Got James Reyne to thank for getting me onto Jason & The Scorchers. He gave them his seal of approval on an episode of Beatbox and to this day, White Lies, the song played on that particular episode, remains my favourite of theirs, with Golden Ball & Chain not too far behind.
Still Standing may have been the first album of theirs I heard, but Lost And Found is my favourite.
    Lone Justice-hell yes!
Picked up on them round the same year as Jason & The Scorchers (1985) one very early Sunday morning watching Music Video ( then hosted by the late and greatly missed subject of the killer Painters & Dockers song Basia, Basia Bonkowski) and being hooked immediately with Ways To Be Wicked.
Their self-titled debut's one of my all-time favourite albums and while I don't think Shelter is quite as good, the title track I'm quite fond of. Makes me think of the summer between December '86 and February '87 where I was due to start high school one minute and then see my life change just as high school starts, but that's a whole other story.
    Cheers!

Interesting chat. I discovered J&tS via Halcyon Times in 2010 as it was co-written by Ginger Wildheart who I'm a big fan of. I have the Fervor/Lost & Found but not the album you discussed. I've never seen Jason but have seen Warner several times with Dan Baird and more recently with his solo band, always a great show.
A twofer with the Georgia Sats would've been a good show in the 80s or maybe with ACDC.
Nice anecdote about Lemmy, btw Reading Festival is pronounced redding rather than how it is spelt.
What do you think of Farmer Jason?

Saw them live twice in London in '85, first time supporting Los Lobos who they blew offstage (Los Lobos were great, but couldnt follow the Scorchers).
Then saw them headlining a 4th July show with The Blasters supporting. Both bands were totally on fire and this still stands as a top three gig for me.
