We tend to get impressed when we first discover Plato (or Socrates his mouthpiece), though please bear in mind that Plato lived nearly 1000 years after the time of Moses, and hundreds of years after the time of the Hebrew prophets, including Kohelet who wrote the first existential work of philosophy called "Eccleisiates" in modern bibles.
