The dwarfs are all so stuck in their ways that it gets them killed. The best example I could give is Thorek vs. Malakai. Thorek literally refuses to do anything new because "the old ways are best" where Malakai invents and improves. Come the end times, Thorek dies by blowing himself up, and Malakai participates in the battle of Middenheim. Funny tidbit.
That novel seems to turn dwarf self-destructive stubbornness into something almost pathological. I hoped that the dwarf able to see what was in front of his nose in the beggining survived, he was the only one who had a brain instead of a historical record.
Tbh, i feel like it fits the dwarves perfectly to THINK barak varr has been rebuilt and they can seel refuge there, because it was only attacked by elves, what damage could they do that would last for 200 years. We the mighty dwarves have rebuilt this fortress in 2 days after the war, and noone can breach these walls
What I don't understand about the siege of karak eight peaks is why weren't dwarf reinforcement coming to relieve the hold? It supposedly lasted for years, right? How come there was no relief attempt?!
Saw the title: You just hate dwarfs in general smadge Tho hearing that Ekrund never experience greenskins threat meant all the spores follow the world's edge mountain ranges
XDDD Yea in the story it seems like Gotrek Starbreaker smashed the greenskins so thoroughly that the dwarfs had to lose like 3 holds to them before considering maybe they were back.
I thought the story of Barudin Stoneheart was pretty great. Also, the Doom of Dragonback should definitely leaned into the dwarfen pride and stubbornness. Dwarfs aren't actually stupid.
"Nah that's crazy, there haven't been orcs in these hills since like tuesday last week. Maybe you just imagined it"
It doesnt matter what they say in school.
Dragonback fell because of elfs.

Thorek was mortally wounded by neferata and struck his anvil with his last breaths to attempt to take as many with him as he could. That's bad ass.
I agree but that's a bad example
8:29 weak ass defenses = no waaagghh
Strong ass defenses = end game crisis had been activated
Dwarfs so stubborn they refuse to believe what they see with their very own eyes if it disagrees with some stories their ancestors told them
“Dragon? Nonsense! There hasn’t been a dragon in these parts for a thousand yeeeeeeaaars…”
This was a fun listen, I really enjoyed it. Almost sounded like a slapstick comedy show.
A Human Boy lore video? Impossible. There hasn't been one of those around here in like, 639 years
Every lore event related to Dwarfs was Dwarfs being stupid.

a constant "nah, it'll be fine"

Dragonback Slayers's backstory?

A true tale of dwarven stubbornness

These dwarves don’t seem very bright
yeah they have stunted growth and mental development
Ah yes, another episode of Clan Scribbles Book Club.
