It made sense at the time and it makes even more sense now! Look outwards, not inwards. Country's are entirely artificial, people are what it important.
I do not understand why some people die so fast. The world would need them. Their voice, their words, would be a powerful alternative to the trash that comes out of the mouths of many characters, both in the world of music and in the world of politics. Thanks Joe.
Jesus - we need the Clash now more than ever. Even one drop of Joe's spirit and energy would dilute the tepid mediocrity of music today. We're standing on the edge of apocalypse and no one is saying a word.

I really freaking truly madly deeply love Joe always and forever. He is dang very extremely beautiful and so incredible. Such a sweet soul oh dat face and those eyes of his.
I saw the clash in Dunstable around 1978. The whole night turned into a chaotic riot. The french girl group Louse got bottled and beer canned off stage. People were getting beaten up randomly. It was a really scary situation. I remember strummer came out on stage looking like Eddie Cochran. He was in a hail of missiles and he jumped down into the fighting crowd. Somehow he calmed them down, survived and the Clash played! Unforgettable night. RIP JOE, and the Queensway.
Hare Krishna I was a young punk in the late seventies and saw the stranglers and the clash Etc and both were the best live at the time and. remember the saddest moment when I heard JOE had died
A great man. The world is much better that he lived. Interesting to speculate on the interplay between The Clash and The Pistols. Always wondered whether John Lydon copped the title for his book "Anger is Power" from "Clampdown."
The secret of The Clash WAS ‘ Joe Strummer ‘ as this demonstrates. He had more in common with Bob Dylan than Scuzzy 16 yr olds from my estate - but like all the Educated Bohemians around Mc Claren , these people Organised against The Establishment ( such as the GLC ) without whom , Punk would’ve remained as “ Garage “ or “ Pub Rock “ . My first “ Punk “ 7” was “ Erotic Neurotic “ by The Saints , on a white label - from the son of a neighbour whom worked for BBC Radio Solent. 🏴😇❤️from Wessex

The Strummer interview footage is priceless for its concise insightfulness, especially after reading three Clash and Strummer biographies in a row. However, this great footage couldn't be in a more poorly conceived documentary if it tried, between the young narrator's cliches like "punk poet," "carburetor at full choke" etc and the firing of Topper Headon and Mick Jones shown in the wrong sequence. This is a documentary made by and for people who don't care about the Clash, and as such, I find it offensive. Its creators would do better to disappear into their "smart" phones, their next pint of Guinness, or both.

Good documentary, he's a very cool guy, I had the pleasure of drinking all night with this guy and chatting shit all night and into the morning, drinking wine out of a box backstage at Glastonbury 2005, me and him were around a fire and taking it in turns to put records on the decks, he commended me for the choice of Little Bitch by The Specials. The thing is, I didn't know who he was until I went home and googled his name. We met up at other festivals after that, and he knew I was always blagging it in but he always had time for me and my mate no matter who was hounding him backstage. Very cool guy, he had a lot of cool things to say, and he'd love nothing more than having a pint and a chat. I'll always remember that up all night banter with a cool guy, drinking box wine until the sun rises, it just so happened to be Joe Strummer
