In 1921, the organization "Universitets-Samvirket, Aarhus" was formed, which together with Århus Municipality came to act as a driving force in the fight to get the second university of Denmark located in Århus. The history of Aarhus University began with the inauguration of "University teaching in Jutland" in the Technical School in 1928
In 1997, Professor Emeritus Jens Chr. Skou Nobel Prize in Chemistry for the discovery of the sodium-potassium pump, as a background for transport through the cell membrane.
Aarhus University Park is one with grass, oak trees and two artificial lakes
It serves as a natural connector of the university's many buildings and as a natural free space for the university's many students and staff, as well as the city's citizens. The integration of university life into the park's green space is symbolically expressed by the wild-growing ivy and town hall wine that grows up many of the university's buildings.
In 1949, an amphitheater was added south of the university's main building, adding additional dimensions and possibilities to the park.
