  • We started the application for my Vietnamese wife's USA green card in January 2023. It took 1 year for USCIS to process her I130 and we just got an update with the next big part of her green card application and finally have a tentative date for her to move to the USA!

      It takes time under any normal process with the corona virus etc it caused many many delays I am very pleased now Thuong has a visa interview even though the time has been way to long as Thuong travels to USA as a good Vietnamese wife I am 100 percent sure she comes for her husband and this will be on her thoughts before during and after of traveling I have thought about 6 8 hour flights but a 25 hour flight I have made a dozen times I’d say they better feed her good !

      They have good content, both appear likeable and to me they seem quite friendly. The fact that they both have been expats from the mother countries for quite a long time and have attempted to be residents of several countries, should give you pause. I for one am glad that our Dept. of State is doing their jobs (which entails lengthy investigations) for our country's security. Gut feeling is that they will pass with flying colors but Investigation results take precedence.

    this is what i learn from many chinese who give advice from their perspective the chinese says to get green card in canada is very easy but for move to greek you need spend 250k euro for buying a house then greek will give you visa. many rich chinese migrate out of china and seek western citizenship. 2 country favorable is canada and greek.

    Why do people keep thinking the US economy is downward. Yep inflation put a bite in some things but in general the economy, from jobs to wages to investment are as good as ever and much better than in europe or many places in asia. Also inflation while spurred by supply shocks is coming under control and was never anything like the stagflation of the late 70s and early 80s. It takes time to pull inflation down, nevertheless the market stayed hot and jobs kept flowing. Of course anecdotal evidence may be used by many to support claims the economy is bad but by any reasonable standard of inference the overall economy is in great shape. The bigger concern entails strategic behavior by oligopolies to move ever more toward monopoly and that will push prices higher than inflation. The FTC has an important role in stopping this and ensuring competition long term to keep wages and prices moving properly.

I'm just in Discord channels with a bunch of Americans who keep talking about not being able to afford XY and how the cost of living skyrocketed in the past few years. These Discords are completely apolitical, just related to some of my hobbies.
      When it comes to the illegal migration issue (as someone else has already mentioned it here), you should just take a look at how countries like Sweden/Germany are trying to rollback their similar lenient policies. That light handed way of handling illegal migration has already failed in multiple countries. This isn't my opinion, it's factual.

    • @user-qx7db8xx4q
      @user-qx7db8xx4q 10 дней назад

      A couple things. (1) having a bad go of things is not mutually exclusive from the overall economy doing well. And that sucks if you're the one with not enough. Moreover some States can be doing much less well and see out-migration to where the jobs and cost of living are in shape. (2) Doing well today doesn't mean there won't be future downturns. The business cycle has always been there but we do have a better idea nowadays how to respond when there is a crisis. No single indicator can predict this, certainly not gold, which at best may capture some investors sentiments but not all and it is endogenous to lots of other stuff.
      There are some future concerns. High interest rates put pressure on high government debt loads. Interest rates will fall but if wider conflicts emerge in the world disrupting supply chains, interest rates may rise again and the debt to GDP ratio may be a problem for financing both facing off in that conflict and public expenditures. On the other hand, this is hard to predict as it may not work that simply and increased investments could offset this concern. The point is next year the economy could struggle, indeed it likely has to cool a bit, but that is not the same as being on a bad trend in general. In fact, the last few years have been on average great. Level headed policy responses will be necessary to ensure future disruptions are managed as well as possible.
      Unfortunately for Asia, while low hanging gains allowed speedy process even in the face of systematic corruption, longer term gains may become difficult. Corruption is at work in many places but there the levels of corruption that are tied between the political singular power bases many of those countries have, inevitably slow things down, which may be what has happened in China. Too complex to know for sure!
