    hi karen! i just wanted to let you know how much you've helped me and inspired me as i make jewelry! i am an 18 year old artist and i watch your videos during my breaks at school. it's been incredibly helpful to watch your jewelry process from start to finish and get new ideas for projects! i also wanted to mention that i have a tremor as well and it's very helpful to see how you manage yours as you solder. the floral foam is a great idea. i'm excited to see what you make next :)

    Nails are looking very cute! I'm so glad to see you using crystal cup chain. I'm definitely going to give this a try! I have 6 blocks of that floral foam to use up!

    Gorgeous! Reminds of necklaces worn by Czarinas. Couldn't you use Wof Soldering Clay or something like that in place of the floral foam? I saw it used on Ori Workshop's channel.

      @karensintuitivejewelry  28 дней назад +1

      @@sarajanehaven yes you could but with the details in this rhinestone chain it would be a nightmare getting the clay out of all the little grooves! I recently bought the “Hold It” soldering clay & considered it but changed my mind because of that issue! Plus the cost is SUPER expensive ($50 vs $3) especially comparatively speaking from the foam! I’m going to try misting the foam next time to cut down on the dust but the basket I created helped a LOT & really didn’t leave any excessive cleanup of the soldered piece!

    Hi, Karen. I was just wondering, because floral foam is meant to be wet when used, if you sprayed some water on top if that would reduce the shredding of the fibres.

    • @karensintuitivejewelry
      @karensintuitivejewelry  28 дней назад

      @@DeborahBeesley-b4f I’m sure it would & I considered it BUT the water will also act as a coolant possibly affecting the performance of the temperature of the iron & be a “heat sink”. I’m happy with the results of the basket I created tho! The foam can be used either with or without water such as when using it with artificial flowers! The couple artists I’ve seen using the foam used it dry! I appreciate your feedback! 🙏😊🩵

    Is it safe to heat the foam?? 😕

    • @karensintuitivejewelry
      @karensintuitivejewelry  28 дней назад

      @@DebHerzog-mp3jk yes there was no issue with the heat from the iron as you can see with the leftover impression…barely changed the color of the foam! I’ve seen several YT artists using this in their projects without incidents! I will try spraying it with water on my next project just to experiment with the annoyance of the dust but the basket I made reduced that issue immensely!
