Eater Holidays is almost over and I don't feel like I had fulfilled my potential and what I could I've really done, my main predicted grades are 5 and 6 I hope I can surpass all of them
Don’t worry, almost everyone feels like this in Easter holiday! A lot of people set themselves sooo much work to do and end up not even completing half. The main thing is you don’t let this affect your motivation and continue pushing through. Who knows, you might even be more productive during the term time than in the holidays. Get those past papers in and you will be good 🎉
@@SmileWithSola thank you so much you videos are so helpful, I've been watching you for sometime, and your advices has helped me so much 😊
i have recently been upset because i always get lazy and i dont end up revising the subjects i struggle at simply because i dont enjoy it, this video gave me a wake up call and motivated me to start grinding on the subjects im bad at. Thank you

I'm on a grade three for most of my subjects I just hope I can get higher than a five in most subjects and I'm starting to put in more effort
in my november mocks, i got 3s in both literature and language, but in these spring mocks i managed to get a 7 in language and a 5 in literature. i’m not even sure how i got there 😭 but i know your videos have been a great motivation for me to keep improving, thank you so much 💗 .
I got 3/4s in my sciences, then i got 5s and 6s in spring, now im looking for 7+ (simply because I need to start really pushing with revision i know i can do it).. just remember that the only limits you set yourself are only in your mind, we can get the grades we want and do well, now is the time we put in the work required and keep moving forward.
that’s a huge improvement and it shows you’re really capable of getting the top grades - congratulations!!! you should be super proud of yourself, it’s a proper show of your strength ‼️
Hard work pays off🤌
Omg well donee
so happy for you! keep going x
Im around grade 5/6 for majority of my subjects and a couple around 7 but I just feel like I have wasted so much time and haven’t fulfilled what I could’ve got to so I hope I can get a couple more 7s and an 8 🤞
Most people feel this way. Just keep going, and do as many past papers as you can. If you could do at least one everyday that would be amazingg

My GCSE grades are a very mixed bag, im passing all of my subjects but for some subjects I’ve gone from 4/3 to 5/4 (which is the lowest I got in my second set of mocks) and some subjects I’ve gone from 8 to 6, which I’m very happy with but I’m scared I won’t do as good during the real exam. I know which subjects I need to revise on but since they’re things like History and Science I’m more worried about memorisation than anything, thank you so much for the tips!

i think she did in y10
im predicted a 9 in everything and im very anxious because i get so overwhelmed in exams easily. good luck to everyone tho!
such a great video thanks sola!! what’re ur opinions on study leave?💗
I personally didn't get study leave and I did fine, just make sure you focus on doing work and don't get distracted. Staying in school lowkey helped me to not treat it like a holiday and work for school hours. I probably wouldn't have done the same amount if I was at home. If you have study leave, set yourself a realistic timetable - kinda like a school day but probably shorter lessons and have a long lunch and morning break. Have a cut off time and look after yourself :)
I really have no motivation to revise but I just want to maintain my good grades (I have mostly 8s and 9s aside from further maths) so i reallyy need to revise because i wanna do this well in the real thing! just really hoping it’s not tissue or the emigree for english lit tho 😭

When had u finished revising for GCSEs? Like when should I be ready?
@@Fatsumo81 basically, you should have covered all the content by now. And with 1 month or so to your GCSEs, you shouldn't be rewriting notes. Rather, you should focus more on using past paper questions effectively, doing flashcards, and highlighting EVERYTHING, is not the most effective way. But past papers point out the bits that you need to focus your revision on. But personally, I'd finished all my revisions before May. You've got this!
@@peaceadeoye247 thank you, I have 5weeks 5 days til my 1st exam, I’m finishing off memorising content in a week, then doing past papers in the 4weeks and 5days, does this sound good? Also with past papers do the questions repeat, so should I do every past paper from 2017-23 like lots of times until I’ve memorised the answers
Im sorry my reply is long
TYSM for your help, and well done with your GCSEs!
@@Fatsumo81 For subjects like maths and science, there are patterns in the questions. Especially in maths, I will advise that you learn the techniques on how to answer a question. You don't need to memorise every single question and focus more on the questions you got wrong and find out where you won't wrong and correct your mistakes.

I have always not bothered revising because i just though it was a waste of time cus my homework is decent but who cares about monthly tests.
I normally got W's (fail) or a grade 2 or 3 and im predicted a 4 for my GSCE's . I didnt really care about the results all my years until year 11 around now because i realize

But it is annoying cus idk if its my autism which makes it harder to focus or if its just soo boring my brain switches off tbh i know i can revise and gets 9's if i wanted too but its if i can be asked to do it though, its just when someone challenges me to something hard i push through and somehow manage to do it, like once i managaed to learn how to do rubix cube in a week and kept on practicing and was the best in my shcool at it but then lost interest and forgot how to do it but thats not the point but the point is im more than capable to get a 7-8 on GSCE but its whether i can change my mentality and start properly revising. ANYWAY IMA COMEBACK IN MONTH OR A FEW WHEN I GET MY RESULTS!

If I got mostly 7s, 8s and 9s in my mocks, do you think it’s possible to get all 9s at gcses?
@Smile With Sola, Please reply if you see this. The thing that helps me memorise the most is using flashcards, and so as I'm covering the content,I'm also making Anki flashcards, and before I sleep I'll go through these flashcards. However with the time left, do you think i should use PMT flashcrads or keep making my own, because to be honest making my own helps much more.
Yep definitely that's exactly what I'm doing

@@jouad5611 My initial aim was to ANKI everything- however there is no time now. So PMT is the most efficient option & its just as good.

i know my current grades arent that good, is it possible to do this and reach those grades if i do pretty much just anki + recall (i dont do anki for english tho i do quotes on real flashcards it feels nicer , but shall still try to recall them) and then practice questions , then a past paper?
how many past papers would be good a day ifi want to reach those grades. i would lover higher than what ive predicted myself i dream of pretty much straight 7s and 8s but i know that most likely wont happen at this rate.
You got this! Work hard
at least 4 past papers a day
Sola, your advices are so helpful thank u so much! I know we only have 4 weeks left but do you think I can move up from grade 5s and 6s to all 7s If I put a lot of effort in?
I can’t promise anything for sure but if you put in the work now, do the past papers and focus on your weaknesses you should see a lot of progress! Good luck in your exams 🥰
Thank you so much for the vid! I have been revising since the beginning of the year, and am currently on all 8s and 9s. The only exception, BOTH ENGLISHES I am on a 6 and 7 any tips?
Omg do u have any advice on getting a 8/9 in physics and maths
@@moonlightbae744 maths - watch some vids and do paper, the grade 9 ones, physics - watch a vid that does a brief overview of everything then do papers. i did this and got 8s in maths and my sciences (9 in physics). Also what grade is ur english cause if its grade 7 i need your help since im working at a 6 for english as it is my weakest subject
physics and maths tutor have some helpful notes for english lit and as for english language id say look up some youtube vids for the structure of the questions ect and then look at model answers and genuinely just do lots of practice ☺️ this took me from a 5 in year ten to now where i’m currently at a grade 9 !!
@@rayhanuddin6180 bro thanks this is so
Helpful. My only issue in maths is memory wallahi I find is so easy but forget stuff so quickly. For English I don’t know my grade honestly cuz I moved schools and
haven’t done mocks at all but for language a friend of mine who did her GCSEs last year went from a grade 2 and 3 to a 8 In the real thing and the only thing she did was pre wrote a story for Q4 and tweaked it to what the question was asking and then she had time to complete the rest of the paper. If timing isn’t ur issue and it’s mainly analysis and structure I suggest using Mr salles as he has tons of videos of analysising and stricture. Use him for literature to ad tbh literature is very straight forward all it is quotes and analysis use his grade 9 quotes. Oh and for language don’t ever miss a question out make sure to do every question even if ur not done with the other ones cuz missing out one question can bring u down a grade straight away.
@@ellallouise English is the dominant subject in my new school even kids in the bottom sets be pulling out 7s and my friends who always get 9s in English do everything I just told u I’ve also improved in English a lot using Mr salles. Also for English language honestly just put a timer on and practice a question everyday.
I have been revising kinda effectively now, but my grades are mostly 4-6s, do you think I can go to 7s-9s?
My target grades vary from 6s to 8s however I have gotten 3s,4s and Us on my mocks. I don’t know what to do
Hey
i have my gcses in a month ill come back nd edit w the results i got rn im on 4-6s in mocks i just want 7s tbh
I'm in the exact same position, good luck and im sure youll ace them
I hate past papers now at A level 😭 at gcse it was great but when I have all essay subjects it kills me
should i do past papers or exam questions for each topic ?
I revised for a day and I went from a 7 to a 9 in mocks 😂

How did y revise 😂
@@hijabiixgirll just listened in class and was top in every thing... other than that i hit chest and leg day in the gym and still do....letss get it !!!!
@@Chronaze sheesh
In class I feel like the teachers waffling
I pay attention but nothing goes in my head
@@hijabiixgirll Yh that’s normal but I think about “why” not “how” what he says happens in mostly science and it creates long term memory in that topic. It’s a method my sister used and she’s currently in Oxford university getting top grades in everything she does.
@@Chronaze too late now 😭
Only got like 11 days left in school
Also some teachers just bore me I can’t even concentrate when they teach
These are the grades I got without revision in mocks:
Bio 9
Chemistry 9
Physics 9
Maths 8
English Language 8
English Literature 9
Chinese 9
DT 7
Geography 7
RPE 8
I haven't revised at all but idk if I'll be alright.
okay sooooo idk what to do i’ve revised this half term but i feel like i’ve wasted this cause i’ve been focusing mainly on french because my speaking exam is on wednesday maths and science but now i’m just doing active recall remembering flashcards whilst doing exam question and every saturday it’s a paper would u say that’s a good way to revise ?
Do as many past papers as you can, maybe do them rather than specific exam questions - it will help you to cover everything. Only do specific questions for the topics you lose the most marks on.
