Have a nice and much deserved week off Tim!!!
This channel is a treasure.
neither Canadian smoke or North Saharan dust were a thing a short time ago.....the weather dynamics are changing fast.
We've had Saharan dust for years at this time of year. I live in Florida.
During WW2, North African dust kicked up by the Afrika Korps/Allies conflict was blown across the Atlantic by tropical easterlies, The dust was subsequently observed in the Western Hemisphere.
When in grad school at MSU some 45 years ago I learned much about jet stream meteorology in my synoptic climatology course and advanced regional climatogy studies. It is good to see the 500mb analyses again. Thank you.
PS I stumbled upon your channel by sheer coincidence. So good, I just had to subscribe. :)
Thanks, Tim!
Kinda hard to cover the whole country in less than 20 minutes, plus the useful extras (e.g., bulk shear and dust in the hurricane region) you include from time to time. I have no problem with the length of your videos, keep it coming!. Enjoy your week off! Thanks.
Many thanks. Smoke and heat in N. Idaho on the gain. Drought well under way. Will need a lot of rain to balance.
We still have a rain deficit in central florida.
Thank you, Tim! Enjoy your vacation. Where do meteorologist take summer vacations? Hawaii?? 🙂
Thanks Again. And never long winded😂
