- Dropshot fishing isn't something I make a habit of doing, but I had some worms left over from a previous trip and thought they'd work perfectly for some Perch on the Leeds Liverpool Canal.
A lovely scenic spot, I'm out on a dog walk hunting for this striped assassin! I love Perch Fishing and drop shot fishing to catch perch was great fun and something I would recommend!

Another ace video , really good to see an angler happy catching average perch as opposed to the specimen hunters , and nice fish care and handling , the trend of holding perch horizontal by the bottom lip ticks me off . Iris so well behaved , especially being a Lab near water LOL .
Btw , the reason there are two of each shoe in that tree is because its a PAIR tree - yeah -I'll get me coat .

Dropshotting is something I've tended to do both autumn and winter months, but with patchy results. You'll have to give me a masterclass at the Chorley end! 👍

@@japanesefishingadventures I seemed to do better on the river, which is strange as there must be many more perch in the canal!
If you live down the Chorley end, get yourself down to Johnson's Hillock at Whittle-le-Woods, I've had some nice perch out of the L & L from this area
@@peteredwards1528 me too, but usually old school float and lobworm! I think the 2nd one up has been drained recently. I found that a good spot in winter when the boat traffic is quiet.👍

I got in to lure fishing for this same reason,, but my beagle can be a right Knob when We are out 😆.

Good luck so efffective, on canals I’ve found as lighter weight as possible is best! That slow drop down is what tempts them 😀 thanks for watching pal!

Hey mate!!! Thank you for your kind words! Worms are king when it comes to perch I can’t disagree with you! But if you get the conditions right the artificial scan be just as good! Gets hate in the modern climb the worm but it’s the ultimate bait ACROSS THE BOARD! 🤣

Is there big perch in the Leeds and Liverpool canal ?
There’s some massive Perch - check out some of the later vids! 🤣 but they are tough to find in the winter months! Need to know where to go as they follow the bait fish into the deeper parts of the canal!
