    Well done video! No annoying music, clear concise instruction, torque specs for those so inclined, and straight to the point... Now if you can whip up some videos on '97 F-250 Powerstrokes, that'd be great. Great job on this one!

    Damn this job was so much easier than I thought. I had a Pontiac Bonneville and while it only had 6 spark plugs, they were a pain to replace. I just replaced my spark plugs on my Tundra with some Denso ones and man does it make a difference. It's running in tip top shape. 230,000 miles and hopefully many more! Thanks for the video!

    A few suggestions. 1) Double check that gap in your manual. 2) Use anti-seize on the new threads. 3) Dialectic grease for the plug tops where meeting the coilpacks.

    This is awesome!
    Got an '06 Tundra w/87k miles and Firestone wants to charge me $18.99x8 for the spark plugs and $141.10 in labor, as a recommended service. That's $296.02, not including tax!
    Watching this makes me wanna go get that spark plug socket and do it myself.

      Thank you for watching! General rule of thumb is 50k but I know there are people out there that swear special tipped plugs go 120k which I don't really buy. If I were you I would change them, because the newer the plug the easier it is to get a spark and the less of a toll it takes on your ignition system as a whole. I hope this helps!

    @carlossantana4552 7 лет назад +2

    Did you anti size the threads?

    • @ResistanceIsFreedom
      @ResistanceIsFreedom 6 лет назад +27

      While I seriously doubt you're still looking for an answer, if anyone else sees this; All major plug manufacturers, and Toyota (among other manufacturers) specifically state not to use anti-seize on their iridium plugs. They already come with a coating on the threads for this purpose. Their reason is that anti-seize can act as a lubricant and can cause the torque values to be off, leading to over tightened plugs and thread damage. It doesn't matter how perfect your torque wrench is, the plugs are designed to go on dry, so lubricating them would decrease the torque rating to achieve the same tightness.
