This was doo-wap, performed by Italian-Americans and Black-Americans alike back then. Funny how that happened in spite of segregation and whatnot. I like Frank Valli as much as Frankie Lymon. This was a great era of music. I was born long after it but have loved A Bronx Tale for years now. Salute to all the "paisans" and "brothas" who made this great music!
I grew up in Philly in the 50s and 60s and we did the same thing. Boys rooms, staircases with the right echo, subway stations etc. singing doo wop was so much fun and helped us bond with each other. Of course, that’s when they still taught music in schools.
Hey everybody ! The whole group is still together , we are performing all over the tri state area, mostly long island. We will post all dates on here and Facebook, and check out our up and coming web page ! COOL CHANGE IS BACK !!!
@@laztbr3th we are all together on Long Island NY ! Still doing our thing ! The virus slowed us down , but we should be Gigging again soon ! Thank you !
This pure seasoned street talent brings both tears and a smile to me. That movie and music had real soul. I agree with weezerfan084 of how can people just walk on past without admiring this song. Sonny was right, "NOBODY CARES".
Richard West thank you for the kind words ! Just one thing , we are from Long Island not da Bronx ! And Brooklyn before that ! Lol shhhh don't tell anyone! Lol
My favorite movie my mother nicknamed me C after this movie and the year 1993 is when i was born same year this was released only difference is my mother was born in jersey her brother in boston but we have family in the Bronx
being originally from the bronx now in living in so. cal how can you not love this song. great movie, great tunes, great acting, one of my all time flicks. thanks chazz for sharing a wonderful time in the best place to grow up.
Dion and the Belmont’s, The Regents, Ernie Maresca, The Jaynells, Gino and the Destiners, Cousins records on Fordam Rd, Tremonts, Consorts Just some of the groups from my neighborhood Arthur avenue A very unique time, A Bronx tale.
When i was growing up in The Bronx I did not know there was a world outside. The Bronx was our world. I had a great childhood and wonderful memories growing up in Soundview Clason Pointe in the 50's. I regret flipping all my baseball cards and comic books that would be worth a fortune but who knew. Go Bronx! Oh yeah never forget having a part in the Godfather part 2 on Houston Street. Probably a ton of Bronx guys were in that movie as extras. Yeah nice memories!
Great sound guys! Glad you guys got to sing in the movie. Years ago, I sang with a group who did that kind of thing in NYC. Frankly we made people crazy. No weren't as good as Dion and the Belmonts, or the Crests.(btw I knew Johnny, and Kenny) of course Kenny was with Jay and the Americans. But we sounded better than howling cats! LOL or at least we thought so... We sang in hallways, subway stations, street corners...but that was the NYC sound...a little like you guys... Hope you find success.
just finished watching this movie an it was wonderful! NEW FAVE 😍 so nice to be a kid in those days, wish i could have been alive in that time and anyway the bronx is not the same anymore.... 😔

Thx for posting! I liked the movie and the fantastic soundtrack. You fellas are very good. It would be nice if would come to Italy, back to your roots, and sing here...Take care and keep singing.
A Bronx Tale brought me here (long time fan of the movie). This is a little bit Early 90’s white boy band. Someone capitalized on this ish. Ladies and gentlemen, here are the BackStreet Boys!
Reminds me of my old neighborhood in Mohawk in Cincinnati, Ohio. Guys with their bottles of wine and singing their brains out. They covered a lot of songs back then. A lot Spaniels stuff. Some Nolan Strong and the Diablos. 1958 and 1959 in the summer time.
When I was twelve every corner in Brooklyn had group of guys singing like this! So cool!
I wish I could be so lucky to witness those moments myself, sadly I just turned 27 last oct :\
raoul diblasi awesome

Can I get your opinion on Dion and the Belmonts , do you think Dion or Carlo had the better voice , my vote was for Carlo . Thanks in advance ! 👍
It was not performed the same way. You can hear significant difference between the two @@bellachronicles1065

This song was written by Butch Barbella who was the music supervisor and also wrote all the original music for the movie "A Bronx Tale"
I have the power of lyrics
On the streets of The Bronx
Is where I wanna be
Standing on the corner
Singing doowop harmony
I've been waiting for the man
To come along
And discover me
Something is get the tune
Over I do want doowop
I wanna be a singer-star
I've been up and down The Bronx
With your shiny car
On the streets is where I wanna be
(that is where I wanna be, singing in harmony)
On the streets is where I wanna be
(that is where I wanna be. Go away, don't bother me!)
On the streets is where I wanna be
On the corner...
I've been waiting for the man to come
Along and discover me
Standing on the corner
Singing doowop harmony
On the streets of the Bronx
Is where I wanna be
Where I wanna be
