans kind of discredits his fans in other places.
Maybe it does not mean that other fans are bad or there is no actually. If you compare the population of the country and then the commitment of the fans in that specific country maybe that ratio is the highest in Finland. I saw an interview with Don and Tuomas Holopainen (Nightwish master mind) who is a Finn and a big fan. He composed a tribute album full of awesome music about Duck tales and including Don there. Generally Don sees that good and devoted duck fans are in Europe instead of the States.
