"Don't you think the Beach Boys are boss?"....I love this movie.....😍
You would you grungy little twerp. 🙂
The Beach Boys *are* boss! 🙌
Boss? Lol..WTF is that?
Boss meaning cool. A 60’s gem of a word. Right there with groovy, neat etc.
Great music from Great times.
Perfect song for the Ending!
Such an appropriate song to accompany this legendary American film.
As an elder millennial, I’m just now realizing that my high school days were similar to this, just the ‘90s version. Instead of Wolfman Jack, everyone was listening to Delihlah. This movie documents the end of a “summer of fun”-a metaphor for the end of an idyllic era for being a teenager-the last year before Vietnam started. I graduated in 2000, and a year later 911 would happen when I was in college. The ‘90s were similarly a golden era of music and being a kid with a car, without cell phones. Somebody should do a remake of American Graffiti set in 1999 or 2000. Wall-to-wall sound with Nirvana etc.
Lol..The 90's were in NO way, like the 60,'s
Set it in the 70’s. Call it Dazed & Confused. 😂
I saw this movie on late-night TV when I was 15 I'm 58 now and it's still one of my all time favorites
RIP Cindy Williams, always such a cutie. This movie is legendary.
And now Suzanne Somers as well. She had a memorable role in American Graffiti.
I was born 10 years late.......
So Bitter Sweet memories. Saddens me to see how much times have changed. Love the Beach Boys
I love the Beach Boys!!! Fabulous music 🎶
Hadn't seen the movie in ages but watched it the other night. When this song came on, it took me right back to those times and those warm summer nights just cruising around. My father used to wonder what we got out of just driving around and around, and I'd say "It's fun!" He just didn't get it! 😁
I am happy to say, that I have a copy of this movie on DVD and VHS.
Incredibly beautiful montage, thank you for putting this together. One of the greatest Beach Boys songs and one of the greatest movies
The music from "The Graduate" and "American Graffiti" is truly Inseparable from the film.
Great movies and great music, but I disagree. All of the songs in American Graffiti were hits on their own long before the film was made, and I believe only one song (Mrs. Robinson) was actually written for The Graduate.
American Grfitiy Best Movie All Time.
The final scene makes me cry every single fucking time..
You are not the only one
Our high school had an all night party after our graduation, starting with a dance in the high school gym with a live band, then off to the movies to see "The Silencers" with Dean Martin, bowling after the movie, then back to the high school for breakfast.
I had my daddy's station wagon to do all of these activities, and I cruised all around town before going to the dance. When I finally got there, I stood outside of the door, leaned up against the building, and this thought popped into my head - "Oh my word! I am now responsible for my own self!" Real life is now the new reality.
Steve to Curt - "You can't stay 17 forever. We're not kids anymore."
Thanks ! I thought i was the only one ❤
❤
One of if not the greatest movie of all time
I love this song ❤️
Yea,it's so Boss!!
I wish they wouldn't put those pop ups on at the end of a video
Thanks for putting this up!
2023 marks the 50th Anniversary of American Graffiti.
Saw it in the theater. Wonderful film with terrific music from the Beach Boys, Del Vikings, Chuck Berry, Buddy Holly, and many others.
I love the beach boys so much ❤
Love the '55 Chevy.
Even though the song is 1964, and the setting is 1963, you can see 1973 showing through very clearly in the cast, people, and personalities. A trip back in time in every way.
Dennis coming from left field with the "not for us now"
This song was the perfect way to end American Graffiti.
This song was used in the movie "American Graffiti".
l know at the ending credits l have whatch it a couple of times
The final scene with Dreyfus on the plane heading off to military service reminds me of myself in 1966.
I think he was heading off to college.
He was going to join the Peace Corps.
Notes at the end of the film say Curt ended up in Canada (presumably to avoid the draft?) Terry went to Vietnam and was MIA.
Eu acho que ele foi para faculdade, e para fugir um pouco do clima chamado, Guerra Fria.
Thanks for your service Eric
My favorite movie of all time.
Love this song, Summer in the 80s.
80s? Not 1980s. Try 1960s.
There's another interesting connection to a Beach Boy in this clip. The '55 Chevy was also featured in 1971's Two Lane Blacktop, which starred James Taylor, Dennis Wilson and Warren Oates. Dennis, of course, was the Beach Boys' drummer.
And?
@@BAKER22-l4u That's all. No and. Just another connection people might find interesting.
Brilliant film, takes me back to when I was sixteen when this came out. The world made sense then not like now. Fantastic cast and music, sad long lost days....👍👍👍
Such an awesome movie.
And such an awesome song.
INDISCUTIBLEMENTE UNA DE LAS MEJORES Y MAS BELLAS CANCIONES DE TODOS LOS TIEMPOS
Agree...love that song...along with most of the Beach Boy catalog...
I skipped school to American Grafitti in the theatre on its release .. got into so much trouble , but it was worth it.
Best movies ever made
The Richard Dreyfuss character was headed for college as he won a scholarship
Was the 1st Movie I took a date too..
And?
And?
A fairly simple looking car crash, but back then few people were seat belts so.....
Awesome man. Just awesome
I always hoped BRIAN WILSON would come up with an alt. track that had another verse or two to it!!!
Reminds me of my youth in Syracuse NY before I went off to college. Curb cruising was what we called it, driving around looking to pick up girls, Innocent and fun times.
CooL !
Wonderful
Far as that race Milner was winning then in a quick second Falfa came neck & neck about to pass 'til he swerved and landed in the ditch
