Good video. Bought my 1st Canik about 20 months ago. Fast forward, 6 Caniks & over 37K rounds later & no issues, I trust & use them as my EDC & competition guns. 👍
I own the TP9SF, SFX, ELITE, ELITE SC, and I shoot in competitions at my local FFL Parma Armory in Parma OH. I work way too much to travel to do any competitions so I'm kind of relegated to local competitions, that said, I've killed guys that that use CZs, Sigs, Sphynx, Dan Wesson's, all kinds of other race guns. I used it run my re-qualifications for the last 3 years, and hit 100 out of 100, and carry the ELITE SC as my backup. While I love my Sigs and M&Ps, I can't say enough about the Canik TP9 line. Drank the water a few years ago and have been hooked ever since.
After keep hearing this Canik name over and over again I decided to do a research of my own to find out more about this firearm. And honestly I haven't found or heard any valid dislike about this handgun. The only people who complained about it were the ones that follow and practice politics like a religion. And their real dislike was that this gun was made in Turkey. But what can I say, lack of education and observation almost always led to bad decisions in history. That being said, I went ahead and ordered me one of these TP9SF One Series handgun. I just got it and haven't had a chance to take it to range yet. Nonetheless, from ergonomics stand point I already like this Canik TP9SF over my IWI Jericho 941 PSL9. My biggest problem with the Jericho is that its charging handle is very thin (hard to grab) and it's super hard to pull. So the combination of those two drawbacks easly make me choose this TP9SF over that handgun. Thanks for the review.
I haven't had any issue with mags dropping freely. Everything about the TP9 feels like a $500-600 gun to me. It's only cheap because it's from Turkey, and borrowed a lot of engineering from the Walther P99. This isn't really a budget pistol. It just happens to be cheap for the reasons I mentioned.
I just picked one up today. I’ve been on the lookout for this exact gun and can rarely find a Canik. I was ammo shopping for my AR and my local outdoor sportsman had one. I asked the guy to let me check it out, it was only 285, I asked how many in stock, as he was looking it up a guy down the counter by him asked if it was a Canik then asked how many. Guy said only display model and I made the decision to buy it. The other guy came up and said , if I wasn’t buying it he was. And then rattled off the 5 other TPSF9 models he owned and said they are awesome guns. Btw, I tested this reviewers complaint about the mag not dropping when cold, I have no problem with mine. It spits out as soon as the release is triggered.
When loaded with 18rds of 9mm the mags fall freely no problem.found mine for 200bux used.century arms has parts and accesories, plus their customer service has gotten much better than it used to be if that helps anyone decide to pick one up or not.1000rds and not one hiccup.good firearm for price.
Great review. I had the tungsten elite and sold it. Not sure why, I had 5000 rounds through it without a hiccup. The elite one came along and it was a no brainer for me. I am 1000 rounds into it and I have yet to have a failure.
Totally agree. It's like he's just reviewing it because someone asked him to. I am buying this gun within the next couple weeks to be my primary. I have watched dozens of videos and this is the first that it was NOT a gun the reviewer WOULD buy.
I'm sorta "old school" and prefer hammer fired autos. Example: Sig P229, 236, CZ P01 etc. etc. But do shoot polymer striker fired pistols and choose the Sig P320 compact as my edc. The Canik tp9sf has been a surprise. It's a good shooter and reliable. Aprox. 2000 rds and no issues. It's a good polymer pistol and a great choice.
I'm glad you're back! I really enjoy your unique police/Army perspective and your review style. I'm a drill sergeant stationed at Presidio of Monterey, so I get my gun fix through your reviews. I'm interested in your take on the Canik TP9SF Elite Combat. Any chance you'll pick one up at some point?
Carlos Danger Canik would still be my choice. They have exceptional triggers and come packaged with more accessories than most other brands. For the price you just can’t beat a Canik.
Exactly Frank good sir!! I have the tp9sfelite one series and it was so awesome I went out and bought the full size tp9sf. The pistols really are great quality for the price lets just hope they don't put quantity of quality and keep it that way
Im a sig fan! Straight up i love sig they awesome. But i will be getting a canik. My buddy has one n its awesome. Very accurate, light trigger, reset is so short i double tap on accident. Side by side he out shoots my group everytime
I'm confused a bit.... @1:44 you say you don't get into the "political stuff", but then go on a political voyage until roughly 2:50 in... lol. And then even say it influences your review. That makes me very confused. First, you said politics will not weigh in to the review, then you say they absolutely will. hmm. I'm totally lost by this point! dude!
I just purchased the Canik tp9sf as my very first gun. I looked at Glocks to start and thought I was leaning towards a Springfield XD but, I fell in love with the Canik after trying it. It felt better than the rest and while this may be attributed to my lack of experience I'm happy with my choice. It's low price certainly helped but had it been the same price as the XD I still would have gone with the tp9 in the end.
I recently purchased the TP9 SFX ($461) and the TP9 SF Elite ($299) and just got back from the range shooting both of them. I put about 200-300 rounds through the SFX and had only ONE bullet not feed. Other than that not one other issue. Fired great, felt great to shoot and for me, an amateur shooter that doesn't know much about guns, a decent pattern. The Elite I put about 150-200 maybe more rounds through it and NOT ONE issue. Fired great and it feels better to me than the SFX. Triggers on both are awesome!! Right out of the case at 10 yards with the Elite a very good grouping. I would highly recommend these guns. The Elite will be my EDC. Now just to find a holster and get better at my groupings.
Glocks are overrated. Once Glock's patent expired, different gun manufacturers redesigned the striker-fired polymer frame platform as good, and some others better than Glocks. Case in point: CANIK pistols.

I was hoping you'd review a canik I love them picking up my elite SC tomorrow cannt wait, never mix your guns with politics jay. Sweet review though brotha
About the magazine not dropping free, I think it's an issue that affects your gun specifically or, perhaps, I've been lucky? On my Tp9 SF, both magazines that came with the gun, drop free. Oh, and I noticed during your shooting session, your magazine dropped free right in your hand...
I have the SA with de cocker and my has the sfl. Love them. Fight out of the box super accurate. Mags drop perfectly. My wife’s ran perfect until about 300 rounds. Then a lot of cycling issues. Tried124 grain NATO. Same shit. Then we found out Century arms the importer will send you a slide rod and softer spring for free. It’s a captured spring all in one unit. Problem solved.

Just bought a CANIK TP9SF the mags drop free empty no problem with mine it comes with Mec Gar magazines and warren tactical steel sights and a superb trigger overall a bargain I bought many Ruger p95 pistols and still have one today and it is reliable and Mec Gar is making magazines for it 15 - 17 - 20 round it was a bargain pistol also.
First person ive heard pronounce it correctly just got one not to long ago nice gun for an even 300 mines drop magazines like greased owl shit though i wouldve taken it back if it didnt
Honestly just keep doing practice reloads and it will drop free soon after. Mine didn't have that problem. I felt like you were decently harsh on it. Its $300 for an is9000 rated pistol is great. You can go to war with the thing.
I hear hi points are very reliable but man that slide is HUGE .. I am curious about the tp9sf though.. rrrr .. I don't know about longevity but the taurus g3 is 100 percent reliable .. soft shooting.. and I think a very good trigger for even less money.. hmmmm
Hi-points are surprisingly not bad from what i know if you can get around the design...imo. Although, it would not be my everyday carry. My next will be this Canik. Proven 60k round tests
For giving it a bad review you sure couldn’t put it down the whole video. Looks to me that you know this gun is better than the Glock and cheaper you just couldn’t come to grip to excepting it And by the way I own one and it’s amazing I don’t have any of the problems you mentioned on this video.
I look forward to your reviews. Respect your opinions (especially in that you are not reluctant to voice them, in an intelligent, well-spoken fashion.... An overlooked component of video presentations) Objectively speaking....the country of manufacture/origin should have nothing to do with a review...though obviously, some choose to make it a point of contention. My answer: JUST DON"T BUY IT, as your opinion with regards to WHERE, is essential irrelevant to whether or not the pistol is of quality or not.
I just bought one n like it better than my m&p n its way better than my glock 19 gen 5 not really a fan of the glock anyway but sounds like this guy can't see a good gun when it's right in front of his face n yes I would trust my life with the canik just passed 1000 rds n not one problem yet n the mags fall right out
The true pronunciation of this gun is Ja-nik.... I thought the same thing originally when I started researching this gun. Guess its the way the Turks say it
Demonetization has hurt a lot of gun channels. I do know a lot of guys have had success with Patreon. It looks like based on your the number of likes and comments you have, that might be an option if you wanted to pursue it. I’d be willing to help out.
It would've been nicer if you kept your review strictly about the gun, leaving the politics out of it. You clearly don't know what you talking in that front.
"Why would somebody buy a Hi-Point when there is something like this?" -- Hi-Point will be here, and their service will take care of you. With the current political situation, will Canik? Also, Hi-Point is manufactured in the US, and for some people that may be enough in the battle of the bottom shelvers.
Never mix your politics with your guns dude caniks pistols are awesome & there customer service is grade A also they will have American locations soon enough
Concern over service availability in the future is a legitimate concern. BTW, my views do not come into it since I own neither. Also, since I own a CZ, clearly I do not mind foreign-made products.
There is a reason Glocks are the #1 weapon of law enforcement and sell as they do, that said I agree about the sights. The barrel is only relevant if your shooting cast bullets. I do because of bears,
Glocks are the #1 weapon of law enforcement because the decision is made by people who only consider cost and popularity. Reliability, shootability, and grip angle don't matter to people who write the checks. Glock lost the military contract.

My answer: JUST DON"T BUY IT, as your opinion with regards to WHERE, is essential irrelevant to whether or not the pistol is of quality or not.
I just bought one n like it better than my m&p n its way better than my glock 19 gen 5 not really a fan of the glock anyway but sounds like this guy can't see a good gun when it's right in front of his face n yes I would trust my life with the canik just passed 1000 rds n not one problem yet n the mags fall right out
Next on my list. I'm a Springfield Armory guy, but Canik is proven 60k rounds...wowzers
Roger is RUclips famous
He deserves it. His son is a weirdo and he has to deal with that on the back side.
I agree totally. But his son is Rain Man weird or Forest Gump weird, so he’s oddly charming.
Why do you not pronounce it as “can-ik” ?
The true pronunciation of this gun is Ja-nik.... I thought the same thing originally when I started researching this gun. Guess its the way the Turks say it
In English is pronounced: CANIK.
I understand your concerns with Turkey but Turkey is a member of NATO
it's a pity your channel was not allowed to grow with all the demonetisation and youtube's ideological crap. you had some pretty decent videos!
The best budget pistol is a glock LE trade in .40...
Touché
.40 is dead. Lol
All the Leo ones I bought have 9mm barrels in them now and all run great.
Jeff don’t you have to put a 9 mil extractor in too? I can’t remember
@@cosmolinefiend9853 you don't HAVE to put in the 9mm extractor but it's a good idea if you're gonna carry it. Reduces the potential margin of error.
But! If something breaks they do not have any real customer service for warranty. Traded my p.o.s. For 2000 rounds
Demonetization has hurt a lot of gun channels. I do know a lot of guys have had success with Patreon. It looks like based on your the number of likes and comments you have, that might be an option if you wanted to pursue it. I’d be willing to help out.
101 says it needs a flat trigger 😵😵
🤮
Did he say buy this instead of high point. No shit!!! WTF
if your gonna talk shit about this gun,go check out MikePapaKilo's 10000 round review on this gun then later talk about it..
Image of gun too far
This guy is a glockster for sure, very obvious
Haha
Canik is a private company that has NOTHING to do with the Turkish government.
They just happen to be located in Turkey.
@Cosmoline Fiend "Canik is a private company that has NOTHING to do with the Turkish government." -- Please point to where I implied otherwise.
Save your money and buy a Glock
Kodeeni - ridiculous. Glocks need a barrel, the plastic sights swapped out and the trigger replaced.
There is a reason Glocks are the #1 weapon of law enforcement and sell as they do, that said I agree about the sights. The barrel is only relevant if your shooting cast bullets. I do because of bears,
A cop told me in person my gun is a glock killer this week i want to put a sight on it and a lazer
shots shots I’d skip the laser, get good Trijicon HD sights, easy to pick up during the day and bright at night
Glocks are the #1 weapon of law enforcement because the decision is made by people who only consider cost and popularity. Reliability, shootability, and grip angle don't matter to people who write the checks. Glock lost the military contract.
Don't buy Turkish.
