Just watched this movie for the first time expecting to hat it, and it actually may be my favorite of the series. Having experienced the finger breaking scene with fresh eyes, My only logical guess is Creighton, knowing Steven was important, broke his fingers so that 1. He’d have an excuse to call over a guard to break out, as we saw 2. To make him an unworthy candidate for Jason to possess, as both hands have broken fingers.
I actually love this movie. I wouldn't say it's my favorite, but I still love it and I honestly don't see why people hate it. I love how it tries to be different and it succeeds more at doing that than part 8. Some things I love are the amazing kills and gore and characters and great acting. But what I don't really like is just how weird and mythological and Jason jumping from body to body never being mentioned before. I give it a 8.75/10
Jason jumps from bodies to bodies, hints that he's a deadite, then we watch Jason be portrayed by randoms. The only thing redeeming about this movie is the freddy cameo. This movie to me was ass.
Freddy is not the only horror icon that makes a cameo in this movie though, the necronomicon from the evil dead series also makes a cameo, which is kind of bizarre
when I was a kid and started following Jason, a classmate told me about Freddy's hand grabbing Jason's mask. I thought that was too good to be true. I'm so glad for that scene! Once again, great review!
At first, I thought that "Jason Gose to Hell" was one of the worst installments in this franchise because it was FAR removed from anything that had come before. However, upon a second viewing, I found that to also be its strength. I think it helped after viewing several of these movies back-to-back that it was nice to come across something WAY different form the typical hack and slash formula. Jason as body snatcher may not make any sense, but it's HELL of fun.
On the Freddy vs Jason DVD commentary there's a bit where Ken Kirzinger talks about how he had to go to the dentist in full Jason makeup and Robert Englund jokes about the idea of a Jason Goes To the Dentist film.
I always loved the scene where the cop & the hero are fighting on the side of the road. They're both sitting on the side of the car after fighting & the cop says "Listen to me, I have a gun." & the hero says "I have a gun." Then they comically point guns at one another.
5:16 - 5:22 "Slams her head in the door right quick." hahahaha I dunno, something in the way you said it. So funny, great review. This is one of the Friday movies I haven't watched all the way through yet. I'll watch it when I pick up the box set though. Thanks for the review.
+Nocturnal Toothbrush I've through this one in several times over the years and can never make it through the whole thing. It's just so out there. I actually enjoyed it once I forced myself to watch it.
This was the first Jason I had ever seen in its entirety and it was what convinced me to view the rest of the films. Funny you mention about The Hidden as I am a huge fan of that film and when I first viewed this film, it was a definite sequel feel to that film than the actual Hidden sequel that came out months later. I still enjoyed this one for what it was and have been viewing all the films when I can. Nice job on this review and mention of The Hidden.
It took me 5 sittings to finish this movie the second time I watched it. I watched again a few days ago though I enjoyed it much more this time around, I still don't find myself inclined to ever watch it again.
One more thing, after watching your review. What part was the slamming the girl's head with the car door? I don't remember that scene at all? Makes me want to watch it again now, even though I don't like it,lol.
There are a few you tubers out there that I just do not care for. They claim to be fans of the franchise, but all they do is dump all over the movies. I thoroughly enjoyed your review though. You were honest, but fair. I liked your “plus column, minus column” approach. With that, even if my opinion differs, I can understand how you came to your opinion. I feel like that invites genuine discussion rather than just dumping on the movies. When you tubers do that, I think “where do I go from there? What do with that? Are they even really a fan to begin with?” I enjoy your honest analysis. I think Jason Goes to Hell is a very well made film, from an anatomy of film perspective. It’s special effects and production value are high quality. It had a good cast. It’s plot was different, but I think welcome.
@@DrumdumsOfficial The director said he's getting a spinoff. He says he didn't really die, if he did make that movie, they'll have to come up with a good reason how he's alive.
Honestly the whole Friday the 13th franchise is bizarre the movies are repetitive as hell and the ones that aren't repetitive are wayyy too different but in the case of this movie i actually liked it i liked the look of Jason the best in this movie (although he isnt in it for very long) the kills were pretty good, and it was bloody and i liked Steven as the main character he was played by John D. Lemay who also played Ryan Dallion in Friday the series. Its not a perfect movie but i think it's pretty damn good but most people don't like iit because its different which i understand
This is my least favorite of all the FT13th movies. I really hated the way Jason looked in the beginning and end; Just like I hated the way he looked whenever he took off that mask in 8. The part that makes me cry with laughter is the whole diner kill scenes; That guy outside's hand/wrist snapped, the waitress screaming/slammed at the door, and the rest of the people inside getting slaughtered. Then there was that WTF strapped down bondage type scene. Just a hot, bubbling, garbage, mess of a movie..For me anyway.
This is one of my favorites in the series. I like the scene of the coroner examining the corpse and finding the beating heart. I did enjoy it when he went to the campground and kills off the couple having sex in the tent. I think the girls were going to share the tent and the couple was starting to get frisky. "No, you go ahead." "I can sleep out here." There was an interesting dialog between the couple about getting a condom. The condom was thrown out as he said, "Are you ready for Tony the wonder llama?" The condom got stepped on by Jason. Some see that as a safe sex message. "You don't use protection, you're done!" I am homosexual. I saw the shaving scene added more shock value. I pulled for the protagonist as he tried to convince others that Jason was really back.
The reason that this film is titled "Jason Goes to Hell: The Final Friday" instead of "Friday the 13th Part IX" or something similar is that New Line Cinema had bought the rights to the Jason Voorhees character from Paramount, but did not have the rights to the name "Friday the 13th". When Creighton Duke is being interviewed and he demands $500,000 for the capture of Jason, he says, "For that, you get the mask, the machete, the whole damn thing." This is a reference to Jaws (1975) when Quint demands $10,000 to kill the shark. He says, "For that, you get the head, the tail, the whole damn thing." One early concept for this movie was "Jason Goes To L.A" in which two rival gangs would be fighting. When Jason would show up and start murdering them, the rival gangs to band together to defeat Jason. Jason's heart was used in From Dusk Till Dawn (1996) as Monkey Man's heart. The crate in the basement of the Vorhees house was a prop from the story "The Crate" from Creepshow (1982). The jungle gym in front of the Vorhees house was also used in The Birds (1963). Barry Moss had served as casting director for the first Friday the 13th, but had nothing to do with the series after that. Sean Cunningham convinced him to come back for Jason Goes to Hell because Moss lived on the East Coast, and his cancer-stricken mother lived in Los Angeles. Working on Jason Goes to Hell gave him a professional reason to return to LA, providing a paycheck while spending his free time attending to the needs of his dying mother. The original title of the movie was "Friday the 13th Part IX: The Dark Heart of Jason Voorhees". According to co-writer Dean Lorey, the biggest mistake he made was a writing a baby into the story and Creighton Duke's sudden appearance in the lore despite never being mentioned in the last 8 films, and some of the rules to kill Jason. In extended interviews of Crystal Lake Memories: The Complete History of Friday the 13th (2013) documentary about Friday The 13th movies Noel Cunningham said that original rough cut of "Jason Goes To Hell" was over 130 minutes long and therefore it had to be heavily re-edited to be faster paced and under 90 minutes long. This is the first Friday the 13th-related film to have another Voorhees (other than Jason) in the movie since Friday the 13th (1980). Though the theatrical poster features Jason wearing a shiny chrome mask, no such face covering is ever seen in the film. In fact, the mask he wears is the traditional hockey mask Jason is known for, but with his flesh growing over it. The demonic parasite on the cover also looks nothing like the parasite in the actual film. Jason does wear a metal futuristic mask in Jason X (2001). This was the first film in the series to be handled by New Line Cinema after the series was moved from Paramount. Tony Todd auditioned for the role of Creighton Duke, but lost out to Steven Williams. Like several of the sequels before it and in Jason X (2001) after this, the film originally had a flashback sequence and Betsy Palmer was proposed to reprise her role, but she decided not to for various reasons, usually money, in all the films. According to actress Rusty Schwimmer, most of the dialog between her character, Joey B, and Shelby (Leslie Jordan) was improvised on set. "They just rolled the cameras and let us go," she said. The only film in the series to be released in the 1990s. The character in the film named Robert Campbell is an intentional tribute to Robert Englund, who played Freddy Krueger, and Bruce Campbell, who played Ash from The Evil Dead. Director Adam Marcus's decision to cast an African American actor as Creighton Duke was influenced by 'George A. Romero''s continued casting of African Americans as heroes in his films, in spite of the turbulent political climate when these films were made. Marcus wanted to continue this trend, and ultimately chose Steven Williams for the role. The sheriff's surname is Landis, which is a reference to John Landis, director of An American Werewolf in London (1981) and Michael Jackson: Thriller (1982) Josh's death won the Golden Chainsaw Award in Dead Meat's "Jason Goes to Hell: The Final Friday (R Rated Cut)" kill count, while Deborah Caldwell's death won the award in the Unrated Cut. FBI Agent Elizabeth Marcus is named after the director, Adam Marcus. In addition to his roles as Jason and the Security Guard, Kane Hodder also played Freddy Krueger's arm in the final scene, which technically makes him the only actor to play both Jason and Freddy Jason's heart was made of gelatin and filled with fruit cocktail, mixed with black dye. Still, actor Richard Gant was disgusted and reportedly nearly threw up during the take. The second of two 'Friday the 13th' movies that feature Jason in which he doesn't use a machete to kill anyone, the other being Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter (1984). Jason possesses four people, all male (Phil the Coroner, Josh, Robert and Randy).
Hey Lee i just remembered, I know your gonna review the Nightmare films after the fridays are over but i was wondering if after you review the nightmares if you could review the childs play films. Im looking forward though to the nightmare on elm streets. I love those
This is the only Friday movie that I haven't seen. I'm thinking that although I'm a Steven Williams fan, I'm going to stay away from this one. Great review!
There is a petition going on to make an official Jason Goes to Hell Definitive Director's Cut on blu ray. This includes the full workprint version (you can see some of the deleted scenes of Deleted Horror Scene's channel). Since you seemed to like this movie, maybe you are possibly intrested in signing it. The link for it is here: www.change.org/p/warner-brothers-jason-goes-to-hell-definitive-director-s-cut
I like this one it is not like the other entries but it tries something different but it is pretty good not one of my favorites but still had fun with it
im not into a whole lot of male nudity either i guess jason wanted a good looking body to get into and he chose that guy, one of my favorite types of slashers is the old body switcheroo, this and the hidden, shocker, even though they don't make much sense they' are a real erratic party fest with jump scares ad nauseum but sometimes i think a lot of people act like they are the same person, some people you can catch on to em very quickly.
This was disappointing to me for one reason.jason being absent except at the beginning and the end of the film.i went to the threatre to watch this movie back in 1993 while on vacation.i know what they were trying to do and I appreciate that but if it's not broke don't fix it.i do love the kills but overall it was disappointing.
Nice review lee on this video. i have seen jason goes to the hell about 3 times. I will admit its not one of the best but i definitely enjoyed it. Especially the end scene with freddys glove. Oh and also im suprised you didnt mention this but The book of dead is in this film.
I do love this film, I think it kind of fails as a Friday movie but works well as a body horror. The FX are top notch and the actors are some of the best in the series. Kane Hodder for what little he gets to do it’s awesome as always.
I’ve personally never been a Jason nor Friday the 13th fan, I’ve seen this film as a kid in the nineties and revisited it in my early twenties, didn’t like it, I also never really noticed the homoerotic in this film I was young however though I’m gay just couldn’t full comprehend it at the time. The same with HellRaiser apparently that one is also filled with homoeroticism and bdsm but again I had no idea as kid watching these movies what they meant, or those types of signs. However, I’m here for your commentary Lee and reviews they certainly are interesting entertaining and an escape during this sad time for me again personally. Thank you always for these videos even the ones from the past...
I actually love the look of Jason in JGTH something about his look to me is just badass. I think one of the reasons is that the mask is inbedded into his head. 2. sometimes I refer to him as new line Cinema Jason just cuz that was new line Cinema's look of Jason Voorhees and when I think of new line Cinema, I think of JGTH Jason.
@@DrumdumsOfficial I can understand why some may not like it, I remember when I first watched it as a child and saw Jason in the movie and thought the look of that Jason was awesome and I would only watch the movie just to see the scenes with Jason.
I really enjoy this more every time I see it I used to hate it because no Jason for most of the film. Now I liked what they were going for. As a standalone movie it is good, but as a Friday the 13th film it is not. It feels like a totally different movie. Like u said there was that weird nude scene which is hard to watch and sit through. The heart eating scene still gets me grossed out to this day ughh lol. Of course my favortie part was the Freddy hand at the end what is funny is Kane Hodder was the one with the Freddy glove grabbing the Jason mask which u probably already knew.
+MattaTron1000 Yeah man this one definitely has it's own vibe and really isn't that inviting to most Friday fans. It has grown on me over the years though.
It must be tough to get the Friday the 13th franchise this far into the franchise and still try to do something fresh and unique. I might check this out for the gore -- the special effects look pretty awesome. Great review Lee -- I have only seen the first Friday the 13th *gasps*. Also I HAVE to check this out for Freddy's hand!
lol yea I remember watching this for the first time when I was 7 and just going ape shit over Freddies glove at the end.the Jason goes to hell is just as terrible now as it was then
Upon rewatch I Iooked at your review and I like it more now as a guilty pleasure film not a perfect Jason film but I enjoyed the kills super gorey the third act the rebirth of Jason was awesome
I really liked this movie, the characters saved it for me, how did he get out of hell though for Jason x? I’m curious someone plz tell me, can we play around with time and assume Freddy resurrected him and after FvJ he was captured?
this was way better than jason takes a manhattan boat!1, i don't care for male nudity myself (see enough of it at the gym) but michele clunie was the best! god she is beautiful!
I just put up my review of this film a few days ago afterwards I like to watch other reviews again so I decided to watch yours and Cody's again you guys are great. I know you're busy with a lot of stuff but if you get a chance to check out my review it's a little longer it's about 35 minutes, but I would love to get your opinion on it.
When it comes Jason Goes to Hell, continuity be damned which has and always will be my biggest issue with the film. Adam Marcus seemed like he was trying to make an Evil Dead movie that had Jason in it which to me was a bad idea in retrospect, because Friday the 13th and Evil Dead are polar opposites. Despite its flaws, I will say that this movie has one of my favorite Jason looks (Shame it was wasted and is only on screen for a total of about 10 minutes), one of my favorite kills (The Unrated version of the tent scene), and of course the ending with Freddy's glove grabbing Jason's mask.
saw this one at the theater when I was 15 , I haaaaaated it , the shaving WTFFFFF ???.............what was so disapointed is that after that mysterious ending of Jason takes Manhattan , we had so many questions unanswered , we waited 5 years to get this ? the body to body thing made me think automatically of the movie Shocker , was kind of surprised you didnt mention Shocker . I gotta disagree with you on this , Friday in Manhattan was a lot more fun too watch than this one
I wanted to watch a Friday the 13th movie this friday the 13th, but i saw most of them a couple of times, so i decided to watch this one for the second time, because i didn't really remembered it. I agree it is not a very good movie and i understand the hate for Jason goes to hell. With that being said i had a lot of fun with this movie and i will definitely give it another watch in the future.
and by the way you were far too kind on this hot garbage .just kidding. in all sincerity you deserve more subs your video never disappoint me. keep up the great work
What sucks about this movie is you didn't see him in hell and I know because of budget they couldn't do that and some of the scenes that they cut out of the film that you can watch on RUclips, that sucks that they took those out. I have the original 3 part comic book that is based off of the original script so it has the deleted scenes and some of the alternate dialog but it doesn't have the camp scene where the chick gets ripped in half. You probably know they had to film that after the movie was done just to get a Camp Crystal Lake feel to it. The painful kill to me was the deep fat fryer scene. It's interesting how they took a satanic approach to this movie. This isn't my favorite but I love it.
+Hunter sharp Oh that's easy...Halloween. I'm obsessed with that franchise. That's why I reviewed it first. I wish I would've waited a bit because those were some of my first reviews and I'd like to do a better job in some of them. I actually re-reviewed part 6 because that's one of my favorites.
One of the worst films in the series. Jason's heart hypnotising a paramedic into eating it is one of the most unintentionally hilarious scenes ever, ripping off Halloween by giving Jason a never before seen half sister and niece, Jason's soul possessing his heart and being able to possess other people even though he'd never had that ability before and never had it again. Only the guy playing the paramedic acted like Kane Hodder would as Jason while he was playing Jason possessing the paramedic. And according to Crystal Lake Memories Hodder got into an argument with the guy who played Robert Campbell because in the scene where Robert ends up possessed by Jason the actor wasn't playing it as Kane would saying stuff like "This is how my Jason would do it" and Kane was trying to tell him "You're playing yourself with Jason inside you" but the guy wouldn't listen and thought Hodder being a stuntman meant he didn't half to listen to him. Another stupid plot point was the out of nowhere magical dagger that could send Jason to hell and the "Only a Voorhees can kill him" thing. Then how did Tommy Jarvis kill Jason in The Final Chapter? By this film's logic Tommy Jarvis is a secret Voorhees. Jason as himself only appears in 2 scenes as well as reflections in mirrors whenever one of his hosts walk past one. The only 3 good things about this film were Jason's look, Creighton Duke and the final fight.
I enjoyed the film with the commentary track (one of the best commentary tracks ever). The shaving scene is one of the weirdest scenes ever. But, I really enjoyed the film overall.
Magical daggers & body hoping demon.....nah I ain't fan of this film it don't feel like a Jason movie, I understand that they were trying something different but this jumped the shark for me. I liked the opening & Harry Manfredini score but barring that it's my least favourite of the franchise.
Me and Cody Leach have a lot in common, unpopular opinions #6 Movie Negatives: Good concept but like Halloween Ends, Why?, Some Pacing Issues Positives: Kills, Final Act, Still Entertaining, I like the execution Sorry but Trapped on an Island and a 4.25/5
this is the only movie I don't like in the series.. actually I like Jason takes Manhattan.. it's just the name that can make or break the movie for some people.
Jason Goes To Hell: The Final Friday is absolutely and positively one of the worst horror movies of all time. It's completely and definitely a disgrace in the franchise. It feels rushed and forced. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
@@DrumdumsOfficial I understand he was trying to do something different with a whole new concept but unfortunately it didn't really appeal well with the franchise. The ONLY best part out of the whole entire movie was the opening scene the rest of it was stupid as it didn't make no complete sense whatsoever. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I did enjoy this movie but I wish that there was more of this Jason he was only at the beginning and the end of the movie I wanna to see more of him since he has a cool mask and I like it for what it is and did you know drumdums that Adam Marcus wanted Laurie Holden as Jessica Kimble I would of prefer that actress since she was in the Fantastic Four 2005, Mist 2007 and also the walking dead season 1-3 and she a beautiful gorgeous actress and I guess that Adam Marcus and writer Dean Lorey choice for the role of Jessica Kimble Sean S. Cunningham overruled them and pushed for Kari Keegan instead according to trivia and I wish that Laurie Holden was in this movie that would of been so awesome to see her in a horror slasher film and overall I’m gonna give Jason Goes to Hell The Final Friday 1993 a 6/10 stars not a bad movie but it could of been a little bit better and longer too but that just me though in my opinion
Can u do Michel Myers vs Jason reaction fan made Blum house 🏡 it’s on you tube the person who made videos is called we watched A movie 🍿u gonna love it
Creighton Duke was the worst part of the movie. This fucking bounty hunter that has been supposedly hunting Jason for years. We have NEVER seen him before this movie, but he's been hunting him forever? I'm calling bullshit. I hate this movie. Jason is not a demon slug that hops from body to body. This movie is such a pile of shit. Parts 5, 8, 9 and 10 are just awful. They suck on such a high level.
Speak for yourself, Jason Goes To Hell tried the most different things, Part 5 was still a good movie with Roy Burns even as filler, Manhattan was alright, and Jason X was great as well too with trying new things.
We have no idea how long the bounty hunter has been hunting jason. The problem is that its simply not explained were he meet jason an why he even cares about stopping him.As is hes still a great character. An the most fun part of the film.Hes so fun in this movie that it makes you want to see his movie with Jason. If the film had one scene with him explaining were he knows Jason from it would all be fixed. As for Jason being a slug it was actually a demon that carried Jasons spirit. As for it not being Jason. In all honesty we know all most nothing about Jason from these movies except for the fact hes deformed tough an dosent like his face lol. This sequel like every franchise is simply adding new story elements to help us learn more about the character an what hes all about. What will make or break this for you is how you feel about what they have added. The guy doing the review is right this isnt a friday the 13 movie an it wasnt meant to be.Its a creature feature with jason.Same as Jason x is a horror comedy space movie with Jason. If watched for what they are neither goes to hell or x are bad movies. They simply arent friday the 13 movies.By the ninth movies if your not going to do something totally new. Then honestly dont bother making it.Alot of fans get comfortable watching the same type of film in a franchise.Because anything new either makes them feel like its not the same franchise anymore so they feel left out or they simply cant embrace change. But if watched for what they are neither this nor x are any were close to bad.5 sucks because its a poorly done murder mystery.8 sucks because its just dull an not interesting with a stupid ending.Goes to hell works as a creature feature with amazing gore in the unrated version. An x totally works as a space comedy.Should they be friday the 13 movies no.But for what type of films they are with Jason they are good.
Personally hated 5 its a poorly done murder mystery.8 is just dull an stupid.I have no problem with films doing different stuff they have to to survive.Goes to hell an x for what they are.Are much better films then either 5 or 8.the problem is for fans is that they arent friday the 13 films. An they arent they are totally different types of films featuring jason. This is just my personal opinion.
I will this one did a better job at being the "final" Friday BC between the final chapter and a new beginning it was a one year gap and for Jason goes to hell and Jason x only a 9 year gap. While I enjoy this one it is not as good as the final chapter.
I watched it last night and this has been the worst movie I have ever watched. I can't believe how ridiculously bad it is. So bad you can even start laughing at it. And that keyboard-generated music was horrible. I can't understand how that was a good idea.
For me this is the worst one in the franchise. I never liked this movie. I respect the movie for trying something different, but it just didn’t work. I wanted Jason :(
To me this movie is a trip on the island I love this movie to death it is by far my favorite Friday movie other than part 6 in the remake but whenever I want to watch a Friday movie I watch part 9 it's just so much fun and also you have some amazing characters you have to green and Duke Elias Voorhees many people and they are all amazing. This film has some of the greatest kills in all of slashers like the one where Jason smashes two cops head into each other and they die. The one where Jason blows up and you see all his body parts are you going for days for how good this film is. I even watch this film like when I am cooking it's like one of those movies where you can put it on and you can come back at like anytime and you know exactly what's going on and it's great but anyway you have an amazing day PS can you review The Last Man Standing my favorite Bruce Willis film
😂 See, I love those “hillbilly” characters, as you call them. I get a kick out of them. Duke was one of my favorite characters of the series. I think this movie tried to be creative. I appreciate it for that.
Jason goes to hell was bored and awful. Nothing like Friday the 13th movies. Jason went possessed into bodies, men killed people looks boring. I like normal Jason Voorhees kill people like Friday the 13th films. That Jason’s mask and costume looks badass but this movie sucks 😒
You have a couple things wrong. Females are most definitely the demographic for horror films. The thought that men make up the majority of the audience is a myth. The second thing is, Jason Goes to Hell is just as much of a Friday the 13th movie as the original. The only thing this movie does not have is a hockey mask in every other frame of the movie.
Just watched this movie for the first time expecting to hat it, and it actually may be my favorite of the series.
Having experienced the finger breaking scene with fresh eyes,
My only logical guess is Creighton, knowing Steven was important, broke his fingers so that
1. He’d have an excuse to call over a guard to break out, as we saw
I give it a 8.75/10
At least Adam Marcus tried something different with the franchise, and I respect him for that. He's actually a Facebook friend.
Jason jumps from bodies to bodies, hints that he's a deadite, then we watch Jason be portrayed by randoms. The only thing redeeming about this movie is the freddy cameo. This movie to me was ass.
Spenser Cruz I could barely sit through it feels nothing like a Friday movie
Freddy is not the only horror icon that makes a cameo in this movie though, the necronomicon from the evil dead series also makes a cameo, which is kind of bizarre
Yes I know. Such a cool moment for sure.
when I was a kid and started following Jason, a classmate told me about Freddy's hand grabbing Jason's mask. I thought that was too good to be true. I'm so glad for that scene!
Once again, great review!
At first, I thought that "Jason Gose to Hell" was one of the worst installments in this franchise because it was FAR removed from anything that had come before. I think it helped after viewing several of these movies back-to-back that it was nice to come across something WAY different form the typical hack and slash formula.
Jason as body snatcher may not make any sense, but it's HELL of fun.
Cant wait for the new Friday the 13th movie: Jason Goes To The Laundry Mat
+TheEpicElluminati What's funny is I'd still go see it haha!
Haha yeah that was a funny scene.
I love this movie as a guilty pleasure, the plot didn't make any sense whatsoever, but it's so entertaining. Great gore, acting, and characters.
There is another movie directed by Wes Craven called Shocker that you might like. It deals with a body to body character as well.
What I like about this movie is that it is different and the unique take it takes with the characters
Jason Goes to Hell is almost like the Halloween III of the Friday the 13th series
Agreed.

Jason had more screen time in Part 5: A New Beginning than this one
My fav part of JGTH was the beginning and the end when it was the real Jason
+Moviefilm 1 Yeah I just wish they would of given him the classic look and didn't give him a head like a marshmellow haha. Thanks for watching!
Same man, the end scene is actually really good
They screened this movie before it was released and added the crystal lake scenes to give it a Friday the 13th feel..
Are they even really a fan to begin with?”
I enjoy your honest analysis.
I think Jason Goes to Hell is a very well made film, from an anatomy of film perspective. It’s special effects and production value are high quality. It had a good cast. It’s plot was different, but I think welcome.
Richard Stange Thanks so much Richard. There’s definitely some fun to be had with this one.
Creighton Duke was pretty awesome. If remade, this movie could be really cool imo.
+TheMattMan095 Yeah Duke was really awesome and under-utilized. I wanted more of him.
"You don't use protection, you're done!"
I am homosexual. I saw the shaving scene added more shock value. I pulled for the protagonist as he tried to convince others that Jason was really back.
Creighton Duke should be in the next installment. He was a bad ass.
The director said he's getting a spinoff
The reason that this film is titled "Jason Goes to Hell: The Final Friday" instead of "Friday the 13th Part IX" or something similar is that New Line Cinema had bought the rights to the Jason Voorhees character from Paramount, but did not have the rights to the name "Friday the 13th".
When Creighton Duke is being interviewed and he demands $500,000 for the capture of Jason, he says, "For that, you get the mask, the machete, the whole damn thing." This is a reference to Jaws (1975) when Quint demands $10,000 to kill the shark. He says, "For that, you get the head, the tail, the whole damn thing."
One early concept for this movie was "Jason Goes To L.A" in which two rival gangs would be fighting.
The sheriff's surname is Landis, which is a reference to John Landis, director of An American Werewolf in London (1981) and Michael Jackson: Thriller (1982)
Josh's death won the Golden Chainsaw Award in Dead Meat's "Jason Goes to Hell: The Final Friday (R Rated Cut)" kill count, while Deborah Caldwell's death won the award in the Unrated Cut.
FBI Agent Elizabeth Marcus is named after the director, Adam Marcus.
In addition to his roles as Jason and the Security Guard, Kane Hodder also played Freddy Krueger's arm in the final scene, which technically makes him the only actor to play both Jason and Freddy
Jason's heart was made of gelatin and filled with fruit cocktail, mixed with black dye.
I love those
+Charlie g Thanks man. Yeah I'll probably hit up the Chuckys down the line. Thanks man.
your welcome. Sounds good
Just noticed watching IT 2017, Creighton Duke is Mike’s Grandpa in the Slaughterhouse. Just Sayin. Btw, I love this movie.
Great review and classic video of yours to come across DrumDums!! 😊👏🏾
Thank you Michael!
Mark & Brian from SoCal's FM 95.5 KLOS had a brief scene. They were the 2 Cops who had their heads smashed together by "Jason".
This is the only Friday movie that I haven't seen. I'm thinking that although I'm a Steven Williams fan, I'm going to stay away from this one. Great review!
+BramSLI1 Yeah Williams shines in it, but it's definitely not for everyone, and it doesn't feel like a Friday film overall.
I think this is the worst of the series
I loved JGTH. At least it had a good story and wasn't just a typical slasher flick. It tried more then the rest.
Nice review lee on this video. i have seen jason goes to the hell about 3 times. I will admit its not one of the best but i definitely enjoyed it. Especially the end scene with freddys glove. Oh and also im suprised you didnt mention this but The book of dead is in this film.
+Charlie g I know! I forgot to mention that...and the last time I watched it was the first time I noticed it. So cool!
Yep it sure is cool.
I do love this film, I think it kind of fails as a Friday movie but works well as a body horror. The FX are top notch and the actors are some of the best in the series. Kane Hodder for what little he gets to do it’s awesome as always.
I actually have a blast with it, but I don't see it as a Friday film. And that's ok.
Drumdums yeah we’re on the same page there 👍
An interesting fact is that Steven the main character in this movie was actually one of the main characters in the Friday the 13th Series
Jason goes to hell is still better than Jason takes Manhattan! :-D
+Daniel Pedersen Yes it is. I didn't realize that until I watched it last night haha.
that's debatable
ReviewTheMovie nah he punched a dudes head off, was in time square, two bad entries still.
ReviewTheMovie Nope.
Its much better than fucking Jason Takes Manhattan god I hated that movie
They said because he died so much he would have to be supernatural at this point
I did not like the mask melted into the face. But definitely some interesting aspects to this one.
Also I HAVE to check this out for Freddy's hand!
lol yea I remember watching this for the first time when I was 7 and just going ape shit over Freddies glove at the end.the Jason goes to hell is just as terrible now as it was then
+TheLateReviews Man you definitely need to check out the first 4....and then check out part 6 which is fun as hell. Is it October yet?
+TheLateReviews hat was / is Kane Hodder's hand in the Freddy glove !!
Upon rewatch I Iooked at your review and I like it more now as a guilty pleasure film not a perfect Jason film but I enjoyed the kills super gorey the third act the rebirth of Jason was awesome
craten Duke is funny ass hell . the breaking fingers part had me dying
i liked this one. love u and Codys reviews, keep it up.
The Unrated Version Rulez✊🏻!
I really liked this movie, the characters saved it for me, how did he get out of hell though for Jason x? I’m curious someone plz tell me, can we play around with time and assume Freddy resurrected him and after FvJ he was captured?
Adam Marcus definitely put some passion behind this.
this was way better than jason takes a manhattan boat!1, i don't care for male nudity myself (see enough of it at the gym) but michele clunie was the best! god she is beautiful!
I love that Adam made it his own.
here's three reasons why this movie sucks.1. Jason is only in for 10 mins. 2. a magic dagger? 3. is this a horror movie or some thriller
+StevenMetalSlayer 117 Yeah I forgot about the magic dagger haha. That was pretty stupid.
I like all friday 13 movies . Some more than overs . Great review though
+alex martin Yeah it's a fun series Alex.
Yep me to i enjoy them all some more than others but i love all the movies.
Really liked the look of Jason in this movie
Jason and His Mom rulez 🤘🤘🤘👍
Jason goes to hell is unique but totally lame.
saw this one at the theater when I was 15 , I haaaaaated it , the shaving WTFFFFF ???.............what was so disapointed is that after that mysterious ending of Jason takes Manhattan , we had so many questions unanswered , we waited 5 years to get this ? the body to body thing made me think automatically of the movie Shocker , was kind of surprised you didnt mention Shocker .
I gotta disagree with you on this , Friday in Manhattan was a lot more fun too watch than this one
I saw it opening night back in 93. I was 20.
Yeah It's not horrible. Definitely some interesting elements. But doesn't feel like a Friday movie.
Great entertaining review 😄
Thank you!
and by the way you were far too kind on this hot garbage .just kidding. in all sincerity you deserve more subs your video never disappoint me. keep up the great work
+Hunter sharp Thanks man. I'm having a blast doing this.
This isn't my favorite but I love it.
great video my man. I have to ask . What is your favorite slasher franchise?
+Hunter sharp Oh that's easy...Halloween. I'm obsessed with that franchise. That's why I reviewed it first. I wish I would've waited a bit because those were some of my first reviews and I'd like to do a better job in some of them. I actually re-reviewed part 6 because that's one of my favorites.
+Drumdums yea Halloween is my favorite franchise as well. Surprised that 6 is one of your favorites. Have you seen Halloween6 The Producers Cut?
Hunter sharp Absolutely. I even made my own hybrid cut of the producer's/theatrical cuts.
Cool so is the producers cut substantially better than the theatrical version?
Hunter sharp I prefer the theatrical overall. Much better 3rd act (completely different than the producer's cut). I recommend seeing both cuts though.
Never seen the movie and dont ever want to
It actually has some great kills in it. And the tent scene is one of the best in the franchise.
guys jason is back in 2017 in friday 13th 2 from friday 13th 2009
Yep. Hopefully this movie comes together. Can't wait!
looking forward to your review of jason x.
+stig100900 Thanks. I'm looking forward to doing that one...and Freddy vs Jason!
This is the most WHAT THE FUCK type of Jason movie.
I loved this film. I’m a true blue Friday fan and I still have this movie on heavy rotation.
I saw the "it" trailer too.....totally psyched!
Yeah looks really creepy!
Me and Cody Leach have a lot in common, unpopular opinions
#6 Movie
Negatives: Good concept but like Halloween Ends, Why?, Some Pacing Issues
Positives: Kills, Final Act, Still Entertaining, I like the execution
Sorry but Trapped on an Island and a 4.25/5
this was by far the worst in the franchise
+Blake Hibberts Haha this is probably my least favorite to watch.
Ugh, I've always hated this movie. So gross....and barely any actual Jason.
Never seen it but you assume women don't watch it
I put that finger scene on rewind
Jason Voorhees dad should be in the sequel. 😀👍
this is the only movie I don't like in the series.. actually I like Jason takes Manhattan.. it's just the name that can make or break the movie for some people.
I can't fault Adam Marcus for trying something different though.
The worst of the series and the only one I couldn't sit through til the end and the only one i don't own on DVD. Just terrible.
I hate any movie sequels this movie was basically used to be the prequel to movie jason vs freddy
I like Jason Goes to Hell. It was well made. It had a lot of great Friday elements.
Can u do Michel Myers vs Jason reaction fan made Blum house 🏡 it’s on you tube the person who made videos is called we watched A movie 🍿u gonna love it
Mike and Jay from WWAM are good friends of mine. We're actually doing a podcast together once the trailer drops.
Drumdums he did A reaction already to michel Myers vs Jason I want u to watch and do reaction if u can
i didn't know that the couples dated real life the ones who had sex in the tent i didn't know that when i saw this movie for the first time
Thumbs down. This movie was doo doo.
Spenser Cruz Oh...you have an opinion too. Sweet.
I'll take a Jason copycat over a demon slug any day though
Halloween 3 good? No way
What?! I love Halloween 3, but I did hate it the first time, so I get where you're coming from.
no hard feelings-I'm just a Michael Myers fan
-gd
Oh I totally get you bro. Myers is my boy!!
I watched it last night and this has been the worst movie I have ever watched. I can't believe how ridiculously bad it is. So bad you can even start laughing at it.
And that keyboard-generated music was horrible. I can't understand how that was a good idea.
My favourite film is number 2 and Freddie vs Jason cause in number 2 is the sack head Jason and Jason just kicks Freddie's ass
Love sack head Jason. Thanks for watching!
Rating: Humdrum
Can't say this film wasn't creative
Very true Anthony.
