Idk why but actually because of the lighter lip liner your lips looked a lot more plumper and bigger as compared.
I guess it created a reverse shadow as in where a darker liner used to create a shadow, a lighter liner created a color difference with your skin and created a shadow which made your lips way more plumper than a dark liner and it looks way more natural than obviously that dark lip linerrrrrrr
