Hello, and welcome to my channel! I normally railfan around Morton Grove, Illinois and other northern suburbs of Chicago since it is closest to where I live. I am now persuing graphic arts at college, so time hasn't been kind when it it comes to uploading stuff. But nonetheless, please enjoy!
KCS (CPKC) 4805 leads CPKC 149 in Des Plaines, plus other UP/CPKC action!
For the first time, one of the CPKC painted motors led onto the C&M Sub with train 149 in tow. It was mid dpu on 148 overnight, and was not the first CPKC motor on the subdivision thanks to CP 4412 being ferried some weeks prior. Included prior is some footage of both UP train MCHAL and CPKC train 246, which kept 149 on hold briefly at Bryn Mawr.
UP MCHAL: UP 8260, UP 4334, UP 6337, UP 7661, UP 7210
CPKC 246: CP 8833 lead, KCS 4605 rear dpu

CSXT 2050 runs around their train (Y125) in Burns Harbor
Просмотров 76 часов назад
I had just arrived in Chesterton, but some scanner chatter revealed this dance going on on the Porter Branch. Seeing as the line between Willow Creek and Porter is hardly used still and adorns tri-lights, curiosity got the best of us and we found their train in Burns Harbor right by a set of them, ready to be tied back onto. 10-17-24
CN SD75IACC/GECX ET44AC lead CN B746, plus B791 with SD75I leader at Wheeling

A fun little set of units from the Waukesha Sub after rush hour subsided. Another new SD75IACC rebuild moseyed its way down to Schiller Park, with a GECX ET44AC in trail. A B791 escaped Schiller Park before they came down as well, with an SD75I and Dash 9 leading. B791: CN 5747, CN 25xx B746: CN 8301, GECX 2038, dpu CN 2941 10-7-24

A pair of deathstars on the Waukesha is an uncommon treat, though has been occurring more than usual this year since they've been occasionally sending them north for A446 power when they need extra power. 10-13-24

What was supposed to be a quick run for KCS 4859 took forever after it went into emergency on top of Rondout. The rest of the action is just other stuff we acquired while waiting, it was a beautiful Friday night to be out so the wait was very bearable. 10-4/5-24
CP 7012 leads CPKC 247 at Morton Grove... plus stuck brake and Amtrak Hiawatha
Просмотров 18221 день назад
A rather exciting leader for 247 today, with a problematic boxcar that gave them issues just out of Bensenville, all the way onto Rondout where they finally set it out. First a runaround hose, then stuck brakes as you'll see toward the end of the video. Enjoy a clip of Amtrak 336 with an NPCU leading at the beginning as well. UP Herzog ballast train at Park Ridge and Norwood Park- rare territory!
Просмотров 149Месяц назад
Seeing road power east of Deval is a very rare sight... and such was the case two nights in a row on the Harvard Sub with ballast to be dumped east of Mayfair, and even in downtown at the Lake Street interlocking! It was a few years ago when I got a Herzog move in the daytime, and needless to say these are typically the only opportunity to get road power here. Night time work blocks were the wa...

Is this in Illinois?
@@eddieg749 Indeed so.
B40-8 can still run 😮😊
Looks a,bit stormy looking 😢😮😅
The GG1 is permanently inoperable, it's main transformer was removed a long time ago as it was stuffed full of nasty carcinogenics. Though even if the transformers were in, it has the same problem as the old AEM-7 does as it ran on the same lines, and both requires 12Kv AC, 25Hz. The AEM-7 also operates on more voltages, but it's all above 10KV and AC, so still won't work, sadly. Technically Little Joe is incompatible as well because it takes 1,500V DC and the pantographs don't place nice with the overhead lines meant for trolly poles instead of pantographs, but they have a trick to make it work, and the analog nature of it means it will still work undervoltaged, they just need to open the throttle more to make it go.

I saw those same trains, and when i heard a K5LA horn, i was like oh shit its a train meet
Listening to the noise the engines made as they passed, it seems like only the lead and third position engine were actually running and outputting power. The trailing second unit was dead quiet as it rolled by.
@@edy21865 Quite possibly. The DMIR eventually was taken off and they've been using just the ICs since.
