My favorite was your last one. Get rid of toxic people! A year ago I did this and a huge weight was lifted. You were reconfirming I did the right thing. Thank you, Nancy! 💕

It’s a privilege to get old, my Dad died at just 51 and my Mum at just 49, I was in my very early 20s and now I’m mid 70s and I’m so proud/grateful to have you to this age. 😊

I will be 65 in two days. And I’m proud of it. My age doesn’t bother me a bit. I’ve always been optimistic too. I normally look for the good in any situation. I used to worry a lot. But not anymore. I finally realized it did no good. And I stopped. I think with age comes wisdom is definitely true. I clean my closet out constantly. I have gained weight from the medication I take. And I’m learning to deal with the body I have. I don’t want it, but I’m stuck with it right now. So I’m dealing with it. We moved to a different state five years ago. And it was to get away from toxic people. We were related to a lot of them. But our life is so much easier now. It was wonderful to get away. And I’m so happy we did.

I'll turn to 60 . After watching this video, it let me know I have to think positive to everything. Aging is a natural experience to every one. I will get old but I'm not lonely because my friends around me will also get old. No judgement to other people, and no need to worry about something that has not yet happened. I'm impressed in the above two points. Thanks for your sharing.

The quote that I have heard from ladies close to my age lately is, "I want to stay relevant." I say, "I am my most relevant right now!" Just like you are saying Nancy. I have wisdom and knowledge that I never had before. This is the best time of my life : )

I'd like to add this to the skin issues. I have been diagnosed with Squamous Cell skin cancer on the tip of my nose, it's already stage 2 within 2 months and some Squamous Cell Carcinomas can be very aggressive. I had one of those on my shin. My Dermatologist and Surgeon both told me that it's likely these are from childhood. My mom never would allow me to use sunscreen as a child, they didn't have it when she was little was her reason. I am extremely fair, unlike my olive skinned mother. Please make sure to slather on sunblock--on your kids and yourself. I may end up having to get more surgery to close the hole in my nose this will leave so please keep you and your family safe.

Thanks for a very inspiring and plain spoken talk about age. I am 78 and for several years now have been facilitating groups to empower retirees. This is my latest career after being an academic for decades. I always make a point of stating my age proudly and pointing out that the only way not to age is to die young, so I prefer to age.

So absolutely true about wasting our time worrying about things that never materialise! I try to stop doing that. I have also made a habit, starting about a year ago, that, before I go to sleep at night, I go over everything I have done for myself that day, right from getting 8 hrs. sleep, to walking 3 miles, the good food I consumed to skin care. It changes my focus and encourages me to continue in that positive vein.

That’s a great story about your mom! I recently turned 66. On my 65th birthday, we celebrated at my mother in laws house. People were wishing me happy birthday. I said thank you and that I was officially old( I had googled to find out what age was concerned old) and almost in unison, a group of people said “ OLD-ER!”….we do need to embrace Old.

Great video! Guilt over things that happened so long ago I can't do anything other than learn from them can be done without, but I think every day situations can sometimes bring a tinge of guilt that shows us how we may still have a chance to fix something, for example, if I don't take the time to really listen to someone's problems because I was preoccupied with something else and realize that later, I can reach out to them and follow up. AI like the thought of being given a closet full of items but only 25% of them actually work for us - really points out what we have often set up for ourselves! As for age, my mother always loved to tell people how old she was (over 95 when she passed away) because they would invariably politely say, "Oh, you don't look it!" 😄

@@kathygann7632 I know what you mean, but I also find it instructive because often when I feel guilty about something, there's a good reason and it actually helps me try to be a better person. We're not meant to stay in guilt, but to understand why we may be feeling that way, whether it is merited, and what to do in the future.

I am 80 and don’t feel old. People are surprised to hear my age since I don’t walk old. Nw 70 or 60 sounds young. I nerve paid much attention to my age when I was younger except on my birthday. I am surprised to have gotten this old, but since I had a stressful job I took good care of myself. BTW I have gorgeous old clothes that don’t fit me and still love to look at them. I might make something else out of them so I can use those beautiful fabrics. In any case this is one thing I do differently from the usual advice.
