I've been digging at this one off and on for years. I cleaned out the very front of it a couple years back and really don't have a choice to go deeper inside the damn thing. Me and a friend went back. Opened it way up. Brought out .07 so that wasn't t terrible lol
Great job getting that Au fam. Don't worry about the weight. The gold I find is super fine. It takes a lot of it to weigh 😂. That's why I don't do it in my videos. The water makes it look like it more 😂. Just keep on having fun and living the dream fam. You're doing great work. Gold Squad Out 🤠
Nice job for the culvert and I would never have thought of doing that! But it makes sense! Thanks for sharing and GTSY! I’ll definitely be checking in later for more of your adventures! Cheers!
Gold sure does like to play jokes on ya! I thought for sure with all that black sand you would've had more shiney! That culvert looks like a job for the entire "Sierra Blasters"!! 😅 At least it looked like the bugs weren't a problem this time! 😊
There are stupid, like fruit flies in there, but they don't bother. I've worked this culvert for a long time. I did pull out good amounts one time like 4 years ago at the very beginning of it. This particular spot isn't really "gold rich" so it may take 20 years for it to replenish 🤣🤣
Woohoo my favourite kinda prospecting ❤ love that you do these culvert videos on the regular. Cheers from Downunder mate 👍 just got home from work and cracked a beer 🍺
Reminds me of flood gold we find....really small. How do you like your vac? Looking at the new one that has a drain so i don't have to mess with opening it up to get the excess water...pour it right in a pan.
@Goldpan-SuntanNM I am still thinking about modifying it with a drain. Think there's a drain for something that can be used. Forgotten all about it...good winter project. Would like to use it more next year
@a3skywarrior929 well as soon as you said there is one with a drain I know of fittings I can get at one of the local plumbing supply houses we use at work. I though to myself how easy it would be to do that!
@@Goldpan-SuntanNM It's often difficult to understand why some people bother to do what they do. What part of fun makes up no gold and hard work and possibly a sore back. Yet they go back for more at their next opportunity. But don't get me wrong , I LOVE HARD WORK , I could sit and watch you doing it all day. So keep those tapes coming.
i wouldnt have thought to check a culvert or what kind of material would be in it. makes me curious with the area around where im at. Where is the water coming from and going to, another question. good catch
Yeah may want to get the locals perspective on the culverts up there in your area. Down here it's a hit or miss situation with them. Gully washers that come through can also change the gold dropping dynamic within the riffles inside the culvert. Meaning sometimes the water can hit so hard that is washes everything out and it's left sparkly clean
I've dug all that at the very front in the years gone past. Now I'm moving back a little bit lol since I snagged all the other stuff already and this area isn't historically gold rich. Hopefully in a few years maybe at thr very front it will replenish itself. Thanks Silver!
I'd be sticking to dry land unless you can get something from the end of the colvert without digging two plus feet deep. Gravity assist on the banks, way easier.
Oh hell ya, everytime I go see damp soil I always eyeroll.... I frequent these places because within the pipe the levels can change depending on gully washers or whatnot. But if I go, I don't turn away, I dig it no matter what the levels are. Thanksnfor watching Arte!
Not a bad idea and I’m sure it’s fun who would of thunk to even look there I’ll tell you who this guy as I point to you haha hood stuff and entertaining
Well I wish I could be more prosperous with culverts but unfortunately I never get much gold this way. But youre right it is still fun getting out there and getting some exercise!
Oh hell ya. In the past at the very front of the culvert I got some good gold. This spot takes forever to replenish so this thing may take another 20 years before its good again 🤣🤣
3 pieces for uncovering probably 12 inches of one of the riffle. If I uncovered a 3 foot by 3 foot area That would be at least 21 pieces maybe .05 or .07 which is at least something
@@Goldpan-SuntanNM I learned that sometimes gold layers are paper thin, because of small clay beds, and so where the gold lays, that's it for the area that holds it. I was at my river this spring, during high waters, the black sand was incredible, and so I went out in summer, and started digging, and crapped my pants on my first pan. Around 2000 colors, so next day went back and hand panned almost 4 5gallon screened pails, and almost nothing.. there was no gold below that layer. Now I just scrape the black sand areas, unless there's large round stone, then I just classify it, and run it through my sluice. This next week I'm going out. I'll take a video of the gravity sluice running and email it to you
Oh definatly prospecting is crazy like that! That's exactly how culverts are. Then you throw in an occasional gully washer and it screws up everything! 🤣🤣 yeah that's cool email me that for sure!
@@Goldpan-SuntanNM will do for sure. Another thing to think about, is gold can walk backwards, when the right turmoil occurs with a wash, and large natural riffles, like boulders, cement edges, and trees. In your culvert, I'd look right at the end of that pipe, below the bottom lip
It's hit and miss digging culverts, maybe if you got a big area cleaned out. Anyhow glad you out and about still after it!

Nice Shannon looks like a nice shady spot to work. Hell yea getting that shiny awesome thanks for sharing
Yeah nice and cool that's for sure! Thanks for watching big dog!

Always see it as a hobby, mate. You tried it and have new insights. This is important !
Half of the work is just like this! No worries here on my end it was still a great day!
Howdy, glad to see you out and about.
Hey Llano! Thanks man!
I've seen some good gold come from culverts. Good luck. #AGM
I pulled some good amounts from the very front of this one in the past but this place doesn't replenish very fast. But ya just never know. Haha
now ya know!!
#Stupidpipe #Stupidsoarback #Stupidemptyscale #LMAO
Cool video man, culverts are just fun to prospect! And you found some gold! I have a couple Culver’s in mind myself.
Yeah I like them because usually I can get the truck fairly close! 🤣🤣
Looks like fun 😊
It was a great day that's for sure!

Cracking coldies after a long day at work is sometimes totally nessary. Yeah these culverts usually kick my ass but I love doing it anyway :)
Great that you found some gold there
Too bad the scale didn't say it had way more than I found 🤣🤣 Thanks Eagle Eye!
Great adventure, makes me wanna get down to the river badly!
Dress up and bundle up it's that time of the year! Thanks Scovian!

I like the vacuum, very portable and light is why I like it the most. A different style with a drain would be nice that's for damn sure!

Thanks for going to all that trouble so we don't have to.
Well presented and entertaining video just the same.

You should be working the entrance of the culvert pipe, not the exit. That's where the gold would drop out first.

@@Goldpan-SuntanNMawesome! That's what I like about gold deposition in certain locations. Regardless of what others say, it does replenish itself.
First 😊
hell yeah, go get it...
I tried but it didn't play out too good 🤣🤣
That pipe looks like a real pain real deep to dig good job though
Yeah the water has been running slow through it depositing alot of material in it. There used to be water that ran through it all year around.

Shhhhhh!!! Don't say that too loud! 🤣🤣 there ain't no gold over here! Thanks for watching man and have yourself a great night!
Get back over there and get more!
Break back, work fingers to bone, oh yeah, I'll be back over there

I'll recruite you for the next time I head out to this one and I'll hold you to it!! 😁
Got a little!
That's exactly what she always tells me!
Ever try a metal detector when searching culverts? 😁
All that darn rebar in the concrete and regular corrugated metal they are made of make for a real difficult time with a metal detector. 🤣🤣
¡Gringo Guapo!
Sure was a lot of black sand in the upper layer hey?
Yeah strange how the material laid in there. Just goes to show culverts can be not the typical gold principle prospecting
