    I encountered this exact IC TNY279PG in a computer power supply and it was used to provide the standby 5v.
    The problem was this ic is shorted, so I replaced it and the standby 5v was back and is very stable at 5v and no matter how long I kept it powered it keeps working good and providing a stable 5v, but whenever I short green wire to ground (black wire) this IC gets shorted. I replaced it many times and even with a higher wattage ic but still gets shorted a few seconds after shorting green wire to black, and while the wires are shorted together, the power supply works and provides 12v at the output yet still that standby 5v ic gets shorted and blows the fuse.
    So I couldn't fix it and not only one power supply but many of the same type and model with the same exact issue.
    There wasn't any shorts neither at the primary nor the secondary sides...!!!

    Sir I really want to know where is ground on secondary(output) transformer winding left or right winding is a ground winding?.or we can know the ground on diode or any component that is connected with transformer winding ground.please help me sir

      the polar capacitor is to be used as a reference point for measurement

    I have a big challenge in designing toroidal inductor for my mppt charge controller I'm designing the solar power is 660watt for two panels to charge two batteries of 12v/200ah each , the solar panel open circuit voltage is 45.9v with short circuit current of 9.31A, operating voltage is 37.5v and the battery cycle use is 14.4v and maximum charge voltage of the battery is 15v. Kindly assist me in determining the toroidal core size and power rating a also and all the calculation to determine wire size anf number of turns. The Fsw is 200kHz. I want to use toroidal powdered iron core or ferrite EE core
