Revisiting 2 of my Aquariums
Просмотров 29614 дней назад
Just a good point cyprochromis I do believe will do better in a species only tank perhaps with some shell dwellers on the bottom long as it's a long enough large enough tall enough tank but dwarf rainbow fish will do great in a community lake Tanganyika tank as long as you got common tanganyika cichlids like mentioning this video your aquarium should be fine I pick them as my top choice for tan...
Aquarium heater can make or break the Bank$$

Buying a quality heater is always good I have gotten by buying cheap ones but they are hit or miss also please don't forget about water flow in your tank that will help your heaters out

Heated bottled waters battery operated or USB charge air pumps buckets for filtration if necessary and also battery power lights if it's necessary to keep your plants going and skip at least 2 days feeding your fish 3rd day feed lightly and then feed lightly every other day and then if your electricity is not on in a week or so do a small water change add some prime or seachen safe and continue...
Finally Got My Hands On the Seachem Tidal 110
Просмотров 397Месяц назад
I love this filter but just know that after it does get clogged up you will have some bypass not a complete bypass but it will keep pumping it is very snail resistant which I love probably not a such thing as a perfect filter but this is a mighty good one in my opinion
My Favorite 🐌 Snails
Просмотров 56Месяц назад
Some people call them pests I call them helpful Friends These are my favorites. There are many to choose most are peaceful but there are some snails that can be truly predatory. So please do your research b/c Some can get VERY LARGE
The Seachem Tidal is the clear winner!! updates on AquaClear 70 filter

In my opinion the Seachem Tidal takes the crown and absolute beast has never stopped working and continues to do the job I wish I could say the same for this Aqua clear

Setting up a Quick Quarantine Tank(info in Description)
Просмотров 1232 месяца назад
Items that you will need I would suggest a glass aquarium according to the size of fish that you are quarantining. A heater a lid ,filter with seeded bio media some kind of light doesn't have to be an aquarium light just a light so you can see your fish. I would not suggest depending on just ambient light from your room or window You need a good light so you can see your fish to make sure they ...

Awesome Hack Filter Build #2
Просмотров 3632 месяца назад
This is one of the best filter builds I have done. I have built this filter before in the past many times but I wanted to demonstrate how I did this one it's really effective it can be used in any tank I think the black body of the filter is really good for the growth of beneficial bacteria according to your size and the size of your pump enjoy the video
Is it possible to keep shrimp and betta fish together?
Просмотров 5212 месяца назад
Yes in my opinion it is totally possible to keep these two together if you're set up is right lots of plant cover let the shrimp be introduced first for about 3 months then introduce your betta. This give your plants time to grow and your shrimp time to breed so the longer you go without adding a betta fish first the better so even up to 6 months would not hurt then you will have a fully active...
should I trade my Seachem tidal for the new Aquaclear filters?

The information applies to all series in these filter and also I meant to say that the prefilter that comes with the aquaClear is too fine for me

When I clean my Tidal 110 filter and place it back on the tank it's supposed to self prime itself but it will not self prime and start filling with water from the tank ? What can you do to trouble shoot this .
Not for sure how to hack this one Make sure that your water level is all the way up past the mark so that it can self prime so sorry to hear that
$72 seems about right for shipping these days from a lot of places. I just paid $97 from Beantown down in Texas shipped up to me in Wisconsin.
Yeah this video is a little old but the last time I checked live fish direct was 55$ unlimited fish
@ I wonder if the higher sales volume breeders have negotiated rates with UPS/FedEx. I don't know if these smaller breeders have that ability and I don't think they are making money off upcharging S&H. Anyways, good shout and thanks for making the vid, you have a new subscriber 🤝
Hi Marcus, I’m taking down my 29 gallon. Mainly to change out gravel. Have you ever used gravel from Home Depot or Lowes? Thanks
Yes, I have. Are you getting pea gravel? If so, pea gravel is pea gravel. The only difference is the price and size of the bag, so you will get a bigger dirtier bag at your local hardware store, so wash it well
@ Thanks! if you use it that works for me . Going to be 75 degrees here in Charlotte tomorrow so no excuses to take it out and clean it. I’m going with either guppies or very small tetras. A few mystery snails ( never was successful with Nerite). And a lot of guppy grass. I have an enormous anubias.
Thats crazy spend the extra $. Im using AquaEl..
Looks like your holding that third dimension
Thank you, Marcus! What a nice little store. It is wonderful when a store owner will order in things you want if they don't have it on store!
Thank you
Looks like my kind of fish store.
😂 I thought it was just me. I cleaned the impeller and greased it and it started back up. I thought maybe it was because it was on a salt water tank for a couple weeks and got some salt creep.
Yeah well we expect a quality filter not to this and we should not have to take it a part and try to figure out what's wrong with it bad quality control if you ask me
No doubt tidal by far the most reliable HOB filter
I second that without a doubt
the only dawn side is water by bass in some cases
Cada cuanto tienpo hay que canviar la esponja del filtro
Me too
Your right
I put more sponges in it and seachem Matrix is in both filters
I got both aqua clear 110. And got a 110 tidal my tidal 110 is in my 55gal. And the other is in a 80gal
I got both . Both work good. I got the tidal 110. I like it
I got both . Both work good. I got the tidal 110.
Use seachem Matrix
No don't change the tidal. The tidal works great
Always learning from your channel. Ironically I’m consuming garlic to fight off a nasty cold.
Love my skimmer on my 55
Plants are outstanding. Beautiful.
Thank you for addressing subjects I don’t see elsewhere.
And you're very welcome

great ideas across the Detroit River in Windor
Definitely a cold place thanks for comment
I have to say that in my 48 years, Aqua Clear was always great, yet once I got my 110 Seachem, never one flood flooded the many from the Aqua Clear, causing damage and replacing the basement wall.
Where did you get the blue sponge? This is my 48th year in the fish world having many kinds of fresh since 10, It is Hard to find fish now in Windsor Ontario all our fish stores are closed. Love my copycats the best TY
Your plants and fish look very healthy.
Thanks I try to keep things nice and clean for my fish and plants.
I like the skimmer function. I personally use a motor controller, so I can press a single “ feed “ button to shut the filters down for feeding.
That's a great idea!!!
They are both good filters but the Tidel is a Royal pain to do a deep cleaning on.
What heater do you recommend for a 15 gal tank
@csedits12 fluval m series two 50w heaters or one 100w but two 50w are better b/c of even distribution. Plus, a backup heater. But the 100 W would definitely work. You can even add two 100w or one 50w and one 100w . The same goes Eheim and Aqueon. SIDE note in that small of a tank you can check out some cheaper heaters like Aaq from Amazon. I had some success with them, but they can be a hit or miss And don't forget about a heater controller for added peace of mind.
@ ok I’m probably gonna get one 100w. Thanks a lot!
Yeah, I live in a cold area. I cover the tanks with blankets too when we lose power. Thank you.
Thank you. Liked, subscribed. Interesting about the canister heater.
I think you were talking directly to me when you said to focus on this and don’t be distracted with other projects when you mess with the resin LOL. Me and my son have ADHD and we’re guilty of that.
Lol thank you for the comment Love it 😅
@Aquarium Hacks By Marcus Great power analysis! More watts to you ⚡️✊🏿⚡️
Love that comment 👌
Great information
@anthonywright359 Thank you 👍
I remember when submersible heaters arrived I was very skeptical. I thought I’d definitely get electrocuted. Great content Marcus.
@autumn1231 Thank you for your comment heaters have come a long way from back in the day
Another well done video. Marcus your way of explaining your knowledge is truly inspiring. I’m 68 and had aquariums in my youth. I’ve been binge watching your channel preparing to get back into the hobby.
I surely do appreciate that comment and thank you
What kind a media you got in you searchem Filter??
Sponges and pot scrubbies
Hoping your power stayed on during the storm.
Thank you thankfully ☺️ our power stayed on during the storm
Thank you
You're welcome, glad you found it helpful!
Get one of those USB air pumps and a power pack for charging cell phones. I just tested mine out and it ran for over 24 hours and the battery pack still has 20% battery left. It's one of those little aquarium Co-op USB air pumps. It actually produces a ton of air and can run a large fish tank by itself.
Good point I forgot to mention small cell battery backup packs but I use larger USB air pumps I also forgot to mention you can use a cell phone car chargers to charge up USB air pumps. Thank ya for your input appreciate it
Welcome back from your surgery. I guess everything went well. Very useful information on power outage. I used to get several per year here in North Carolina. Power company buried the lines a few years ago snd its much better.
That's good I wish they would do that here in our area thanks for the comment
Very good information. Thanks for sharing
Thank you very much I appreciate your comment!
Nope Tidal gang forever
Same issue here! I got the new AC50 and have had my pump stop working multiple times. Checked the sponge, siphon in intake tube and basket and could see no reasons for it to stop. Felt the motor and it was warm to the touch. Took it apart and checked the impeller for debris and it was fine. Moved the impeller around, filled the basket with water and plugged it in and it resumed working. I’ve had to do this a few times now and like you don’t trust it anymore. Seems like this is an issue that’s happening to many people but not talked about much yet.
I 100% agree there need to be more talk about this and fluval need to be aware of this awful flaw of course they don't have to worry about me ever buying another one thanks for the input and your comment
The "skimmer feature" on those Tidal's are basically a deal breaker due to how they suck up floating food. I'm finding myself having to turn them off when feeding which is a pain.
Setting it up that way will create a lot of blow by with the tidal, put the scrubbies on the bottom sideways then the matrix then polyfill. I’ve been setting tidals up like this since 2016 it works much better my friend
Thanks for the input. But when I get a chance on my next video.I'm gonna show at least for me.The ultimate way I'm going to set this thing up thank you
had a lot of bypass with my 110 More then I wanted. I drilled more holes in the basker down near and on the bottom. Also blocked the windows in the basket in the front. Like shown here in these mods That stopped the bypass but if you have to keep your media below the top edge or it will run over if the media starts to fill up. Like I said earlier I blocked all the under water slots including the skimmer due to alot of food getting sucked right in. Also the pellets for my gold fish would get kicked back into the front outlet and just dance around. Didn't like that. I guess I could of put a cloth or poly floss in the outlet runway like some do to stop the turbulence but I just pulled them and put in the new AquaClear's. Here is a link to someone who had the same issues and taught me to mod the Tidal proper. He ended up tossing them too. forum.aquariumcoop.com/topic/31753-testing-redux-fixing-the-seachem-tidal-bypass/
The Tidal line is far superior to Aqua Clear. Not only is it a beast at filtering. The build quality is way better. I havent had any problems with the 4 110s i baught 3 years ago.
You couldn't have said it better. Thanks for the comment.
Phenomenal filter. Grabbed one myself and it has made a huge difference on my 75 gal at low flow
Yes indeed I recommend these over most hang on the backs although the price could be a little higher I think in the long run they are better but then again look how expensive the aqua clear filters are and are they worth it? I think a lot of people feelings on that has already been documented lol
Merry Christmas. Speedy recovery with your surgery. I don’t have a Seachem filter yet but that’s the way to go.
Thanks Marcus! I hope your surgery and recovery are speedy!
