Umm is it just me or was this video filmed in soft focus? I cleaned my screen 3 times and my glasses twice! Please let me know, Laurel! Oh wait - it’s suddenly clear! Thank you!
Hey, Laurel, thank you for reminding me of the ink block stamping: forgot that I love doing this with a round block and a couple of colours or three, then, once it‘s dry, go over the „lines“ between the colour sections with a white / black/ gold / silver pen - you get a kind of fantasy planet. Might try this for Christmas cards with some peace on earth sentiments… Kind regards from Germany, Nicola
I have been making cards for years, but as you said, I have s tendency to use the newest methods instead of going back to older techniques. Thank you for reminding me and for showing me some new ways to use my large number of supplies! 😊
Laurel who is the flower stamp made by you used on the second card. I did not like that panel until you added the flower and man that turned it around for me. I love it. So so pretty. TFS.
Me too, I need to use a stamp block again. One thing I keep thinking about doing but have never done is smooshing ink with clear packaging. It makes so much sense to see what you are doing.
I’ve not yet tried it, but maybe the protected blade of an envelope opener would be abrasive enough to rough the edges but still be safe?? Just a suggestion…
I love edge distressing too!! I use the inside of my mini scissors ✂️... (the part I don't cut with). These backgrounds Laurel!! Love the watercolour look, and how easy!! DUH! ☺👍 great cards!
I will have to try these! Loved them. 😊 New to your channel. Was at the Stressfree Card Making Summitt and loved that as well. Looking forward to watching more of your videos. Thanks😊❤
Thanks! This hop is a great idea. I'm getting burned out on the summits. I like the quick and easy ideas (at least till the next summit that I can't live without....)
TY for all these ideas….sooooo fun. I have a question about your glue. I use the Art Glitter Glue, but if I don’t craft for say 4-5 days then it clogs up pretty bad…more trouble than it’s worth. Does the Bearly Art glue clog as well if not used for a while? TY 💕🌸💕
Hey Laurel hope you're enjoying GA! I usually use my acrylic locks for weights! Thank you for the tip. The circle one tied in with Mary's bokeh effect! Great video😘
I absolutely love that you used trash to do some of these! I'm actually doing trash to treasure for everyone for Christmas this year. Also, you can use a fingernail file to distress the edges too!
The release paper looks like it’s Scotch 3M foam tape, available in big box stores.. I have not seen it in black but you can use a black permanent marker to color the edges black.
I love this lady, Laurel is my cup of tea. Laurel, like me, loves colour, and I love her choices and focus on the technical aspects of the make. But is it me, I don't like the sentiment to be just whacked onto the card. It lacks subtlety and finesse in IMO.
very cool!!! Love the 4-color one! Love the colors on the orange! love the steak knife!
I think the simpler the technique is and something that requires minimal supplies these are the ones that are easy to forget. Thanks for the video
Yeah, we want to use up “our stuff”. 😂
I have never thought to smoosh ink on a block. Nice!

6:08 -- Brilliant way to use household items for crafting! 😊🎉
Thank you! Cheers!
Thanks for joining the hop! I need to practice my edge distressing now!
Beautiful❤
Love the distressed edge look...I use it occasionally....I find it a bit easier if you dampen the edge of the paper first.
I totally forgot about smooshing! Wonderful background for black or dark floral that are just outlines
Beautiful inspirational cards ❤
These are some of my favorite techniques, I do them quite often!! Love your cards!! ❤
Fun backgrounds!
Thnx, Laurel. Onto the next one.
I loved when you used plastic and smooshed! Definite keeper!

I was just telling my husband about your magic mug! Because I cut extra snowflakes when making the ones I actually needed

Wow I never thought of using an acrylic block to smoosh ink I love that look ty for sharing.
Lovely. I particularly like the texture of the card
That's really cool! I've never seen anyone put ink directly on a glass or acrylic block before. I will definitely be trying that!
Laurel who is the flower stamp made by you used on the second card. I did not like that panel until you added the flower and man that turned it around for me. I love it. So so pretty. TFS.

I haven't used the ink block smoosh in a long time. Think I'll try it again an your cards came out beautifully.
Me too, I need to use a stamp block again. One thing I keep thinking about doing but have never done is smooshing ink with clear packaging. It makes so much sense to see what you are doing.
I love these refresher videos. I've watched them all, and my head is full of new ideas! 💜🎨TFS

I'd totally forgotten about acrylic block stamping! SO easy, quick and effective... thank you!
Wonderful! Thanks for sharing.
I’ve not yet tried it, but maybe the protected blade of an envelope opener would be abrasive enough to rough the edges but still be safe?? Just a suggestion…
I will have to try this! Really love what you did with these techniques
Great backgrounds! I miss distressing the edges!
Really great techniques, thanks so much for sharing. Love the cards too!
I love the ink smooshing! Great video, Laurel!
Love the distressed panels. Very organic. This was a fun hop! I learned a few things and will be using all of these great techniques in the future.
Love all of your results! I would never have thought to use an acrylic block for smooshing! Thanks Laurel.
I love edge distressing too!! I use the inside of my mini scissors ✂️... (the part I don't cut with).
These backgrounds Laurel!! Love the watercolour look, and how easy!! DUH! ☺👍 great cards!
So inspiring, I truly enjoy seeing how people turn household waste into craft supplies!! Thank you.
Such great cards!
Great cards! Loved all of the background techniques. Thanks for sharing

Have YOU tried the new glue press from My Sweet Petunia? I won one, but getting ideas from people on when & where to use it.
Fun and informative video. What is the source or manufacturer of the tear-able foam tape?
Thanks! This hop is a great idea. I'm getting burned out on the summits. I like the quick and easy ideas (at least till the next summit that I can't live without....)
Add some perfect pearls to the water spray bottle and you will get great shimmer.

Who makes that rose stamp and stencil? Thx.
Love them! Fun techniques that are easy yet so stunning! Pretty cards!❤

on top of wet ink - take cling wrap - wrinkle it a bit. let it dry then remove it… terrific!
I absolutely love that you used trash to do some of these! I'm actually doing trash to treasure for everyone for Christmas this year.

Source for the script "thanks"? Thanks!! 🙂
Gorgeous cards 🥰 I love your techniques, your color choices and your card designs ❤ thanks for sharing your creativity Hugs xx
FABULOUSNESS!!!
Love love love
TEARABLE FOAM TAPE... WHERE??? Does it come in black?
The release paper looks like it’s Scotch 3M foam tape, available in big box stores.. I have not seen it in black but you can use a black permanent marker to color the edges black.
❤️❤️❤️
Using the edge of your scissor is safer than a knife, I've done all these in the past. I smooched a background yesterday
My trimmer destresses my paper 😂😂
Ha! Same! I finally broke down and sprung $8 for new replacement blades and now I’m thrashed by paper cuts!😂
I do know the squishy things.
I love the ink smooshing technique. You can smoosh over and over to get darker colors on your ink smooshed card panel.
