I have been watching your videos for about 8 years. The first Hawaiian video I watched was where you were standing next to the lagoon by the Rainbow Tower and I am watching this video again. Always good stuff
Thanks Chris, this is perfect! We've just recently decided our delayed honeymoon will be flying to Hawaii, staying for a few days, and then taking a cruise ship back to Sydney! This will be next year. I look forward to all your tips!
It was crazy seeing Lahaina and how there were just pockets of areas that weren’t burned like the Safeway and the shopping area where Teddy’s is, but everything around it was charred.
10 hours from Munich to San Francisco, then 6 hours to Oahu. 4 islands, 8 days each. Oahu, Kauai, Maui and big Island. And yes, a 4WD rental Jeep is worth it. Book your beaches, book national parks, book hotels. Expensive but absolutely worth it!!!
Good job Chris. I grew up in HI and now live between CA and HI. Wanted to add that hotels are pricey($300+) so you can do day trips for about $150 r/t. There is a bus that goes between the airport and Waikiki. In-between is Kalihi, Chinatown, downtown, Kakaako, Ala Moana. If you are on this short route it's convenient. If not get a car or it could take hours to go to the other side of the island by bus.😁 Sometimes Kauai drivers are too nice. Stopping to let you merge may cause a rear end issue. Hawaiian Sun drinks make a good smoothie base if you don't have access to guava, lilikoi, lychee, etc. I do a Hawaiian Sun, Banana, ice, coconut milk.😋 Two words that only you put together... gourmet spam???🤪 Put a tsp of sugar in your poi(coconut milk optional). Delish. Also, get the pasteurized Hanalei Poi. It doesn't go sour. The reef at Hanauma Bay is dead. If you are a good diver go beyond the breakers for a serene scene. Fish schools are out there. Don't hassle the Honu, sea turtles. Costco is the first stop for condo or timeshare visitors. You can tell their length of stay by the bottles of liquor in the cart.😂
Thank you Chris . Oahu will always have a special place in my ❤ and yes, as you mentioned in this video, the Polynesian Cultural Village is is a must see. Aloha 🌴🌴🌴
Flying to Honolulu in just over a month and am very excited! Stopping over on my way from Australia. Have plans to check out Diamond head, swim in Waikiki, have a tour booked for Hanauma Bay and of course eating some shave ice and malasadas! I already know I am going to want to go back to explore more and wish I had more time.
Hi Chris, At what age would you recommend taking a baby. We have a 12 month old (first child) and would really like to visit Hawaii, but we are not sure what age would be the most appropriate? Thanks
I can vouch for Costco pineapple. I know a pilot for Alaska that will nonrev to Hawaii and back just to buy Maui gold pineapple so he can have it at home in Seattle/

Wow! That must be some good Pineapple!
Hawaiians don't actually want tourists at the moment, many of them are speaking up about it all across social media.
45% of immigrant in Hawaii are from Philippines, china is 9% Japan is 8% and 6 % are Korean. Just to correct you .
Chris can you get beer shave ice?🧊🍺😎
Hah. Not an option I've seen yet 😀
