Fun premise for a video. The Lynyrd Skynyrd song " Working for the MCA " says it all really. The Angels/Angel City should have been massive. Love the band, and have seen them multiple times in the early days.Great show!.

Nice interview, Peter. To be blunt l wasn’t familiar with Ronnie, but he’s got a hell of a CV. He’s played with a lot of interesting bands and artists. And, he called out my favourite Ramones song, too! When l was on GRW a few months back, my number one Ramones song was “My Brain Is Hanging Upside Down (Bonzo Goes to Bitburg)!” My favourite tune to jam live - during my decade plus with a few different Ramones Tribute Bands - was ALWAYS “Bonzo.” What a cracker of a song, as you would say. 😉 Also quite surprising was when he name checked one of my top tier B.J. albums. Just goes to show you, never judge a book by its cover! Keep up the excellent work that you do, here on RDN. ~ Davey Cretin, from Cretin Classics.

Interesting that Ronnie seems to infer he’ll still be with the Tatt’s when they do their final gig, as Angry posted a while back on Facebook that Rockin’ Rob Riley is going to be coming back in at some point. “TATTS UPDATE… Brothers and Sisters, so where to start? Well, it may not be common knowledge, as no official release has been made thus far, so here goes,..1976-2026,...come 2026 The Rosie Tatts will be fifty years old as a name and band operating, on and off, over that period of time, so I'm seeing that year as a fitting time to retire dear old Rosie. In keeping with that decision I'm wanting to honour the invaluable contribution of past members by asking them to come back into the line-up for one last go around. Stephen 'Kingy' King, Gordon 'Geordie' Leach and Robin, RRR, Riley will come back for a bow out as we retire Old Rosie. First cab off the rank will be Kingy. Our beloved brother Mark, will step out to make way for Kingy for our upcoming September Tour dates and the rest of 2024. Mark has been a joy to work with and has made a wonderful contribution to the band's history, so it is with sadness that we say goodbye to him but there is a saying amongst us that, "Once a Tatt, always a Tatt!" so Mark will always be with us, in spirit, whenever we take to the stage. So, there you have it, the end of an era is now in sight, on a lighter note, we are working on new material and we hope to put together a new album soon; it's been a hellava ride and would not have been possible without you, the faithful, both old and new but as George Harrison so wisely said:- “All things must pass". I'll write more on our plans for the next couple of years later but for now, adios amigos. There is much love in me for you, we cannot thank you all enough for your contribution, for the loyalty and love you have shown us over the years; remember, it ain't over until the fat lady sings.. but I can hear her warming up! - Ango.”

I'm not seeing what everyone else is seeing. 'Perfect Strangers' is mediocre and only a bit better than the spotty and mixed bag, 'Stormbringer'. It's not like they didn't have time to write a bunch of great songs.

For me, there's a big difference between Purple and Sabbath. I love Purple but for me, only the Mk2 albums are really good and only before 'Perfect Strangers'. From that album onwards, it all fizzles out. Whereas for Sabbath, the Dio era is awesome plus most of the Tony Martin albums.

If You Don't Like Rock 'n' Roll Do You Close Your Eyes L.A. Connection No Time to Lose Midtown Tunnel Vision Tite Squeeze Fire Dance Stand and Fight I think the catalog of Rainbow overall is quite strong. The only thing that drags it down is the amount of average rockers/fillers on the albums beyond Dio. I don't dislike the songs but it is often obvious what songs got a lot of attention and what was something to just fill in the albums. If they only given all the songs a similar amount of work I think the catalog could been outstanding.

Bonnet, did great on that Down to Earth, and I also like Joe Lynn Turner, difficult to cure, great album. My favourite album is Long live rock and roll, a masterpiece. But all their other albums with Dio are a very close 2nd, for me anyway. Great chat lads, cheers🤘

The line in Jailbreak always bothered me: Tonight there‘s gonna be a jailbreak somewhere in this town“ (probably in jail, just a guess) and kind of ruins the song. How can such a great songwriter and lyricist come up with this? And ironically this is probably his most famous lyric. 😅

My favourite Rainbow,is the Dio era. However the arrival of Graham Bonnet and Joe Lynn Turner, Ritchie’s penchant for ‘melodic content’ and Roger Glover’s ear for Pop sensibility having been a Producer of hit singles for other artists. Rainbow wasn’t exclusively a ‘blokes’ act anymore. And why not, indeed! but the crib-sheet lyric “Drinking With The Devil, I’m a Rock’n’Roll Rebel’ sinks that track for me. The issued Live version of ‘Stranded’ was superior to the plodding/slower studio version. Reed mentions Ritchie and guitar synth, Ritchie played one on ‘Sail Away’, on Deep Purple’s Burn album.

A coworker and I used to goof on GB occasionally. I used to joke that the guy in the white suit was my accountant and did my taxes every year. Bwhahahahahahahaha! Alright! Reed mentioned the barn burner known as “Fire Dance!” I’ve always loved that song since l first bought the album. Bent Out of Shape was my first Rainbow purchase and l bought it on vinyl. I liked the two songs l saw the videos to on the NBC 🦚 show Friday Night Videos. Of course, those tunes were “Street of Dreams” and “Can’t Let You Go.” But “Fire Dance” smokes!
