One of my favorite melees in the game. This weapon is an absolute beast. At first I had low expectations for it, but it became an absolute favorite of mine ^^
@@WannabeDev1 because it's unique and not all projectil based weapons need to be range or mage so it's one of the only projectile based melee weapons that make sense as a melee weapon to me
The Scourge holds a special place in my heart as it was the first biome chest weapon I ever obtained in my first ever terraria playthrough back in 1.2.4 it's always been my favourite.
For anyone using farms to get the keys, you'll need a certain amount of blocks to make an artificial biome. For the desert/snow, it's 1500. For the two evils, it's 300. For the Hallow it's 125 For the jungle, it's 140. Make sure to change the tiles if you want the enemies from that biome to spawn too. Notes: Make sure go always have an artificial jungle biome wherever you're farming, this boosts spawn rates. You can also mix any of the three evils with desert or snow, this way you'll be able to get three keys at once.
@@noahdiluca9857 you can actually do every biome at once except for hallow with the right block placements. (hallow doesnt work because it overrides all of the other biomes making your farm only able to get hallow keys regardless of what other blocks are around)
as someone who only does random corruption/crimson selection, i like the scourge a lot, is not a weapon i would farm for, but if i get a key while doing something else, i'll pick it up just as a convenience, and oh boi, what a convenience it is
Man, I adore this weapon. On my first ever playthrough on mobile terraria, I got the glitch where this weapon spawned in a wooden chest. I got it pre hard mode and it carried me xD awesome times since I was a kid at the time and definitely needed the extra help
Scourge of the corruptor isn't something most people use for very long, because it's very close to the point you'd be getting the terra blade, which is just a better weapon in general. And Terra blade + vampire knives is a more useful combo.
a bit late to the discussion but the scourge actually does quite better against single targets compared to the terra blade in terms of dps and ease of use, especially against fast flying targets like duke and empress when you cant get close often
@doot_2198 Scourge does less dps actually. Terrablade has the benefit of scaling much better with higher attackspeed and this allows Terrablade a far higher ceiling.
@@doot_2198 that is just blatantly false, terra blade has slightly better single target damage than scourge, and your claim about duke/EOL is just wrong because you have 0 room for error on missed shots. the YOYOS at this stage do more singletarget DPS than scourge, and even then for duke/empress (considered post-golem bosses) there is no reason to use scourge over other options like influx waver or flying dragon
This thing reminds me of the Spectre armor's ability where it sends out a few little spectre... bolts (?) that turn sharply to either hit the enemy again or hit multiple. I underestimated it and found out during my mage playthrough that it was absolutely fantastic. When 1.4.4 comes out and I do my melee run, this'll surely be a fantastic weapon that I'll keep till the Moon Lord drops.
You sir make some of best terraria content i can find. I really like these little info vids, and they really do make me consider using weapons i would usually just straight up ignore. For example, in my master mode mage run, i am now using the Unholy Trident, and it shreds!
To me the unholy trident feels like a weapon that I'd use if I get it but getting it post mech feels like it's a bit out of the way to justify farming it, since you'll generally have something like rainbow rod or just go straight to kill plantera or duke fishron and it would get swapped out pretty fast even though it's a phenomenal weapon
I've always had a soft spot for the Scourge. I dunno why but it's always been a weapon I've really liked and didn't realise how good it was. I didn't get a Corrupt Key on my recent playthrough unfortunately (I got 2 desert keys without grinding and a Crimson key during the extremely short time I was in a different world solely to get gelatin world tour) but I hope to use it properly someday. My favourite Biome Key item is either this or the Frost Hydra staff since a good sentry is really nice to have as a summoner.
I think the reason is that it is cool I love it because just imagine using the scourge of the person/thing that has spread the corruption and control the powers of it
I remember from my earliest playthrough with some friends when I was first introduced to the Scourge. I fell in love INSTANTLY. A spear like weapon you could spam endlessly that split into mini versions of itself that homes into enemies? "HOW ABSOLUTELY AWESOME" thought young me. It still holds a special place in my heart, but the grinding often needed, its short life span before better weapons are obtainable AND playing with friends that always focused on min-maxing their DPS has made it less desirable since my earliest Terraria days. If only it upgraded with progression or something cuz it being Post-Plantera really discourages getting it in playthroughs.
The Scourge of the Corruptor is both a fun and satisfying weapon to use on enemies in-game. With its projectiles being able to simultaneously split upon contact and home-in on enemies. Definitely makes for a unique and interesting combination, I'd say. My only gripe(s) with the weapon itself is its rather low single-target dps compared to other Melee weapons within the same stage such as the Flairon (which is straight-out superior, in my opinion), Seedler and Terra Blade. Possessed Hatchet is also fairly close in terms of availablity, as it's only Post-Golem compared to Post-Plantera and shares the same homing capability as the Scourge. Just my own two cents on the matter, though.
I've always loved this weapon, whenever I do a no-class playthrough, I always pick it up, its just so good, also, the life drain does alot more damage then the vamp knives so I usually just get that.

As a mostly ranger player I have become biased towards the piranha gun, which I believe is the best biome weapon and one of the best in the game, but I will give the Scourge a try!
Piranha gun was my favorite part of playing ranger in master mode so yeah I kind of agree (Still love vampire knives more but can't argue at all with you its very good)
in my opinion a mention of the difficulty level while doing these weapon showcases would be helpful and informative since the hp of enemies and bosses differs greatly between difficulty. Great vid as always, you're finding some real sleeper weapons, that definatly are top tier 👌. Always wondered why no one uses the corruptor staff, maybe a vid about the magic missile, flamelash or rainbow rod?
And it's only gotten buffed since then too. It used to deal 57 damage and the mini corrupters dealt 55% of the base damage but now it deals a whole 70 with it's minions dealing 75%!
i remember using this weapon back in 1.2 in the Wii U, and i absolutely loved it. i still get it from time to time in my playthroughs today, but i never really go out of my way to get it, only if a key just happens to drop. definitely one of the most overlooked weapons in terraria, although i understand why it would be
This weapon is SOOOO op! I not gonna lie I prefer more the vampire knife but this weapon (the first time I get it) I use it like for a long long time after plantera, is so good and you can make it even more op with modifiers for melee
They are both really valuable options, you can use scourge of the corruptor for dps, and when you need to quickly heal you can switch to vampire knifes
I've gone through honestly like 12 playthroughs without gettings a single biome key to drop naturally,. and haven't gone to farm them. I think it's just kindof a neat thing to collect if you get a key. Personally, I vastly appreciate the chests over the items inside and I wish there was a way to craft them. Even if it consumed a key to craft, at least I would have a reason to farm them out.
I just finished a melee playthrough and debated getting the scourge but I decided to grind on another world for vampire knives. Then you just released this video lol. Now I'm tempted to already do another melee playthrough just for this weapon lol
@@anitaanita7854 exactly and you can stack multiple attack and unleash them on enemies or use a beefy enemy to charge up multiple s.o.c attacks you unleash them on the rest

another method to gain the keys easily is by litterally just fighting king slime with like gnome statue, the biome torch and ect, this is what i do since im lazy to make a farm most of the time
Hey sockrteez, can you make a dedicated guide play through for calamity? As it is difficult to memorise everything as it has a lot of features than vanilla terraria
this was one of my favorite weapons to use back when i was but a baby in terraria, still learning a lot its ease of use and ability to ricochet made it a really effective weapon in safe poking
I remember when I first used this I was struggling against Golem (it was my first time playing) so i used it along with the Terra Blade , Megashark, Rainbow Gun and Ice Biome Chest weapon. my favourite was the scuorge.
I never really tried to farm biome keys, but when I once randomly dropped the corruption key, I just fell in love with the scourge of the corruptor. Not many people talk about this weapon, and I think it is underrated. I'm happy that you mention "forgotten" weapons like this one.

omg I've loved this weapon since I've first gotten it and the low amount of love it gets made me so sad... this video is AMAZING! I'm so glad one of my favorite weapons is finally getting noticed : D
Maybe it's gotten SIGNIFICANTLY better since my time using, but when I used this, I couldn't help but feel somewhat underwhelmed with its performance overall.
I personally have never used the Scourge or vampire knifes, or any biome chest weapon, because of the timing of when you can grab them. But Scourge is one that I've wanted to get some love for a bit. Cause it looks like it would be a great weapon to use
If the scourge did ANYTHING other than raw dmg alone, I'd consider it as a valid option for a side weapon But as a main weapon the Terra Blade is just the best option around, with the Influx Waver becoming it's direct upgrade after Golem
It's stuff like this that sometimes make me wish that worlds would spawn with both biome chests. Biome chests are specific to the world evil, even though you can get both evil biomes. Both of these weapons have a lot of varied uses, and it would be awesome if we could get both in the same world. The scourge has amazing DPS, but the life stealing abilities of the knives has saved me in a lot of different events, especially on master mode.
I think part of the reason people disregard this weapon is because it’s bugged against target dummies and the scourges, the thing that does damage, ignores them. This caused me to almost write it off until I tried it out a bit, and was shocked
I want to say its overshadowed by flashier projectile melees like the daybreak, terra sword, or influx waver. it only gets a short time to shine in the progression of the game, wheras the lifesteal effect of its crimson counterpart is useful in any part of progression past its acquisition. It would have been nice if re-logic added more post plantera content before the cultist was unlocked, a lot of weapons get outclassed too soon after you unlock them due to pillars just handing out some of the best weapons in the game.
Sockrteez, I found your channel yesterday and I love it. You give actual useful information for stages of the game that don't take 30 minutes. Keep up the cool work dude!
Vampire knives are always good though. They’re crazy right when you get them and even if you have beetle or solar gear and are farming Christmas moon or fishron or pillars, the knives can top you off and quickly get you out of a sticky situation. This corruption variant is good but just gets put in a chest the moment you get true knights edge or something better
i love the desert tiger staff, you should definitely cover it. i feel like it's almost possible to do a whole summoner playthough using only upgradable minions, the only real problem are the mech bosses being really annoying to kill with just abigail
I absolutely love the Scourge and have since it was added to the game, the problem it has is also shared by many other things: As the game has been updated, old weapons often are replaced by the new stuff, generally because of better tracking, AI, larger, faster, or homing projectiles; things that the developers have seen were needed as the players used things that were... well, kind of a dud, like the KO Cannon or the Paladin Hammer. Such is the case of the Sanguine Staff vs almost every other minion before it in game update order; having better awareness and response time than even either of the Stardust staves. It's just a case of the developers getting it correct the first time, in the case of the Xeno Staff and using it's extremely responsive AI as the basis for the Sanguine, or improving their own talents and giving the players the right tool for the job, in the case of the Terraprisma - an extremely responsive AI, with a large hitbox, and very good speed; essentially making it the perfect minion, and that wholly ignores it's damage output. Terraprisma is good because of how it behaves and feels to use, the damage (which can largely be attributed to their good AI) is just the very sweet icing on an already spectacular cake.
You should do one for the Bubble Gun since all the mages only want Razorblade Typhoon. Personally i think Bubble Gun is a bit underrated but it shreds bosses like Duke and Plantera.
Scourge is a fantastic weapon. It can easily be used in a number of situations where most other weapons just don't work and it can even beat pillars! It also strongly benefits from a well-constructed arena that uses some solid blocks to "summon" more projectiles with (though admittedly, the same can be said of any weapon with ricochet-type projectiles). In fact, given the nature of the projectiles, I wish it was a hybrid weapon that scaled with melee and summoner stats though... Summoners desperately need more offensive variety even in a post-whip world (especially in terms of active weapons).
Back when I played in 1.2, this weapon was a go-to for endgame dps, however, vampire knives were still preferred by most for the ridiculous lifesteal they had back them.
This weapon is a beast. I wondered why every boss tutorial never mentioned it. I destroyed golem with it, and it destroys all previous bosses too. I’m invincible on the eclipse with it just stand still and shoot. It also makes a good farming weapon. Go up high where the floor barley disappears and just shoot at the ground and you will kill so many enemies
I was always amazed that every update buffed it, like it needed to become better (much like the dart rifle). Vampire knives are all well and good but the odd thing about those is that they work best against enemies behind your progression curve like in pirate invasions etc. when you have a multitude of weapons that can handle them. Accordingly, the higher the difficulty is set, the worse they become because for their low base damage and more effective defense. Often times, dealing more damage to clear the screen is more effective to avoid damage than this one that just prolongs fights so that you NEED to heal. The scourge was always a 'one in everything weapon' to me. It fires in a straight line without an (acceleration) curve. The main projectile does good damage but the secondary ones gives it crowd control or higher damage against a slower moving single target. On the drunken world seed where you have ichor available for a flask or did Betsy for the magic weapon, the dps becomes insane. It competes more with other ranged weapons at that point in the game but oh wait, it's a melee weapon! So you're having a good 20-30 more defense as well! That fact alone of being a weapon with good damage and crowd control but without the drawback of becoming squishy makes it that good. Being able to absorb more damage is very useful against the pre-moonlord bosses and before you get the pillar: Remember that you need a weapon to get the fragments in the first place. Not only my favourite biome chest weapon but it always used to be one of my favourite weapons in the game.
I'd say one of the main reasons weapons like this doesn't get used is simply because of the variety of weapons that would be available once you beat plantera. Also Terra Blade is just too popular.
i remember back when i was little and played terraria on my iPad, and the first biome chest weapon i got was the corruption one, and it has just meant alot to me since then :))
I absolutely love this weapon. My last playthrough, I used this weapon for so much of the game. My friend was a mage and he got the rainbow gun and always set it up on his side of the portals when we did the tower defense defender event, i forget what it's called. Fun times.
one of my favourite weapons in the game, easily, finally it's getting some love i always try to go for it, especially when i'm already rocking a melee build put it on with a few melee accessories, most importantly the fire gauntlet, sit yourself into a nice pool of honey in an ordinary arena and it's one of the most chill ways to farm bloodmoons, eclipses and the like if you just keep shooting the bottom of the pool
It was the first biome weapon I got back in the day so I’ve always had a soft spot for it. It also definitely doesn’t hurt that I like the corruption more than the crimson.
You can make an easier version of the big farm without the necessity to fill the bottom part with walls, you must put a layer of lava on the ground, this will prevent enemies from spawning bellow anyways, just like as you had walls
So anyone not willing to set up a farm, you can actually just make a bunch of Worm Food. Each of the Eater Of Worlds' 50 segments can drop the key, if you keep a large amount of Rotten Chunks and Vile Mushrooms. You can use the EoW to farm Crimson, Desert, and Snow biome keys too, plus Pirate Maps
I love it so badly and the fact that it saved a lot of times when solar eclipses happen and every single segment of the eater of worlds count as a monster makes it easy to get
It is supposed to be something powerful available to you after defeating plantera. You can get biome keys from as soon as you defeat wall of flesh, but can't open the chests until plantera is defeated. The best thing is that you can mine out some space in the corruption itself, but be mindful of the crafting stations, best to equip a weaker hammer such as the molten one to make sure you don't end up smashing those altars and infecting your world. Then make the build shown in this video and farming can begin. Many times I simply got the keys unknowing by walking around through the biomes and digging in them.
I don't understand why people don't use it either. I remember in one of my most memorable playthroughs about 7 years ago, I got the frozen dragon summon and the scourge of the corruptor which caused me to fall in love with those weapons. Even now in most of my melee calamity playthroughs I use the scourge until the cultist.
this was my main weapon in my first playthough all the wqy back in 1.2 or so, and still one of my fav weapons along with the terra blade. such an awesome weapon
The main reason I dont use the scourge anymore is because I only do crimson play throughs of terraria because crimson was always the harder biome to play, but back when I did use the scourge it was one of my favorite weapons, it's like a poor man's vortex beater with chlorophyte bullets
I use this weapon. I have a wired obsession with collecting stuff from crimson and corruption (counterpart to counterpart) and I always get my hands on this weapon, if i play on a drunk world(and now, I play ONLY on a drunk world, lmao). So my honest opinion on this weapon - it's quite good, but since I'm a mage/summoner main, I don't use it often. Now that I'm thinking about it, I think I need to re-play melee sometime. Also I'm wondering how Re-logic will remake true nights edge and excalibur into the true melee, if most terraria bosses are almost impossible to hit in close range and not die. That's the reason why breaker blade and keybrand fail as a melee weapons - projectile shooting weapons are just superior. Good luck on the content, I enjoy it so far!
its currently my second terraria playtrough, the first one i stopped at orichalcum armor i recently fought the destroyer i luckily SOMEHOW have 3 biome keys. 3 ENEMIES from 3 DIFFERENT BIOMES dropped me 3 DIFFERENT KEYS at the BEGINNING of hardmode. So, to anyone reading this, may the rng gods bless you.
i haven't used the scourge or the vampire knives in a long while to be honest, mostly because the keys don't tend to drop for me through a normal playthrough, and i don't really go out of my way to farm them either. this video does make me more tempted to try the scourge though, especially since i know the last few updates have buffed it from when i last used it too.
Why do you farm the enemies manually in your farm? The best strat I’ve found was to make a volcano like structure over where you’ll stand in the safety box that’s a triangle with a layer or two of laws in it, I also like to use the spike traps from the dungeon to put over it and get the flying enemies, then it’s afkable and you still get all the loot
It shoots off a projectile like magic and ranged classes generally do, and then releases little minions that double back and hit kinda like a summoner. So of course the logical class to put this in is melee.
This weapon is an old favorite of mine from when I first played in mobile 1.2, but it's one of the few corruption things I prefer over its crimson counterpart. It's a sad sacrifice, but a worthy one for the glory of the crimson.

Funny how the vampire knives act like the spectre’s other set bonus that heals
It’s super fun to use to, which is the main reason I use it!
I think the reason is that it is cool
I love it because just imagine using the scourge of the person/thing that has spread the corruption and control the powers of it
I remember from my earliest playthrough with some friends when I was first introduced to the Scourge.
The Scourge of the Corruptor is very strong in enclosed arenas such as the Golem's, it absolutely carried me
The Scourge of the Corruptor is both a fun and satisfying weapon to use on enemies in-game.

Yeah piranha gun wrecks
Piranha gun is the best ngl 2nd is vamp knives
Piranha gun was my favorite part of playing ranger in master mode so yeah I kind of agree (Still love vampire knives more but can't argue at all with you its very good)
The Scourge is always in my post-plantera endgame loadout for characters it's such a great fire-and-forget weapon
Another tip for the farm: use evil equivalent sand instead of stone. Can easily be placed and removed with torch.
in my opinion a mention of the difficulty level while doing these weapon showcases would be helpful and informative since the hp of enemies and bosses differs greatly between difficulty. Great vid as always, you're finding some real sleeper weapons, that definatly are top tier 👌. Always wondered why no one uses the corruptor staff, maybe a vid about the magic missile, flamelash or rainbow rod?
The scourge can definitely do damage and it can also spread it's attacks the weapon looks cool too
I thought you were going to say it can also spread the corruption and I was like hang on for a sec
I’ve been saying that this thing is underrated since 1.2, so its nice for it to finally be recognized!
And it's only gotten buffed since then too. It used to deal 57 damage and the mini corrupters dealt 55% of the base damage but now it deals a whole 70 with it's minions dealing 75%!
@@Duppling I didn’t even know it got buffed. That’s actually crazy
I've always had a soft spot for the Corruption and its features. It's nice to see the Scourge this powerful.
i remember using this weapon back in 1.2 in the Wii U, and i absolutely loved it. i still get it from time to time in my playthroughs today, but i never really go out of my way to get it, only if a key just happens to drop. definitely one of the most overlooked weapons in terraria, although i understand why it would be
Great weapon, vampire knives still a bit better, but it’s getting buffed yet again in 1.4.4 (still a great weapon, the scourge is)
I always used the vampire knives and the scourge together wayyy back when the knives were stupid good.
This weapon is SOOOO op!
I not gonna lie I prefer more the vampire knife but this weapon (the first time I get it) I use it like for a long long time after plantera, is so good and you can make it even more op with modifiers for melee
With +melee speed or damage
They are both really valuable options, you can use scourge of the corruptor for dps, and when you need to quickly heal you can switch to vampire knifes
I've gone through honestly like 12 playthroughs without gettings a single biome key to drop naturally,. and haven't gone to farm them. I think it's just kindof a neat thing to collect if you get a key. Personally, I vastly appreciate the chests over the items inside and I wish there was a way to craft them. Even if it consumed a key to craft, at least I would have a reason to farm them out.
You now can obtain them by throwing their correspondent key into shimmer!
I just finished a melee playthrough and debated getting the scourge but I decided to grind on another world for vampire knives. Then you just released this video lol. Now I'm tempted to already do another melee playthrough just for this weapon lol
The scourge of the corrupter work insanely well with d.o.t flasks like venom, cursed flame and icor flasks
Actually it's a really good way to spread the debuff across a crowd of enemies
@@anitaanita7854 exactly and you can stack multiple attack and unleash them on enemies or use a beefy enemy to charge up multiple s.o.c attacks you unleash them on the rest
you never use any other flask besides ichor, and DOT strats in general are useless outside of pre-mech
@@walnut5617 cursed flames isnt bad at all. And venom? Venom arrows synergise well with the Phantasm due to high base damage.
@@Meowlegend7 what are you even saying? Why would you ever use cursed flames flasks instead of ichor?? Venom arrows are used BECAUSE of their higher base damage, not because of the debuff. Having 5 extra dps is completely unviable especially when you have to sacrifice one of the strongest Debuffs in the entire game for it to
another method to gain the keys easily is by litterally just fighting king slime with like gnome statue, the biome torch and ect, this is what i do since im lazy to make a farm most of the time
Hey sockrteez, can you make a dedicated guide play through for calamity? As it is difficult to memorise everything as it has a lot of features than vanilla terraria
Sure! Will note that down for the future :)
this was one of my favorite weapons to use back when i was but a baby in terraria, still learning a lot
its ease of use and ability to ricochet made it a really effective weapon in safe poking
I always use this weapon. Best of the biome chests by far.
I'm happy that you mention "forgotten" weapons like this one.

this video is AMAZING!
I'm so glad one of my favorite weapons is finally getting noticed : D
Maybe it's gotten SIGNIFICANTLY better since my time using, but when I used this, I couldn't help but feel somewhat underwhelmed with its performance overall.
same
In some scenarios i still use it, even in late-game. It’s really good for crowd control imo
I personally have never used the Scourge or vampire knifes, or any biome chest weapon, because of the timing of when you can grab them. But Scourge is one that I've wanted to get some love for a bit. Cause it looks like it would be a great weapon to use
If the scourge did ANYTHING other than raw dmg alone, I'd consider it as a valid option for a side weapon
But as a main weapon the Terra Blade is just the best option around, with the Influx Waver becoming it's direct upgrade after Golem
Drunk world time
Don’t both chests spawn though
Well stop being sober and the world will open with opportunities~

I love the scourge, but my favourite biome chest weapon is the Staff of Frost Hydra
based beyond comprehension
With an Old One's set, the Frost Hydra is freaking insane
I think the main reason why it’s so underused can be described in 2 words…
Vampire Knives!
I think part of the reason people disregard this weapon is because it’s bugged against target dummies and the scourges, the thing that does damage, ignores them. This caused me to almost write it off until I tried it out a bit, and was shocked
I'm glad you go over the weapons I use, and you sir are very underated. Have a good day.😎
"As it acts like a ranged weapon but doesnt consume any ammo."
every projectile weapon in the entire game:
I want to say its overshadowed by flashier projectile melees like the daybreak, terra sword, or influx waver. it only gets a short time to shine in the progression of the game, wheras the lifesteal effect of its crimson counterpart is useful in any part of progression past its acquisition. It would have been nice if re-logic added more post plantera content before the cultist was unlocked, a lot of weapons get outclassed too soon after you unlock them due to pillars just handing out some of the best weapons in the game.
scourge as a main weapon to dish out damage, vampire knives as a complimentary weapon to heal up with
Sockrteez, I found your channel yesterday and I love it.
I did a playthrough for fun where I only used the biome weapons and honest the scourge was the most useful weapon I had
i love the desert tiger staff, you should definitely cover it. i feel like it's almost possible to do a whole summoner playthough using only upgradable minions, the only real problem are the mech bosses being really annoying to kill with just abigail
Use the vampire bat or the spider one or even fire imps
@@donovanschafer8620 only ones they would let themselves use are the abigail flower, desert tiger staff, and stardust dragon staff.
bigger problem is beating plantera with abagail. However, firecracker will help you there.
I had this thing, its pretty solid, but vampire knives are still better
Last playthrough I (despite playing Ranged) used the Scourge to nuke the ground during the pillars. It certainly has its uses.
This is a personal favorite of mine, and helped a ton with daytime EOL. Thanks for covering it!
Vampire knives and rainbow gun:hold my beer
I love Scourge. It's pretty good and for some reason it's incredibly satisfying for me
Ive seen some people use the Scourge from time to time But I've seen anyone never use the rainbow gun in a run before
rainbow gun is good for raids, you shot it and use the damage as a little help, but yeah it is kinda useless tho
Me, an intellectual: *brings 5 slime crowns to the Corruption*
I once got it...in a summoner playthrough,I didn't know it was good but now that I'm doing a melee playthrough I am totally gonna use it
I remember using this thing wayyy back in the day when vamp knives were still king. My favorite weapon.
This has been my favorite weapon since it was added to the game and the sole reason I've never made a crimson before a corruption world since 2013
Back when I played in 1.2, this weapon was a go-to for endgame dps, however, vampire knives were still preferred by most for the ridiculous lifesteal they had back them.
Fun times.
one of my favourite weapons in the game, easily, finally it's getting some love
i always try to go for it, especially when i'm already rocking a melee build
put it on with a few melee accessories, most importantly the fire gauntlet, sit yourself into a nice pool of honey in an ordinary arena and it's one of the most chill ways to farm bloodmoons, eclipses and the like if you just keep shooting the bottom of the pool
It was the first biome weapon I got back in the day so I’ve always had a soft spot for it. It also definitely doesn’t hurt that I like the corruption more than the crimson.
i quite like the desert one even when im not doing a summoner playthrough
I love these videos. Nice simple thumbnail, nice content.
I love it so badly and the fact that it saved a lot of times when solar eclipses happen and every single segment of the eater of worlds count as a monster makes it easy to get
Fun fact I used the Scourge with the ufo mount to beat the dungeon guardian, it's like having infinite ammo that does more damage overtime
I remember back on 1.2 when my endgame loadout was the horseman's blade, the fishron flail and the scourge or the corruptor with beetle armour
The main reason I dont use the scourge anymore is because I only do crimson play throughs of terraria because crimson was always the harder biome to play, but back when I did use the scourge it was one of my favorite weapons, it's like a poor man's vortex beater with chlorophyte bullets
your 3 day upload makes me feel like 6 but really good videos
Back in 1.2 i used to love this thing, its damage output is insane and can handle almost every scenario
Good luck on the content, I enjoy it so far!
its currently my second terraria playtrough, the first one i stopped at orichalcum armor
i recently fought the destroyer
i luckily SOMEHOW have 3 biome keys.
You gotta talk about the piranha gun. That shit hard carried me until moonlord. I was a ranged class cosplaying as a summoner
Why do you farm the enemies manually in your farm? The best strat I’ve found was to make a volcano like structure over where you’ll stand in the safety box that’s a triangle with a layer or two of laws in it, I also like to use the spike traps from the dungeon to put over it and get the flying enemies, then it’s afkable and you still get all the loot
this is by far my favorite biome chest item. i feel like its so underrated its just so fun to use
you can shoot the scourge into one block thick wall and some of the projectiles will fly out of the block making it very good for invasion events
