i forgot how great this song really was. i've always loved it and always will. talk about "feeling it" when he goes into his lead solo. ya, i can feel that one. and it feels really good..
Great job. I usually don't like people going off on their own on a cover, but you played the whole song correctly and THEN you went off on your own. Very beautiful. Thank you for posting
Great scenery does Jimi's song so well and this rendition moves me
Well done... from an ardent Jimi Perfectionist!

HENDRIX CLASSIC
Magic,Captured Jim is feel,Kool😂😂
Good afternoon! I saw Jimi in Toronto in 1969 and had a '64 Strat and Marshall with effects before he left us.
If this is modern American country, this is very good. I"m hearing some Allman Brothers harmony leads, nice.
When I say modern American country, in Canada, starting over ten years ago in the prairie provinces,
I was hearing the values of Electric Ladyland recordings, even "1983 a merman I would be".....
Jimi used a highly feed-backing tone for his solo, played only on the B string, what I recommend here.
What I hear as an improvement over the original is jamming the ending out, what I'd do onstage.
oh and beautiful scenery video amazing u took these urself wow. great job
Very awesome rendition!!
Wow!!!!!!❤❤❤❤
Excellent - really well done.
Very nice cover!

man, just incredibly good guitar work in this cover Robert....love the dual lead guitars in the solo and the nice reverse fx.....i'm sure Jimi would have done something similar if he had access to todays tech

"May This Be Love"
Waterfall, nothing can harm me at all,
My worries seem so very small
With my waterfall...
Surely no one can stand in the way of their being baptized with water. They have received the Holy Spirit just as we have.
I can see my rainbow calling me
Through the misty breeze
Of my waterfall...
And He who was sitting was like a jasper stone and a sardius in appearance; and there was a rainbow around the throne, like an emerald in appearance. As the appearance of the rainbow in the clouds on a rainy day, so was the appearance of the surrounding radiance.
Some people say day-dreaming's
For all the, huh, lazy minded fools
With nothing else to do...
Anyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but anyone who speaks against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven, either in this age or in the age to come.
So let them laugh, laugh at me,
So just as long as I have you
To see me through,
I have nothing to lose 'long as I have you...
And so I tell you, every kind of sin and slander can be forgiven, but blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven.
Waterfall, don't ever change your ways.
Fall with me for a million days,
Oh, my waterfall...
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever. For I the Lord do not change; therefore you, O children of Jacob, are not consumed. Of old you laid the foundation of the earth, and the heavens are the work of your hands. They will perish, but you will remain; they will all wear out like a garment. You will change them like a robe, and they will pass away, but you are the same, and your years have no end. Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change. Have you not known? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He does not faint or grow weary; his understanding is unsearchable. Forever, O Lord, your word is firmly fixed in the heavens. The counsel of the Lord stands forever, the plans of his heart to all generations. Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever you had formed the earth and the world, from everlasting to everlasting you are God. Your faithfulness endures to all generations; you have established the earth, and it stands fast. To the King of ages, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen.
You see folks: Jimi won't mind a bit about me clarifying what I believe he was referring to within those lyrics. Cause me & him ran around the very same Jump School Track @ Ft. Benning. Him about 10 yrs. before me. If he does; then that'll be between him, me, & God.
-U.S. Paratrooper Sgt. William 'Rock' Gilpin 82nd Abn. Div. 1/504 way back in 1974.
So here's to you Jimi...
''His Ever Changing Dirt''
For every living thing & it's seed
Comes from & returns back to
His Ever Changing Dirt
Yet: in-between those two times
Are they not fashioned by
His will, His Light, & His Life Giving Waters? 102921
Water is life..............................................
All that I can add is BRAVO !!! I loved this Hendrix tune as a 14 year old boy I am now 62 and must admit that you have done a superb job on this song, extending also gives the listener added time to enjoy this beautiful song, thank you very much for posting, I hope to one day see you guys perform.
Thanks John, wish I was anywhere close to such a player/writer/performer as Jimi. You can check our band out on ruclips.net/user/Vaughan brothers band. Just a hobby band having fun on the weekends! Please do!
Excellent!
to dislike you have to jealous
Man you nailed this and Pali Gap. Maybe better, certainly different and not worse. I love it. Jimi or you.
Beauitiful song, beautiful rendition, and yet, according to Mitch Mitchell, Hendrix considered this song to be "filler", which is why it was never performed on stage.
good job elijah
Spooky
I would love to hear other music from you. What's your official channel?
i like this more than the original sorry
Definitely the best version I've heard also. What effects are you using on the guitars in the last solos? I think your Pali gap is the best one I've heard also. Do you have more material?
Dear Kevin, Thanks so much for these kind words. Yes, I do have many more tunes, and much in the way of Hendrix covers (with my own touches of improv jams). The effects in the last (original) solos of May This Be Love is "backwards guitar" where I composed the harmonies forward, and then figured out how to play them so when turned around backwards, they come together. Takes quite a bit of studio time and Jimi used lots of backward guitar in his studio recordings. If you go to www.soundcloud.com (free) and search for "Dr. Bob's Strat'Ovarious", I have quite a number of tunes there but the Hendrix covers are: Axis Bold as Love, House Burning Down, Little Wing, Wind Cries Mary, and All Along the Watchtower (plus Pali Gap and May This Be Love). I am also adding "1983, A Merman I Should Turn to Be... Moon Turn the Tides Gently, Gently Away". I also have three albums on iTunes (search "Robert M. Williams"): (1) Strat'Osphere, (2) Strat'Ovarious, (3) Strat'Ogee. Album #4 (Strat'Ogists) will be released soon.Sounds Like you're a guitar player so please listen to "Knocking on Heaven's Door" (SoundCloud and Strat'Ovarious). All this is available via Spotify as well. Enjoy and thanks. Bob
Robert Williams! I've been thinking about your version of "May This Be Love", and I have an idea for you.
First of all, Jimi was about being creative, playing guitar, songs, clothes and stage presence.
I'm seeing you as not being a clone band, but trying to do a faithful cover version of this song,
and you've got it down, you're still alive to play it, and you're jamming out the ending with your style.
Why not update the words to say you are co-writers of a new song, with music by Jimi Hendrix?
This could also free you up from having to be so note for note all the time, if you're playing it live.
Here are some suggested lyrics, yeah... font that disappears from my fingers....
just like the notes I sing, and the sounds my guitar makes. No intellectual copyright laws apply here.
I am substituting words as beats, when Jimi has more than one note for some words as melody.
I could write better lyrics if I just went with the notes he sang.
my love life, can't begin to touch me at all, this glowing screen is so cold, this hand-held device.
I can't see, her eyes looking at me, there's no gentle touch, in this text message.
End users say they want to get together, bill paying fools with no real offline life,
the just have font, texts to send, wireless signals that never end
micro-waved brains, as spun as satellites orbit this earth
let me see, in my reality, all the way we an share our lives, oh, it's wonderful.

Put the cover in the title.
You have a lot of guitars in there. I guess I was talking about the one it sounds like they're some kind of human voice on it. On one of the guitars it sounds like there is some kind of envelope filter . Maybe it's the overtones that are giving some kind of human vocal quality in my ears Along with the Slide guitar
