Stock Atiken Waterman were geniuses. A lot of people mocked them at the time for producing trashy music. But their music has held up very well over the years.

Yea, I turned 13 in the summer of '86 and I remember loving this track when it was released. Kim has said she and Mel were completely baffled by the for-them unorthodox arrangement of the song. They thought the B-side “System” was going to be the actual single that was going to get promoted.

Oh, I so vividly remember when I first heard this song on the radio & then watching them on Top Of The Pops. How I loved walking from Marble Arch to Oxford Circus and stopping off at the HMV store on Bond St. Mel & Kim were so cool. I absolutely loved their music, attitude & style.
I was ordering food from this Mexican restaurant and they was playing it . The cook was turning around and dancing to the song . I love ❤ it ever since .

A time when music was genuinely appreciated as well as talent being well ahead of itself too. If you notice, the girls were stunning and didn't have to resort wearing less clothes than what is sadly featured in music videos of now. I remember dancing my ass off to this song and Respecable in the clubs back in the late 80s. I was a senior in high school but boys still got into the kind of bars that I went to back then!! My sister took me out for my 21st birthday when I was legal to drink and it was funny when I came out to her a few years later and told her that I'd been getting in to bars since I was 17!!!
Kim is still a lovely, classy lady. Saw her on TV watching about the hits factory Saw. At the time because of hit man and her seemed a joke but a young person teenager who knows what apart from a few like songs but they all three, had serious talent. 👍🏼 So respect
This record still sounds cutting edge and fresh just as it did 32 years ago. Wow. One of my very favorite records ever. One of the best low budget videos ever too - they were so gorgeous and wow could they dance. Nothing remotely comes close to this today.
