As a white belt, I was super confident. I was confident I was going to be beaten, and I was confident I was still coming back tomorrow anyway. That carried me through with ease.

Hey Chewy! I finally started Jiu Jitsu and I fell in love with it right away. Your videos on the jiu jitsu mindset were one of the biggest motivators for me to start training and I'm already feeling the positive effects.

In my 3rd ever BJJ class another white belt posted his hand on my chest and gave me some room to bridge his full mount, I ended up catching him in a textbook arm across leg triangle, I noticed the setup and snagged it immediately, I was so proud
Visibly frustrated, he proceeded to out wrestle me, take my back, and tap me 3x over 😂

Question~. I’m a 25 year old female and I started bjj 4 weeks ago and I AM OBSESSED. Just about all the men are way stronger, quicker, better, and heavier than me. I feel bad asking them to grapple with me since it’s so easy to submit me, but I learn so much when I go against them! I want to know, in your experience is there something beneficial to grappling with someone much weaker than you or is it something the higher belts see as a drag? I’ve been going to the gym at least twice a day so I can learn quickly and not be so much of a burden but I still have such a long way to go. Thank you so much!

I think he kind of answerd your question around 6 min in this video:) also I think that if you have only trained at anything for a few weeks you should alow yourself to just focus on your own development, you will have time to help others later :)
      Good luck!

29 year old female one year into training here! Trust me, you shouldn't feel like a burden at all. Working with someone who is newer and less physically strong gives the guys a chance to test the technique of their jiu jitsu vs. relying on muscle and explosive energy. Just stick with it and I promise you will see yourself improving! You're just starting, this is your time to be selfish about your learning and training. It's a fun journey, and a long one if you love it. I was hooked after my very first class, so I'm glad to hear another lady has discovered the BJJ obsession!

Please oh please talk about touching the private body parts, how they technically happen meaning are they essential like in armbars, if the contact is avoidable or not, if you do talk about that with your students or not and if there is a common unsaid custom regarding that. It is literally literally the only thing stopping me from BJJ i would appreciate it greatly if you talk about it comprehensively plainly leaving nothing unsaid because i coudndn't find one. Love your videos and your attitude.

I have a question for a video maybe. So I’m a white belt and have been training for around 5 months. I was rolling with a blue stripped white belt; at my gym it’s given to people who have been there a long time but aren’t blue belts. The man was 55 and landing submission after submission. So my question is should I have rolled slower? It wasn’t super intense or anything and I wasn’t trying to kill him. I just feel a little bad
