    I agree...I've had this plane for over a year and it's my "go too" plane if I haven't flown for a while. The yellow is so easy to see in the air. It's a great flyer and on 4S with increased throws...it'll blow you away on what it can do.

    I flew the daylights out of my umx Trojan years ago. Was more glue than foam when I was done with it. Trojans have a special place in my heart.

    Im new to the hobby, first planes are the Eachine mini warbirds. They gave me a fever for something bigger and I am one of those that only wants to fly warbirds. I don't care about any of the other planes. I bought this T-28 Trojan for my first beginner warbird last weekend and absolutely love it!!!!! I only fly in safe mode right now but love it!!!! My maiden flight was terrible..... All it wanted to do the whole time was climb I had no down elevator control at all. I tried to trim it as much as it would go and it did nothing I finally had to just cut the throttle off and do a bunch of circles until it finally hit the ground lol. After that I ended up having to do a mechanical trim and then I was able to get it to where I actually had down elevator. Since then the flights have been great! I would have to correct you on the grass, it does not like grass at all. I was able to get it to take off and land on a soccer field that is completely dried out and probably a inch tall and it didn't even like that very much but it did it. I would say anything over inch long grass forget about it with those tiny wheels.

      Welcome to the hobby... The T 28 is an excellent beginner plane. The bigger you go the better they fly. Spend some time on a simulator and you'll be a pro in no time..

      @@brianwills4398 Thank you! I have been into R/C since I was a kid with kit cars and trucks.... My first was a Team Associated RC10T stadium truck when I was 12 lol So not a total newbie for R/C but 100% new to airplanes. Like I said in the previous post, my first planes I got a month or so ago are those Eachine mini warbirds and I love them but I do have to agree that the bigger plane is easier to fly.... In safe mode 😂🤣 I will get there. The next day I go out to fly I plan to take safe mode off and practice crashing 😎

    I got this plane as a gift. It looked kinda cheap the elevator is held on with tape and the battery just sticks into foam no straps. I figured I would try it out and maybe trade it off at a swap. NOT! this plane is awesome it's small but easy to see. I can toss it in my car and be flying very fast. It has no issues on the grass field I use. Its fast and nimble and slows down easy without flaps. Thanks RcSaylors for all the demo's!!

    • @TheRcSaylors
      @TheRcSaylors  2 года назад +1

      Glad you saw the light!! Haha 😅 It is a great plane, that sort of does give off a “bad first impression” as you said. That tape is a turn off, but lemme tell ya, it holds up just as well as the screw system! Only downside to that: it may peel the paint if you try to remove the rear horizontal stabilizer for whatever reason. Happy Flying Z! 👍😁😎⚓️

No issues, always up for a flight on a calm afternoon and ready to snap at will. Just wish it had more aileron authority. That said, it's so docile, I can even recommend it to younger pilots looking for the best low wing trainer!

    I had the original Parkzone version of this plane from around 2008. It was, and still is, my favorite plane. I recently decided to get back into the hobby. My plane was the original red and white version. Fortunately, some of the parts from the new one will interchange with the old one. Word of caution, if you decide to bring a 14 yr old plane out of decommission, some of the plastic will get really brittle and easily break. Love this plane!

    This t28 is such a great flyer. I always bring to the field to start my day off with. I did put larger wheels on mine as our grass is pretty bumpy and the larger Aeroscout wheels worked well on it. This plane also works out great for head tracking FPV as it comes with a 6ch receiver so you have the 2 available ch's for the head tracking FRV servos. What a blast!

    Thanks for the great video. So here is a curve ball for you, I’d like to get a slow flying plane, but something very stable.
    I hear the biplanes are some of the slowest, but can also be extremely twitchy.

    This one I think I will look into. Thanks again.

      I’m open to pretty much anything, but I’ve been told once you apply the word “scale” things start to become expensive. But that yellow one ( forgot the name) looks to be a great second plane.
      I’ve seen the videos on the Black Hawk RC copter, but even with the safety features I was told this is definitely Not a learner vehicle. For any helicopter, I was to start with pod and boom, because much less expensive to fix, that’s when I was told anything “scale” also means $$
      I’m now thinking the cheapo build yourself foam kits might be the best idea. Crash em, glue them back together and keep going until you have the skills. But I do love the beach craft. Too bad it would look out to lunch in military colors.
      Have you ever seen a skymaster RC plane? I wonder how it would fly. Right out of the movie Bat 21.
      Also a beaver would be fantastic esp with the pontoon kit. Thanks for the reply. Cheers

IMO, I would tell anyone to forget about the looks and buy an Aeroscout. Learn how to fly it and then step up to the Trojan. Sounds like I don't like the Trojan but I do. It's an amazing plane.

    Gotta say after watching a lot of RC-related youtube videos that Abby is a great videographer. Not everyone is as good at keeping the planes in the frame.
    For a new pilot would you go right to an NX8 transmitter vs the DX anything, when going for a BNF plane?
    Would you say a Turbo Timber Evolution can be dumbed down enough to be a viable trainer? Or is the tricycle landing gear as on this plane or an Apprentice STS 'needed' for a first-time pilot? I think I'd want flaps right away

      Thank you very much! I’ll let Abby know you said that and she will be very happy to hear that. She tries hard and I agree, she does a wonderful job 😁 And YES, go right for the NX8 if possible. I went to the link but it shows many of them and just want to make sure I get a good universal radio up front so I can grow with it and use it with other planes when I add more. This is my favorite plane! Those snap rolls don't have to be so docile. If you want a wild snap, simultaneously go full throttle, full down elevator, full left aileron, and full right rudder (just jam the sticks into the top middle of your transmitter). After a few rolls, let off the throttle and return controls to neutral and it'll recover in no time.
    Also, it will knife edge fairly well if you adjust the throws on the rudder.

      Totally agreed! Hey, I may have mentioned this before, but if at all possible, would you mind splitting the support between your hobby shop and us? Maybe buy one thing from them, then the next you could use our link? Either way, we appreciate your support 😁 One nice thing about buying through our link on Horizon is that you have a points system that really adds up over time! Abby and I love signing in before we buy our RC stuff because we get rewards that we can use on our next purchase, or just let them add up over time and every now and then we get ourselves a free Axial mini crawler 😉 I realize this sounds super sales pitchy, but it seriously helps us a lot when people buy through our links. Thanks so much for watching and for your support!! Have fun with that new Voodoo!! 😎⚓️

    • @Hoomi2
      @Hoomi2 2 года назад

      One of the reasons I bought from our local shop was that they posted they had some in stock, while the Horizon site showed the UMX Voodoo as already on backorder. I maidened it the next day (shortest time ever for me between purchase and first flight). I suspect the Voodoo is going to be a popular plane for them, with its performance and features for the price.
      While we might have missed out on the commission from Horizon on this one, I figure the Patreon support is a bit more regular and reliable from me. Happy to keep supporting a good channel!

      @TheRcSaylors  2 года назад

      That’s not a bad idea! We have 😁 The downside is that there are two of us, which doubles the cost and makes editing that much more difficult since we both talk, and stand by each other. My mic would pic Abby up and vice versa. Editing these levels would mean probably cutting our videos back to two a week or so. I know the wind noise is not ideal at times, and when I walk away from the camera. I toss this idea around at least once every week or two. Pros and cons I suppose. 👍⚓️
