Very close to what i had Coin toss between trezie and Smith down back for the other HB spot. Love the short in the midfield idea. I was thinking maybe campbell but short's a better option. We need some agility around the ball. Miller all day long over Ryan. He can play all three lines in a pinch to cover and in game injury. With Lefau coming back after the bye we can rotate our young key forwards in and out of the sides after they've played 2-3 games and need a break and Lefau can play later in the season when they're getting tired. Problem with young players is the second half of the season when the lack of years in the system start to take a tool on the body. Main thing I like about your side is there is only 2 first year players. That's the max according to Mick Malthouse you can carry. Again we've got 8 of them so if they need to drop back to the VFL just bring in one of the others.
Yeah I really wanted to throw in a few more of the new draftees too, but that wouldn't be sustainable I don't think, gotta drip feed them in some senses!
I think we will see Lalor, Smillie & Faull all debut round 1. I think Armstrong, Taj & Trainor might play a bit in the 2nd half of the year. everything depends on injuries as well to hopefully we are much more healthier in 2025.
I think Trainor could get a game if Trezise doesn't perform or subbed instead of Miller Taj is coming off a bad injury, I'd b happy to see him play 2025 in the VFL and play AFL 2026 with a full pre season in him
Not bad. The youngsters will def need to a few preseasons to get their tanks up to AFL level as it’s a significant jump from U18/VFL level. As long as the fans don’t put huge expectations on the youngsters and let them develop, we will be great long term. Kane Mc will be good to get him plenty of midfield minutes to see what he can do. Good size and great pace. Prestia as a sub is better, need to keep his miles low so his body holds up. I think Jonty is good fit there as he works his ass off and does have great hands.
Your line about the expectations is 1000% spot on. The reality is, we are going to cop a heap of losses next year while we bring our existing youngsters and new ones up to speed. Supporters just need to enjoy the journey of watching these kids develop and grow!
I agree The new drafts may get a few games here and there but I don't think they will have the durability to play every week with maybe the exception of Smilie who is built different. We don't want to injure them and focus on long term development rather than filling a gap
I’d have Taranto at half forward, he’s been getting beaten up in the midfield copping injuries my team would be B:- Broad, Balta, Trezise HB:- Trainor, Gibcus, Brown C:- Ross, McAuliffe, Ralf-Smith HF:- Taranto, Lynch, Lalor F:- Mansell, Armstrong,Faul R:- Nankervis, Prestia,Smillie Bench:- Campbell,Sonsie,Short, Bauer Em:- Rioli Lynch for second ruck or could swap out Bauer for Ryan, Ryan just not sure about yet, fast track these kids, big crowd games must play as many of them as possible to get used to playing in front of big crowds
Not sure Ross has the running to be on the wing Sims could get a chance at forward/ruck I wonder if they could make smilie a 2nd ruck who already plays on the mid
Great list, some real talent missing out which is positive. Hopefully all these spots are competitive all year. The only change I would make is Miller out and Blight in, I think Blight has crazy potential and is a more creative footballer in transition. Would also love to see Hopper and Ross in the team, but for that to happen we would need to sacrifice some development of our cubs. Coaches have a tough job this year!
Blight i do like as well, I had Miller in as the back up ruck as well. If you took him out, who would you have back up ruck? can blight do that? I'm genuinely not sure ha ha. Ross very unlucky to miss here!
I love the backline, wings and forward line. First Ruck Nank, Taranto, Campbell. Interchange Jack Ross, Mccauliffe, Smilie, Ryan. Prestia sub every week that way he plays a quarter and half and has real impact. This team rocks
@@paulkyriakopoulos3444 oh no, another raft of top end talent to complete a rebuild in 2 years after winning 3 flags not long ago, whatever will we do..

we need a CHF though, Faull looks like he could have a crack round one. It's that or Campbell Gray. and in reality if we see more upside in Faull and not much difference in output between the 2 now, then go with Faull.
@@BigFootyTigerscast They take time mate & Faull will get blown up at AFL level if he has to play high. Sampson or Miller will probably have to chop out Lynch until Koschitzke can get back. Unfortunately the Tiges are going to be in a perilous position with absorbing injuries for the next few years. There'll be some beltings. It's par for the course.
@@BigFootyTigerscast I do agree but not sure how that will translate into AFL because that play style is tough but I think Armstrongs play style will land him a couple marks and shots at goal
We should of got Jagga with pick 2 even if we had to trade out 6.. well regret it when looking back.. Jagga and Ashcroft best two in draft clearly.. others still going to be fantastic but in retrospect well regret not having a crack at Jagga

Ross is underrated. We were much better with him in last year. He’ll be in.

How about short on the wing. Ross in the middle, Prestia on the bench? Sam Banks out unfortunately.

not to the curb, but it is for speed / team balance reasons. I'd need to know if he can add playing at half forward to his game before I'd slot him back in.

You don't even know his name! casual
@drgreenthumb1348 mykellte casual I call him the big kiwi
Agree. He had a big impact considering limited AFL grounding and was a contested beast. Need him in the fwdline.
I don't think we will see him till mid year approx based on when he did his knee, maybe slightly earlier.
not ready until mid year
I’d take out Prestia and put in Hopper
