EMD 1010J engine, it's a rework of the 265H 4 stroke they designed for the SD90's, though is a 12 cylinder so more like the SD89. Both the GEVO's and the new t4 emd's are both big V12's now so would sound pretty similar, just the EMD's are way way more heavily muffled
It makes me sad that it doesn't sound like an EMD but I do find it funny that it sounds like an Alco now
EMD still makes 2-stroke diesel (the 710) of the SD70ACE.
Not a big fan for how quite it was but I did like how it kinda sounded like a 7fdl
makes me sad that it doesn’t have the trademark emd whine-like sound coming from the engine
GE Engine or prime mover inside of 7231? Sounds like it

Wow EMD invented a GEVO lol
That's a nice yellow locomotive! What's the name of that railroad company locomotive? The print is small.
@@jamesinman1198 It is a demonstrator unit for Progress Rail/EMD.
they removed the air start?
its a 16 cylinder, why need one when you can have electric starter
That was uneventful. I'll take a turbocharged 645 prime mover any day over these hunks of junk.
That is so sadly uneventful.
