looks like a top job!, when you see a for sale ad for a transit and it says "rust free" it does not mean there is no rust, i means you are not being charged for the rust!!! 😉
😂😂😂
Love the old transits
Don’t we all 😂
Good to have you back John has Benny left no more Benny Hill carry on.
Yes your stuck with me now
I love Transits 😁😁 great video Sir 🎩 cap doffed 👍👍
Thanks 👍
Its always the way with cutting the outter sill off you think your going to get away with then you hit it with the grinder. And then the inner is made with filler. Nice one John a few tips there.👍
And you get about 15mins in and wonder why you agreed to do it
PRO job.....👍👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks 😊
Good job
Thanks
Here it all most looks like u know wot ur doing 😅 really good video nice welds
I really don’t 😜
Never an easy assignment on a Transhit... but you've definitely given it a new lease of life !
Nice job fella..
Glad you enjoyed it
Brilliant job John, solid metal work as usual 👍
Glad you enjoyed it
Quality job that,spot on mate👍
Thanks 👍
What a fantastic welding fabrication you did. Very impressed... so now I need to bring my transit to you for some welding..
Go for it! Will be happy to help
Cracking job ..neat, tidy, accurate and strong ..the only thing is ..there are no drainage holes ..the very reason it rotted in the first place. in the uk most winter days cars vans covered in condensation...not only will it be on the outside of the sill but also inside all lower panels ..the droplets of water run down into the seam and build up ..there may be 1./2 pint of water trapped in there over winter months, all from condensate...so all that hard work may be undone.
The small indentations at the bottom of the panel as a drain hole in 2 spots
Thanks
Well done that man 😊
Thanks 😁 check out some other videos 😜

👍I feel your pain...I've recently finished a year long welding job on my 08 transit, she was like that both sides & both door steps & all four inner wheel arches... Exhausting...💚🇬🇧🌱
That’s a big job ……

Nice job 👏👏👏
Thank you! Cheers!
very good t transit man suomi finland t jari🙂🙂🤗👍👌
Great job! Done a few of these myself 😂. Great van but rust from the inside out...
Good van just made of tin 🫣🤣
I do so many Transits I don't bother buying anything except wings, I just make it up out of sheet. I can fold/bend the sill sections without even measuring at this stage. One massive PITA spot on these is the very front of the sills where they run into the front arches. Usually there's no real end to the rust in that area. PITA area...
When you hit factory filler/sealer, grab a Map gas torch & burn the area to toast - it leaves the sealer scraping off easily leaving clean metal without any dicking about sanding off shyte for ages. The sealant is in between the steel layers(people who know will know) so nothing else works - a flame is your Pal. Otherwise the welder will sulk, 'cos welders don't like welding onto sealant contamination.
You’ve got to love a transit …..😭😭😭
Nicely done, did you do a video of filling and painting it.
No sorry …. We just did the welding 😊
💯💙
👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻
Looks a nice job you have saved another workhorse for many years of service. Just subscribed to your chanel
Did those panels have any drainage built into them?
Yes they have dimples in on the seam
And Thanks 😊
Great work glad u have own channel seen u few times do stuff for shine automotive typical transit rust shame some idiot bodged it lol
Thanks it’s hard work but a good laugh too do 😂
Exactly better than ford did lol
Tidy enough job👍🏻
The only thing you should have done is coat both surfaces of the seam with copper weld to spray before you spot welded it, so it doesn’t rot in between.
Good point thanks
The rest of that van will be long gone before that happens. We have a fleet of them and they’re the worlds worst rust buckets.
@@waynegriffiths5143 if I buy a new van I wax oil the cavities and Shultz everywhere else….. last long time👍🏻
I did mine every year …. Bloody thing still found some place too rot 😊😊
Hi Mate, do you do any welding courses i.e. day a week? obviously paid? Looking not to learn how to do this but where to start and what gear I need to learn.
No sorry I dont but people out there do ….. get a welder watch some RUclips and have a go (just don’t put a gasless welder pointless) good luck 😉
Nicely done that, how much did this job cost including your labour?
Can’t really remember maybe £300 all in 😊
Just stripping out my interior ,to do all inner / outer sills on mark 6 jumbo !!!😳😳😳😳
Good luck 😉 😂😂😂
Hate welding up transits 😂
They all end up this way
@@JWFabrication1 exactly sprinter way forward
With 3mm sheet that'll last longer than the rest of it... 👍
We are all thick ere
i Ent got a clue why i didn't subscribe mate as im sure i did and set it the notifications so when you post i see them strange but anyway hit subscribe awesome video as always mate :)
Thanks for the sub …. 😉 don’t miss any
@@JWFabrication1 your most welcome mate. And definitely not mate 100% always watch all your videos mate I think the kids have had my phone lol or been on my laptop 💻 lol
Hello, where do you buy the panels?
Car van bits
What would a job like that cost ?
It all depends how bad it is really but £300/£400
@@JWFabrication1 I’d happily pay that. Excellent work, do you take on customer work or just through trade ?
Finally someone galvanized the Transit chassis with spray paint🤣
Anything is better than rust 😂😂😂
@@JWFabrication1 You can't stop rust, it's like cancer.
How much did it cost
What just the sill
Why the Awfull music ... Its a narration vifeo NOT a dance music video ... i can never undertstand why youtubers think its great to ruin a video by adding overly loud crappy music 👎👎👎
Awful??? Think you mean awesome…. If you don’t like different varieties of music this is the wrong channel for you as we love all music here
watching you rubYour eyes made me cringe but great job anyway.
Rub my eyes ? Lol
Costs more than the van is worth........ unless you want to be a busy fool for bread and water 😂😂😂 in any case the man who drives a rotten old van does it because he's got no money and can't pay you to do it
Thank you for the views 😉
I've got a crusty old transit (2010) but the running gear is excellent. It has 110,000 miles (they're good for 300,000 miles if cared for). The van is not customer-facing so the fact that it's tatty is irrelevant. Today, I watched a video about new transits and their run-in-oil cam belts. That made consider getting my transit welded and getting a few more years out of it which is why I'm watching this video.
@@gosskamperis2016 How bad is it? Just the sills? Also, to add to your excellent points - lets not forget that the price of secondhand vans has almost doubled since covid.... more reason to make friends with your local welder.
@@MrSuperheterodyne Thank you for your reply. It's mainly the sills which have been patched. I reckon it's worth having them cut-out and replaced.
@@gosskamperis2016 definitely worth it.... cheapest Transit I could find with no serious rust and a long MOT was a Mark 7 for £4800. Welding sills will be much cheaper than having to replace the van. Also it's the devil you know. If all else is ok, then you know what you have.
Nice job 👌
Thanks 😁
