Homeless Cleared Out by City. No Laws broken so No Squatter Rights for them.

  • Interviewing Homeless. If the Homeless moved in and stole your home they would be protected and have rights but homeless people who are not breaking any laws against you except maybe a dirty sidewalk of something you don’t want to see have no rights and can be moved out at a moments notice. No resources to help them relocate just the message to break down and leave. Trucks pull away with their stuff and they are left to fend for themselves. People just like animals have a survival instinct and will always rebuild to live no matter what or where it is they must continue on. Here is Anthony from prior squatter interview.

I lived in the shelters in Seattle for a little while, the problem is a lot of these people are so strung out on drugs or mentally ill even if you give them a proper house they will end up destroying it or let it become a trap house.
The problem is a lot of places like here in Seattle they do not give any kind of expectation of drug treatment or counseling they just want to throw people off the streets and into a home or apartment and I think that's going to solve everything. I know that most people on the streets do have issues and there are a decent amount on the streets that do not have issues people without drug and mental issues should get a house people that have drug and mental issues should only get a house with the stipulation that they do a treatment of some sort. Within a month on the streets in the dead of winter I got up earlier than the shelter made us wake up and I look for work and I ended up finding a job repairing computers for Amazon at an undisclosed facility. Immediately I was able to get a used car and a place to live.
Let's face it there are a lot of people on the streets that cannot even handle a regular home without destroying it and bringing bad people around.

Why cant this young man work and support himself? He looks young and healthy. Get two jobs. Learn a trade.
There are people that need assistance. But there is also a huge lack of self reliance and desire to take responsibility for yourself, your decisions and your life.
Back in the day, being homeless, on drugs and welfare was embarrassing. People worked two jobs to support themselves and their families. Now people strive to be dependant on others. There is always an excuse.....race, age, upbringing etc
If there is a will there is a way. There are so many programs available to help people. But you must have desire to improve your life
When i was 8 or so, my dad lost his long term job. He was in his late 40's. No one wanted to hire people his age back then. He struggled for the rest of his life. But he did what he had to do to raise two kids. He never once asked for handouts. He took odd jobs and made it work. Today people expect others to take care of them just because.
I agree that we need to help citizens and stop throwing billions of dollars to other countries and illegals
But our govt hates americans. FJB!

What services do you speak of? So many but yet they aren’t readily accessible. He shares his story in his interview video. Prior drug problem and mental illness. I am not in favor of a free ride but I am in favor of services that help promote change and a second chance boost in life. Shelters that have limited space in isn’t enough. Job? Getting a job without documentation, an address and a prior record isn’t easy and sometimes impossible. My family was homeless as a child and my parents bounced back to provide but we had help that others don’t have. I’m working on that second chance program and will only be successful for those who want to help themselves. Thank you for watching and your comment.

Can you imagine the impact we could make if the government fought as hard for the homeless as they do for the transgenders or the immigrants?

    • @FlashShelton
      @FlashShelton  10 месяцев назад +7

It wouldn’t take much to break the cycle. Many of them would work to earn another chance. I personally took on city parking lot cleanup contracts and hired homeless to do the work. It was a win win for all. They took pride in cleaning up their homes and made some money.

@@FlashShelton Have you ever thought of starting a nonprofit group that offers more of those opportunities for the homeless? I have a friend who started a nonprofit and he gave me the steps on how to do that. I can post them here if you are interested. With the help of social media, you can talk to people in other states to start a branch of your nonprofit. If it grows big enough, maybe it will lead to some real changes.

A lot trans people are homeless because they get discriminated against by bigots like you, and disgarded by their transphobic families. What exactly is the correlation here? Why are you even bringing up trans people and immigrants who have it hard enough? It’s not a zero sum game. The government could help everyone. They choose not to.

As long as it's easier for homeless/addicts to live on the street (w/ food, shelter, drugs, etc.) than change their lives . . . they won't change their lives.

There are resources for the homeless, but, there are numerous reasons why they can’t take advantage of the the resources. Lost id’s, no address, medical needs, lack of communication technology/service. One YT channel that is proactive is JustKnate. I’ve also seen info channels where cities are bldg temporary homeless communities, with case workers available to help with transitioning with success programs. Major difference. You’re doing good work in helping homeowners. And, with your channel, you’re drawing a contrast between the two subtypes. It’s just bigger than one human. We’ve all got to work on it. The first two steps: 1. Recognizing the need.
    2. Overcoming biases.

Not having first hand knowledge of homelessness I cannot offer any solutions. As this homeless man is being interviewed and the garbage truck pulls away the discussion is about what will he do that will solve his housing problem until the city moves him again. Intellectually it would appear this man should obtain sustainable housing. How he does that may seem obvious to me but he is in a cycle of life that doesn’t have an simple exit ramp. The reality is many people are closer to ending up like this man through one bad choice an accident or illness and do not have the resources to survive it. I wish him well and respect him as a person in need. Also, I vote and support legislation that provides social services and aid to people in need.

  • @cadcoke5
    @cadcoke5 8 месяцев назад +2

Foreign aid is not Constitutional. That is not a power granted to the federal government, and the 10th amendment is pretty clear that they cant just assign more powers to themselves.
Regarding the homeless; throwing money at the homeless problem will not solve it. I've been trying to help one homless man, with disability income, for a number of years. And the reality is that when he had b a very low-cost place to stay, he had MUCH more disposable income than I did... it all went to alcohol. You can't force people to give up the drugs or alcohol. You can't force people to make good choices. But, just giving out free housing is not a solution at all, and can even cause the person to get worse if the have any income to spend on drugs.
You have to allow people freedom to choose, but also freedom to suffer the consequences of their choices. What I would like to see, is for cities to allow an area for very minimal living. If they have no income, require some employment from the city, to pay the rent. Perhaps glorified sheds, with a toilet and shower. And perhaps 3 kinds of areas for this, each with different standards. One has significant rules that will get you kicked out that day if you break them (e.g. drugs), so it is actually a safe and pleasant place to be. Then, another level has fewer rules. And finally a 3rd one, where anything goes.

I could easily help with the homeless crisis anywhere I go as I was homeless but but actual fix or at least the best option seems to never be the way that anybody goes

    Psalm 41:1 KJV
"Blessed is he that considereth the poor: the Lord will deliver him in time of trouble."
    Proverbs 21:13 KJV
"Whoso stoppeth his ears at the cry of the poor, he also shall cry himself, but shall not be heard."
They shall call evil good, and good evil. The world is fucked. Upside down.
This is one's only hope ever:
See Isaiah chpt.53 and Psalm 22:16 (even in the Jewish bible) and, Romans 10:9-13 auth.kjv bible.
After salvation: mark 12:30,31 auth.kjv bible.
    Proverbs 19:17 KJV
"He that hath pity upon the poor lendeth unto the Lord ; and that which he hath given will he pay him again."

If one word that someone may find offensive shuts me down and removes my voice was the one word that may have other ways to show the same meaning worth taking my voice away? Clearly I support freedom of speech. Thank you for subscribing and your support.

Are they though? The whole point of this is that they aren’t. So they go and make them take tents down for a few hours, we pay 10-20k on resources to have them pack up for the day. You heard Anthony he is setting back up when they leave. Nothing done to relocate or stop the cycle. It’s pointless to keep going in this circle.
