lol that was gonna be my comment but I saw yours also this is a little embarrassing but the only accessory I'm missing is the climbing claws I found them on my first world then accidentally sold and exited the npc shop and I've gone to around 50 more worlds and still haven't found another I wonder if the code in the game literally just won't let me get all the items same thing with sandstorm in a bottle lol sorry this turned into a giant ramble ^_^_^_^ but if you read it thank you for your time.
Many mmftw players have agreed, this is the only armor you'll need to finish vanilla terraria, just combine it with master ninja gear and brain of confusion
as some who beat ftwmm daytime empress of light pre-golem, I can agree this was the set up I used, along with fishron wings, soaring insignia (from nightime), terraspark boots, and damage accesories
For being a relatively small channel, these videos are really high quality and are the perfect length. Keep it up! I think some calamity videos would also be awesome to see!
Be VERY careful when using weaker enemies to get I-frames when fighting Moon Lord. His attacks WILL override almost any other enemy’s attacks. AKA, you’ll take his damage over another enemy’s.
Something I discovered watching some guy's video (i dont remember unfortunately) that the Moonlord's eye hand contact damage doesnt scale with difficulty (aka its always going to do 80 damage) so, in master mode, you can use a invencibility set that has 80 defense or higher and just stick to moonlord's hand, this way, he will never hit you.
After 3 playthroughs in Master Mode I've actually realized how much you start leaning into the dodge chance there, as opposed to defense or damage reduction. Since damage in the late game can get so wacky your big numbers (aside from damage) become mostly meaningless, you start to invest more heavily into movement and dodge chance, since you'll be dead in like 3 hits from a boss anyways.
I actually love how they buffed daytime EoL by making all dodge buffs not work, it makes you focus on damage and makes the fight way more intentes and fun.
Yes, but you can still cheese moonlord with i-frames with high enough armor count, The eye socket in moonlords hand after destroying on of his eyes deal constant damage which can be (ab)used for i-frames. WaffleTime have made a video about this
These methods don't work for empress of light, moon lord or the Martian saucer as they're attacks override invincibility frames. The weak enemy statue set up is quite good however its not very reliable especially when using a weapon. Using a fall damage set up is much better. Make a hoik loop that gives one damage constantly within the invincibility frames. This is also better as it can be made pre-boss if you increase the fall damage to 2 and use a lot of regeneration stuff
they don't override imunity frames,their attacks just get priority over the weak enemies, if you put lava instead of the slimes they can't touch you because lava has priority over all projectiles
Btw, the next update 1.4.4 will include armor loudout feature with hotkeys. Which will be OVERPOWERED because you can use the dodge once and switch armor in the middle of the fight without autopause!
i mean you could always do that, right? just have a 2nd set of armor and maybe even accs in your inventory or vanity slots and swap them in when needed
When I first played 1.4 in mobile, and realized that the Hallowed Armor have a dodge set bonus, I instantly build said set-up as I remember in the old days of Terraria Mobile where Master Ninja Gear and Cross Necklace and Titanium Armor was something. I thought myself I found a really weird but broken build and when I search in RUclips it was already a thing and it was even better with the honey+statue
You could probably combine this with some regen accessories and furniture items to make yourself practically invincible even on the chance that you do get hit with something bad.
I remember farming the Empress of Light as a mage. Used spectral armor (with a mask) periodically changing the holy armor to get a buff. Seriously, don't throw away that armor, buff is very useful

i would use star veil for extra damage everytime ur hit, and master ninja gear for dash and climbing capabilities plus frozen shield for no knock back and damage reduction
you also cant ignore that black belt upgrades to the best dodge accessory in the game, the master ninja gear, so thats great too cross necklace can also be upgraded but ehhhh the stars dont do too much otherwise, i imagine this would have good synergy with the vampire knives (lifesteal + melee helmet gives the most defense) and generally any other DR or defense boosting accessories like the frozen shield, hero shield, worm scarf, etc
I've been tanking for a few years and I use Star Veil, BoC (Brain of Confusion) and MNG (Master Ninja Gear) as parts of my tank build. Paired with Shiny Stone, Beetle/Solar armor, Worm Scarf and Frozen Turtle Shell/Frozen Shield, you can tank most bosses without statues (even in Master Mode). It's also nice to bring a Brand of the Inferno; it can parry if you block at the right time, which will completely nullify the damage of the parried attack. This isn't even considering the use of potions, which would make the build even stronger.
I recommend you do a video on maxing out crit chance. maybe split it up into prehardmode, hardmode, expert mode, and endgame. You would be surprised but the lucky modifier can be way better than the menacing modifier. Edit: Also fun fact: because breaker blade does extra damage to undamaged enemies, getting the lucky modifier on all accessories and getting high crit chance with armor can make it do over 200 dmg CONSISTENTLY and even sometimes over 400 dmg in ONE HIT! It is most useful against normal enemies but during a boss fight you will want to switch to a weapon with more range. I have switched to a build like this instead of one with defense.
It's weird, I started watching your channel a bit about a month or 2 ago, started playing a new master mode playthrough because of it, and just last night I used this setup minus the cross necklace to cheese day empress lol, we have come full circle.
I would honestly put them all on 4% damage increase since you won't be taking hits either way and assuming one is good at dodging then more damage would the best option IMO.
i remember when brain of confusion was a useless item, it just had the confusion thingy when enemies hit you, now it has a dodge chance, which also increases the crit when you dodge.
In my Mastermode Ftw ranged playthrough, I used dodge build as soon as I got Hallowed armor. It's just so busted I even managed to beat empress of light with it on daytime after 2 tries, because getting hit with that setup is a complete myth
Now, this is kind of a different story in multiplayer due to having accessories like the frozen shield because it helps your friends stay alive too. (Great video for solo play)
For empress of light during day use all these and a a wings that allows you to go straight forward Edit: Labor of Love got rid of immunity for one shot bosses
Gungnir did a video on the regeneration aspect of tankiness, in which he tanks moon lord with a specific setup like this, creating opportunity for afk farming the final boss. I don't remember what the video was called, but if you want another way to go about "tanky" then that's the video to watch.
budget version of this, which could probably be the extra jar of cherries on top of this build, is abusing the i-frames you get from bouncing off an enemy, or training dummy, with the slime mount. if you used bat statues to hit you while you rapidly bounced off a training dummy while bumping your head against a low ceiling, you could abuse both builds simultaneously.

Unrelated to this but crystal assasin armor is quite underrated as an equivalent to ore armors, even comparing to chlorophyte armor in stats, and its dash allows the shield of cthulu to be replaced by a helpful accessory such as the charm of myths or star veil
I was really happy when I crafted beetle armor. I easily took down night EoL during sandstorm in hallowed desert, and I love this armor, more than even post moon lord armor.
This might also explain why the Calamity devs pretty much nerfed the hell out of this type of build, by giving all immunity type items (as far as I know) a shared, universal 120(?) second shared cooldown. And by having the harder in-mod difficulties hard-cap immunity frame duration.
I generally like the philosophy that this is an option, busted or not. Terraria is a sandbox game after all and has the potential for a lot of items, synergies and more to be extremely powerful. However, it's also up to the player's discretion on whether or not they deem that worthy of their time or their morals to take the META route given it does no harm to abuse them outside multiplayer.
that farm brought great pain to my eyes. Try to avoid using spike ball traps in event farms as they (similar to the stardust cell staff) can mess with enemy immunity frames and eat up damage that could be dealt by higher damage spear traps and summons.
the moonlord has a different pool form the slimes so you wont be able to cheese him like that, however you can do something similar but instead of the slimes you have to get hit by his eyeless hand (has to have no eye)
absolutely essential armor for mftw, not having armor progression for the latter parts of the game is a little sad, but it's just such a fun difficulty it's still a blast
idk man im playing mftw with a friend and even thoe im using chlorophyte armore and hes using the hallowed armor he still dies ALOT more then me xD were prepping to fight plantera so maybe soon ill need but so far i don't see the necessity
but it does still leave open a couple accessory slots for dmg reduction, defence boosting and/or regen increase so that when you inevitably DO take damage, you can brush it off more easily
its a broken setup if you use the additional setup of weak enemies to trigger the i-frames, good farm setups with regen and statues already usually work well enough without the increased dodge chance, especially during events if you can get the hearts. Plus it's not the best setup because you can use an i-frame setup with a damage focused build to remove the threat in half the time

For exactly 4 minutes and 11 seconds, he becomes effectively immortal
If you also add in the shiny stone, standing still will make it so that even if you get damaged, you'll regen almost instantly.

I have found that using Vampire knives and this set up is good because when you do take damage you just heal right up.

Bit of a grave digging here but, i see in the tooltips that the dodge has a 90 sec cooldown, does that mean this is no longer working or ?

I would say the most busted setup would be the slimemount + target dummies, which is also compatible with the armour and accessory recommendations
