We just sold out 2009 F-150 Platinum and are down to my SUV. My husband works so much that he cannot even find the time to look for a new truck, but we know we want F-150 XTL and I've made it my goal to learn about them for him. Your video is helping me understand what type of truck we need. Thank you for sharing this, it has helped me so much and after many pauses and taking so many notes, I sent my husband this video! I'm currently in the market for a new truck and have been eyeing a 2022 Lariat 4X4 with the 2.7L and have been on the fence. Thank you for videos like this. It makes me feel like the 2.7L for my uses is going to be the engine to go with. I tow a 3000lb boat with trailer every once in awhile but usually it's just me doing my daily thing. Much appreciated!
I traded in a 2.7 STX for a 3.5 XLT Sport, with the max tow package. Pulling our 6k travel trailer, there is no comparison. The 3.5 has far more low end torque. It makes towing effortless. The 2.7 was impressive though. Gotta say, I love the 3.5. It is an animal.

@@paulhunter9613 Well yeah, with the same weight you have a big naturally aspirated pushrod 2 valve v8 with a 4 speed auto vs a 2.7 dual overhead cam 4 valve turbo and a 10 speed auto with a much more aggressive first gear, so of course it will feel more powerful. As for the fuel economy, well its dual injection 4 valve variable valve timing with half the displacement.
I went with the 2.7 and it has been great for me. I pull a 18' bass boat regularly and it has no issues with that. I have not towed my tractor with the 2.7 yet but I only tow it 2-3 times per year anyways so I decided I'd rather get the better mpg for daily driving even if it doesn't pull the tractor as well as my 2014 5.0. So if you had to choose between a 2021 2.7 twin turbo or a 2021 3.5L both 4WD which one would you choose? I currently have 2018 2.7 eco no twin turbo just a RWD sometimes I feel like it lacks power it’s my daily driver. I drive about 60 miles a day does a twin turbo really make a difference?

I have a 2018 2.7l ecoboost and was wondering if you could provide some insight. Whenever I cold start my truck, it will idle a bit high and if I drop it into drive within the first minute or so of start up it hard jerks forward. Also after a cold start, while switching from 3rd to 4th gear, the RPMs will hold and shoot to about 3.5k, hard shift into 4th, then drop back down to about 2300 rpms. It's incredibly annoying. Any idea what's going on?
@@crisp5951 unfortunately, no. Ive just been letting it idle longer on start up and it seems to help a bit, at least with the jerking from park to drive. Flashed the computer several times and it only temporarily fixed the rought gear shift from 3rd to 4th

You’re comparing a Gen 1 2.7 with a six speed and no dual injection, and less torque than the Gen 2 vs a Gen 2 ten speed 3.5. So not an apples to apples comparison.
Your 2.7 is a Gen 1. Your 3.5 is a Gen 2. The Gen 2 2.7 is even better with dual injection, more torque at a lower rpm and a flatter power band overall.

Did he say water cooled exhaust for the 2.7?
Yes he did
very mixed review,,,,,,, sounds like you prefer the 2.7 in general, but you rate the 3.5 and 5 higher at the end....
yea. the 2.7 is most powerful per liter, but least powerful overall...
I'm averaging 21mpg in my 2019 2.7 and it has plenty of power!
Very good video, thanks
I’ve had two 3.5 and the towing is far better. Had a 2016 2.7 is was good but not as comfortable towing.
Hard to compare these... The fuel system is hands down better in the the 18+.
Yes! The older ones were still quick but dual injection is a lot better!
@@DS-TRUCKS yeah mine is tuned by mpt at 421hp 536lbs. But I can't compete. Check it out if you get bored.
@@vicsstang89 omg yes. About to look now.
3.5 EcoBoost! 100%!
I wouldn't go with the 21s just yet
3.5 all day
@@DS-TRUCKS a 2.7 is a better motor it will last longer do your research

My truck hasa 3.5 H.O. ecoboost and my wife's Fusion has a 2.7 ecoboost. Totally different vehicles, and both are tuned and my Raptor feels quicker. That said that 2.7 tuned in that Fusion Sport get over 100mph very quickly!
From what I've experienced the 2.7 is much more durable
I have a 2018 2.7l ecoboost and was wondering if you could provide some insight. Whenever I cold start my truck, it will idle a bit high and if I drop it into drive within the first minute or so of start up it hard jerks forward. Also after a cold start, while switching from 3rd to 4th gear, the RPMs will hold and shoot to about 3.5k, hard shift into 4th, then drop back down to about 2300 rpms. It's incredibly annoying. Any idea what's going on?
Idk. Sounds like something going on with the trans 🤔
software flash usually fixes bugs like that, remember they are mechanical computers lol
Late comment but Did you figure out what the problem was ?
@@crisp5951 unfortunately, no. Ive just been letting it idle longer on start up and it seems to help a bit, at least with the jerking from park to drive. Flashed the computer several times and it only temporarily fixed the rought gear shift from 3rd to 4th
@@meekhd thank you for responding, i hope you are able to fix it eventually
The answer is neither if you insist on buying a Ford get the Godzilla engine or a diesel
I have a 2gen raptor. Wish the 2.7 was an option.
3.5 Ecoboost drag race 2020 6.7 powerstroke NEW Video dropping today - ruclips.net/video/KULd7y3prn0/видео.html CHECK IT OUT - Let me know what you think.
Luv my 2016 2.7 eco boost wanna chip it up I heard I can get 500hp what's my best chip
Doritos
You are obviously east coadt or midwesr. In California no one leases a truck bcuz you would supercede your alloted mileage real quick.
Who ran their fingers down the side of the black truck? Id lose my shit if someone did that to my truck. lol
You’re comparing a Gen 1 2.7 with a six speed and no dual injection, and less torque than the Gen 2 vs a Gen 2 ten speed 3.5. So not an apples to apples comparison.
What?
Your 2.7 is a Gen 1. Your 3.5 is a Gen 2.
The Gen 2 2.7 is even better with dual injection, more torque at a lower rpm and a flatter power band overall.
@@jbostock29 the 2.7 in this video is gen 2. It's a 19.
@@jbostock29 The 2.7 was Gen 2 in 2018 with the men's cycle refresh. When it came out with a new front end. The Gen 2 3.5 EcoBoost started in 2017, right before the refresh.
@@DS-TRUCKS oh. I thought it was older. My bad
Are you hiring?
3.5 is the best
💯
Powerstroke is King. You don’t F@$k with 6.7. Do you a favor-toss that 6.2 to scrap
6.2 was a great engine
@@DS-TRUCKS you said great with 0 reasons. Fuel mileage, torque, well, you have none of that. Great!
