Makes sense, that perch definitely looked like it had been in a tussle with another. If a big one did take a small one on the way in though, I doubt there would be enough exposed hook to hook-up. Perhaps though!
Really glad u enjoyed it.under that lege at the end there live monsters u need live bait or worm 🐛 really there's even rumours someone has put a cat fish in there

What a great way to finish the session.😲 A lovely day, at a stunning lake.🫣 Thank you so much for taking us with you.👍 Until the next one, take care and stay safe.😷
I grew up catching abandoned quarry perch. One day I caught 66 perch (66 "catches") in one afternoon from a hole in the weeds just in front of me, all the same size you were catching and mostly all on a single red maggot. I had a float on but I was dropping a maggot in and it was away before the float hit the water. I would watch them suck the maggot in and just lift them out. Several times I would catch one, toss it back and then watch that exact same fish go for the bait and I'd catch the same fish twice in a row. I started taking tally marks around 20 something, I was alone and I told my friends about it and none of them believed me. 'MON THE DEED DUG!
@@adventurefishinguk I'm quite new too it, I use metal's in the sea mostly, with a few different top water and shllow diver's, fresh water not done alot as yet.

Awesome place to fish! I would not believe the rumors of there being no pike, its such an old water and thered plenty of bait. Waters like that can be super tricky for pike and it doesnt seem like its fished a lot so people probably just gave up. Maybe a video later in the year fishing deadbaits? You never know!

My question with all these spots is do you need a permit? I'm put off fishing many spots due to the rabbit hole of trying to find out what permissions you need beyond a standard fishing licence.
It really just depends on the place mate, sometimes you do sometimes you don't! Internet research normally will give you the answer. Having a look for signs works well too 👍
There are two abandoned quarrys down near me. very small one, maybe quarter if an acre in size, people who fished it managed to craft out three fishing peg. Carp in 20lb+ have come out and different fish. There is a 2nd one which is full of rudd, absolutely packed full of rudd, but once you get through the rudd there are some good tench in it, 8lb tench was caught before. "nd one you need the farmers permission to fish though and only two places to fish
@Adventure Fishing UK I would say 50 50 but as you know with fishing you cant guarantee anything but you would have a decent chance you would also have the option of targeting bass had a decent top water bass last Saturday.
@@adventurefishinguk I think the flowers just raw but the leaves and seed heads are nice too…in salads etc with permission from the landowner you can dig up the bulbs and eat those too - like normal garlic - but then the plant is ‘finished’ hence the need for permission.
A small swivel is a good idea yeah, as long as he has a couple of feet of leader it should be no trouble at all! Can be easy to reel past the swivel and damage the rod eyes though, that's something to be careful of!
Fluoro/mono leader with a small snap swivel works great for me. Swivel on the snap will make it slithtly bigger but it wont scare the perch if its tiny. I fish without a swivel at times and I dont notice a difference in catch rates
Small perch in the margins or shallows are quite possibly there because the predator grandfathers are in the deeper areas in full daylight. Perch naturally tend towards the deeps when light is strong so I'm surprised you didn't twig about why you were only getting tiddlers - with one exception. Let those small swimbaits sink well down, try progressive counts to vary the depth till you feel the line go slack, which will be either the bottom or maybe the perch of a lifetime. One of those wee ones fished as livebait on or near the bottom might have seen you packing up early from arm-ache caused by serial 2-3lb fish! (Its happened to me when I used to explore all sorts of largely unfished oddments of waters just as you're doing. One time my young brother and me stopped counting when we got to 65 sizeable perch, smallest about 1.25lbs and the biggest a bit short of 3lbs.) And not a single pike, strangely enough.. It was a big shallow water with zillions of perch fry crowding the margins with shoals of hunting biggies pushing them in towards the shoreline. We were using Mepps-minnow spinners. Deadly things, those. Fished as slow as possible. It got too repetitive so eventually we left, pretty well tired out as well as we'd "had enough". Later on that water was hit by perch disease and never seemed to regain its former ability to harbour a massive biomass of big perch...😢 Explore the deeps until whatever time the light weakens, when they'll be more inclined to patrol the margins hunting the wee things you kept catching. So - fish deep or hang around till dusk! Worth another visit maybe? (If you can get a small inflatable there you might explore those vertical shoreline cliff type areas - try jigging the deep water close in - perch love "structure") But if you do be sure to wear a flotation jacket! Tight lines!
Yeah you're probably right about that! I'd definitely have more luck going at dusk or dawn. its 100% worth another visit, not sure when i'll have the time to make it over there but i'll see what I can do!
Fair enough I can respect that, I certainly hope the person who found this spot continues to enjoy it, there are spots like this just past Tottley on the way to Bakewell I love the whole walking to to spots just as much as fishing them tbh lol👍👍

Makes sense, that perch definitely looked like it had been in a tussle with another. If a big one did take a small one on the way in though, I doubt there would be enough exposed hook to hook-up. Perhaps though!
@@adventurefishinguk could always hook up a live bait perch?
The colour on those perch were amazing post the locaction
Thanks mate!
Great Video and what a place to fish , Just awesome
Thanks mate, glad you enjoyed it!
Great video m8 just subscribed 👍 👊❤️beautiful perch m8 .
Thanks for subscribing mate, really appreciate that! Glad you enjoyed the video 👍
Really glad u enjoyed it.under that lege at the end there live monsters u need live bait or worm 🐛 really there's even rumours someone has put a cat fish in there
Thanks again for the advice mate! Are there quite a few big perch in there or just one or two? I’ll have to go back at some point for another go 👍
@@adventurefishinguk not sure how many but there breeding like mad so I'd say a few my mate got a random brown trout out once big one .problem is all the swimmers etc in summer .I've took a dingy over other side to fish b4 now they call it frog island .I had a mega day at embsy last Friday it's fishing mega in the heat wave
What a great way to finish the session.😲
A lovely day, at a stunning lake.🫣
Thank you so much for taking us with you.👍
Until the next one, take care and stay safe.😷
Thanks for coming along Ian, glad you enjoyed watching!
Well done mate, lovely surrounding, nice catch
Thanks mate, beautiful place isn't it!
I live in central Texas near Austin. It's nice to see what it is like to fish in remote areas of the UK.
I bet the fishing is great over in Texas! thanks for watching 👍
First time come across your channel. Subbed, love these types of videos natural beauty.
Thanks for subscribing I appreciate it!
I've always found that you cant beat a juicy lob worm for Perch, they cannot resist them.
Yeah I've heard they love them! Something about lure fishing just keeps me coming back though!
Nice video and stunning place to fish.
Thanks mate glad you liked it!
That sounds like a great place to fish mate, plenty of action! Thanks for watching 👍
Another belter of a video, beautiful wild place, next time you fishing Anglesey let me know, we could do a colab.😊
Thanks mate! Hopefully I’ll be there quite a bit this summer. Do you do much lure fishing?
@@adventurefishinguk I'm quite new too it, I use metal's in the sea mostly, with a few different top water and shllow diver's, fresh water not done alot as yet.
What a stunning place. What part of the country is this. My kind of solitary peaceful fishing
Thank you! The North 👍
Super perch at the end 👌👌
Hello bud! Doubt youll see this at this point but im uk based and on the look for some remote wild spots this place looks like a dream where is it? I havent finished the video so if you mention it there ignore me
Thanks for watching! Sorry unfortunately I can't give out locations on youtube
Chunk of a perch mate,well done 👍🏻
Thanks mate, my biggest in quite some time! Hoping for an even bigger one this year 👍
Awesome place to fish! I would not believe the rumors of there being no pike, its such an old water and thered plenty of bait. Waters like that can be super tricky for pike and it doesnt seem like its fished a lot so people probably just gave up. Maybe a video later in the year fishing deadbaits? You never know!
Yeah you could well be right! It is a bit smaller than it looks on camera though, but plenty of depth I suppose!
You sounded like the two tailors from the fast show , "oh suit you you sir oh oh !! Did you spend the evening with a Lady sir ? Oh did she want it sir??!, I'm just messin it's not that bad if you've not seen it check it out lol I know it's not a fishing thing but hey it'll make you laugh 😆
Hahaha just went and watched that it's so funny. Glad you showed me, cant say i can hear any sort of resemblance though 😂
Have you tried adding scents even to the scented lures?
It's not something i've ever tried mate, does it work?
What is your line setup for this sort of lure fishing?
I’m just starting out
Here i'm using 10lb braid down to an 8lb fluorocarbon leader mate 👍
@@adventurefishinguk thank you very much for the quick reply. I’d already bought some 8lb fluro but only came in a 50m length lol. Not enough I don’t think.
@@BushmanOutdoors That's plenty! You use braid on the reel, then a couple of feet of fluoro as it's invisible to the fish 👍
Reminds me a a quarry i found when i was younger in the south west, so many wild carp there. I never did catch one though.
Maybe you should head back with a rod and settle the score 👍
@@adventurefishinguk I dont think I could find it now, high cliffs on 3 sides and a thick wood on the open side. I do remember it was not possible to ledger there. Never found the bottom when I tried !
You always stand a chance of catching a silver fish on a lure when using passive baits. I've had roach, bream and rudd on passive soft plastics similar to what you are using
What's a passive bait?
We have a small lake on the isle of man that's got roach n rudd its a resivior but I've never had chance to fish there, I'm pretty impressed to hear soft plastics can catch roach n rudd etc I've seen them caught on the fly aswell 👍
@@adventurefishinguk soft plastics that don't resemble a swimbait, so like soft plastic maggots, slugs and worms, but there are a lot of other passive bait options available. I had a roach just this afternoon on a 25 mm Fish Up Tanta copy from China
@@peteredwards1528 ah yeah that makes sense! I’ll have to use them a bit more, I love a surprising catch every now and then
Can you go back there and use the perch as a bait and see what you catch?
That’s not really my style unfortunately! I bet it would work, but it’s prefer to let them go and use artificial baits 👍
As the saying goes..a big Perch is the biggest fish of all...or something like that,...great stuff
Not heard the saying myself but I’m definitely starting to agree!
What’s with all the Lmab lures recently dude? U the next one on their list??
Doing some work with them mate, not in the same capacity as the new people on their list though!
Loving the channel, really informative
Thanks for watching mate!
You should smuggle some largemouth bass up there, they would love it
legality aside, I wouldn't even know how to get my hands on them!
My question with all these spots is do you need a permit? I'm put off fishing many spots due to the rabbit hole of trying to find out what permissions you need beyond a standard fishing licence.
It really just depends on the place mate, sometimes you do sometimes you don't! Internet research normally will give you the answer. Having a look for signs works well too 👍
Cracking little video
Thanks mate!
where is this? cant find any commenst about it on the old videos?
Sorry mate I can’t give out the location on RUclips!
They sounds like great fun to fish mate I bet there’s some really interesting fish in the both of them!
Come down to Dorset and fish the stour with me when the rivers open the perch go to 5lb on my local stretch with plenty of 3s and 4s 🎣
That sounds great, stay in touch! How good would my chances be at a 3 pounder if I made the long journey down?
@Adventure Fishing UK I would say 50 50 but as you know with fishing you cant guarantee anything but you would have a decent chance you would also have the option of targeting bass had a decent top water bass last Saturday.
@@dangerousbeans8067 I’d definitely fancy it later in the year mate!
@@adventurefishinguk Wellington Weir, near Collie, Western Australia, where a 4.5 kg redfin perch was caught last year. just under 10 pound.
Lovely place that , the roach will have thought that to be a worm and snaffled it 👍👍
Thanks mate, very true! Can’t have been a nice moment of realisation for it
Hey man the day where you get a bunch of small ones make for great days!
I couldn't agree more! Thanks for watching
Superb perch, great video - really relaxing until that bite! I also love wild garlic, I hope you harvested some? It's fully edible raw or cooked 😊
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it! I didn’t harvest any unfortunately, what part of the plant is the best to eat?
@@adventurefishinguk I think the flowers just raw but the leaves and seed heads are nice too…in salads etc with permission from the landowner you can dig up the bulbs and eat those too - like normal garlic - but then the plant is ‘finished’ hence the need for permission.
You can also make a very nice soup with wild garlic
@@alison8526 some good info thank you!
Have you used red worm liquid?
Never heard of it!
ruclips.net/user/shortswF-ijWxk3X0?feature=share
George me son has been tying straight on to the lure and getting line twists could he use a small swivel to prevent this or would the fish see this 🤔🤔
A small swivel is a good idea yeah, as long as he has a couple of feet of leader it should be no trouble at all!
@@FelixFiske thank you 👍👍
@@FelixFiske thank you 👍👍
Thanks for a nice video. Personally I would take a quiet scenic setting over more ,larger fish.
Thanks mate and yeah i completely agree!
All the perch at the place I showed you are about the size of the last one, shame that trip didn't work out.
That’s a real shame mate would’ve been great fun fishing that spot!
Alright pal,,, was you up Snowden with the Mrs today?????
I wasn't mate, wish I was though!
@@adventurefishinguk good job I didn't go up to them lol,, you've got a twin mate
Mate please link me the worm lures you used please 😊
I’m sorry I don’t have a link, I’m sure if you Google LMAB finesse Filet worm you’ll see some!
Brill video amazing location and my favourite species i'm hooked lol
Thanks for watching mate, appreciate it!
There's some cracking fish in there. Not been up for a while. And there never used to be a rope on that hill.
Yeah I reckon there are some much bigger ones lurking for sure!
Could i ask where it is , , , not for fishing but for potential climbing ?? Cheers
Very scenic spot. Amazing.
Thanks mate!
Looks amazing where abouts is this?
Sorry mate it’s not my place to share!
Fair enough I can respect that, I certainly hope the person who found this spot continues to enjoy it, there are spots like this just past Tottley on the way to Bakewell I love the whole walking to to spots just as much as fishing them tbh lol👍👍
