I agree with your thoughts on slow cinema. Films like Stalker and Solaris are a deeply calming and almost meditative experience for me. It's seems to be impossible to explain to people who think these kind of films are boring

I'm guessing you're not the biggest horror fan? Imo, there are decent horror-suspense movies coming out that you just have to turn your brain off for when the director is throwing bones to the people that want the pulp.
