I wish I had watched this before cause I always struggle with the airline tubbing getting on that nipple and having the filter falling into the tank, bypassing it is way easier great tip if this video.
the reason youre getting those side bubbles is you have the air stone to low in the filter. I know you get better suction that way but it not that much more...

Modified all m8ne not like that though they work great.dont forget ya check valve
