Sorry I think I talked too much in this one. Feel free to turn down the volume and enjoy the scenery 😐

Used to ride my horse up there in the 1970s .
Any Loma Prieta people reading this?

I drove up there once with a friend. Almost. We were young but I THINK we went along Summit Road, saw a bunch of people riding dirt bikes on the way out there, then came upon a chain "gate" that was open, so we drove in. After a while we hit another gate so we turned around only to find that the chain was stretched across the dirt road and locked.
After awhile a guy came up, chewed us out then unlocked it. 🙃

Nice hike. You have a good pace. I'm pretty slow. Good idea on the wilderness first aid course. I'm going to be heading to Henry Cowell for some car camping today. Thinking about getting in a hike.

If you're in the right area check out the Father Of The Forest (I think) and Mother too. Makes Big Ben look tiny, like 2,000 year old mammoth trees. I haven't seen them myself. Have fun up there!

@@outsidewithmike It was chill. Just stayed around the campsite mostly. Hiked the easy trail that surrounds it. Checked out Roaring Camp. It was really smokey out there. I guess there was a controlled burn at Henry Cowell somewhere.

Nice summary! What backpack are you using?

I got it on Amazon. I like it and it's pretty tough for a lower priced Amazon pack. From a company called "Skysper" and the model is Bogda. Was under $40 when I bought it. Great daypack and I used it on Mt Whitney as well.
Main reason I bought it is that it has a hip belt similar to a larger pack. It does a good job of transferring most of the weight off my shoulders and onto my hips. It's not quite as good at it as a larger pack, but works pretty well.
My larger pack in other videos is an REI Flash 55. Anyways, here's the one in this video...(wow, long URL!)
