    I love everything about this... of course the fabulous antique tool, the Field Notes National Crop box, and especially the sake decanter to dispense the water! 💜💜💜

    This is absolutely lovely !!!! Very unique and exquisite workmanship... I remember using the sponge to count notes in our shop run by my parents.. Though I have been guilty of using water on paper, I prefer the more traditional corner page turning in books now.. Thank you for sharing..

    I love the look, story and, craftsmanship of the the device
    Yet it feels like a gimmick but because moisturizing your hands works just as well
    But I don’t have experience experience having my work flow and desk be entirely books maybe your hands just get really dry after a couple hours or working with paper
    I also thought you put moisture on the page there for missing up the books. What if to much water gets on your hands? Do you carry a cloth or wipe of the excess on your chair, clothing or, some other type of reachable convenient absorbent fabric.
    I also really want to have a peak at the insides the fat that it’s been working for a hundred years is intriguing to me (someone how had been surrounded by cheap over produced products for to long)

    • @BlankFirstPage
      @BlankFirstPage  10 месяцев назад

      I think I was putting too much water into it, and if you use it frequently you learn to just dab your finger onto it rather than press it like I was doing.
      I think the inside would be pretty simple - which would explain why it's lasted so long! My guess is just a spring underneath it to keep it pushed up.
      Thanks for watching!

    • @BlankFirstPage
      @BlankFirstPage  Год назад +1

      Thanks for watching! I have seen the foiled again edition - I have been tempted - but it's got quite heavy paper and cover which means it won't age quickly. Might still have to get them though because they look amazing.

    • @darthblade2016
      @darthblade2016 Год назад +1

      @@BlankFirstPage The paper inside is standard Field Notes paper, but I can confirm that the cover is quite thick. I just started a new notebook in a foiled again version and I'll have to try to remember to message u after I have tried it for a couple weeks to see if it is wearing in at all. I think u might right though...

    • @darthblade2016
      @darthblade2016 11 месяцев назад +1

      @@BlankFirstPage After almost 3 weeks of use, I am here to confirm that ur initial suspicion was correct, the Foiled Again notebook does not weather like the standard kraft paper covers. Some areas of the foil have rubbed, giving it a neat, worn look, but the cover is still as sturdy as when I started. It has bends and creases from being in the pocket, but not even the edges or spine have really softened. I love the notebook, just may not be to your preference. The Heartland edition i just received today is very cool, but u would probably like the Birch Bark edition. Very simple, minimalist design with graph paper lines that match the staple colors. Very well done

      @darthblade2016 thanks for letting me know! I am in love with the Heartland artwork, I am definitely going to order those when they become available in the EU. I had been wondering about the Bitch Bark, covers look a little thick but I might check them out too.

      If you've got a Muji store around you (they've also got online stores depending on which country you live in) they make some of the best value for money notebooks around. They've got a passport sized, stitched notebook that's under US$2. You can't beat it for quality vs. cost.
