She got inspiration to try from Otep, her talent is her own, credit where credit is due.
The thing I love about Tatiana is that she can do it all, she can growl deeper then most of the guys. She has a smooth voice like a Jazz singer and can hit all the high notes with no problem. Jinjer is progressive metal and also incorporates reggae. They are never predictable or boring. A Jinjer song is like a thrill ride, you never know where it's going to take you.
Yeah, that's absolutely true about not being a boring journey. I couldn't find anything to listen to after Tool for a long time until I found out about Jinjer. It was instant love. It's stunning.

The funny thing is that this video was never intended to show Tatiana's vocal skills, it was shot to showcase the drummer - who had joined the band recently - and to show how much better the new arrangement of the song sounded with him. However, when reaction channels discovered it, the spotlight rapidly shifted to Tatiana and the video's popularity skyrocketed, catapulting the band's career into the international Metal scene. 🙂
3:57 - Of course they are acting like that's no big deal! Except for the drummer, they had been playing together for 6 years at the time this video was shot and all the 3 musicians are very familiar with those types of vocals. 😉

@@GreatNastyNatethey just got done with a massive US tour. They're getting ready to go in the studio and record, then they should be out on the road again. This year they opened for Disturbed, and at the same time they headlined their own tour of smaller venues. I recommend the smaller venues. I've seen a couple of those in the last year, and they are not to be missed!
Great reaction! No worries, lol. Tatiana shocks most people. Hence why this is the starting song for reactions. Jinjer is extremely technical and balanced. But I always appreciate it when someone can recognize talent even if the sound is not for them. Jinjer is progressive metalcore/groove metal. Tati uses primarily a false chord growl which gives it the depth but is not actually loud as you can see her "eating" the mic, (excluding her fry scream at the end). Be sure to check out "Perennial" live at Wacken, "Judgement and Punishment" one take, and "Teacher, Teacher". Hope to see more

I saw Jinjer this past July. They opened for Disturbed…I have to say this band was awesome. She has such great stage presence…and a phenomenal voice.
I loved your analysis of this band and your open mindedness. I am 60 , my son got me to listen and we had a blast at that concert.
Jinjer is the Band, and the members are: Tatiana "Tati" (vocals/lyricist); Roman (guitar); Eugene (bass); Vladi (drums/main musical composer). They are from the Eastern Region of Ukraine (Donetsk) and have been displaced since the Russians invaded in 2014. The band was started in 2009, but they consider 2010 their "beginning" since that's when Tati and Roman joined the band. Most commonly the genre Jinjer seems to fall into is Groove Metal and/or Progressive Groove Metal. However, Jinjer really has a style and sound all their own. The best description I've ever heard is "Jinjer doing Jinjer things. Tati uses what she calls "extreme" vocals, sometimes calls "growls." I encourage you to listen to more and discover just how phenomenal they are! Recommended follow-up songs:

She is one of the most talented singers in modern music, she is one of the very few that can actually do screams and most can't switch between a head voice and screams an fast and easily as she does

Melodic Distortion vocals is what you like i.e. A mix of cleans/screams/growls in the vocal track. The song Pisces revolves around the symbol of Pisces (Two sides of the same fish) hence the clean vocals and the distorted vocals. =) Hope this helps.

Very good reaction.. anytime it's a person's first introduction to this band they are shocked... But about 99% of the people end up getting hooked on this band. Also I believe that Tatiana joined the band in 2010... This band has to be one of the hardest working band currently.. and she has been singing like this all these years night after night. Tatyana has mastered this style of singing ❤

It's all about false vocal cords. The actual vocal cords are basically open, like they are when you whisper. Then the false volcal cords are brought to resonate.

I haven't seen where anybody has explained "how" yet, so I'll give it a shot. Tati is a master of false fold screaming. When you use false fold singing or screaming, you're making noise by forcing air between the false vocal folds located just above your true vocal cords. You can damage your vocal cords if you don't know how to do it properly, but like I said, Tati is the goat.
