You are the first vid I’ve seen do the install solo. I’m debating if I should do it solo or hire it done on my ‘70 GMC. I’m lucky in that there is a guy that stops by the local Chevy dealer, that installs every Wednesday for a reasonable price. The windshield in my parts truck is still good, no cracks. So I’d take that to the installer and just pay him to put it in. It would be less than the cost of the glass alone. Take him and his son less than an hour total time to install.
You’re supposed to use silicone spray bro, I’m a glass guy I’ve been doing it a long time im 39 years old but I’ve been going to my uncles glass shop since I was a kid around 7 years old to help out & by the time I was 15 I was out installing glass by myself no driver’s license or nothing out there driving around installing glass lol, I’ve been doing it my whole life, these C10 truck windshields are a pain in the butt man
Did you install the chrome before you installed the windshield your supposed to put it all together than install it, just sit it flat in the pinch well & start roping it in from drivers side start pulling the rope down rope in the bottom 1st & slap & hook it as you go
This is actually my 2nd attempt. My first windshield I was almost done and I pressed to hard on the outside and shattered the glass. I nearly sold the truck haha
I get these windshields on the cheap, I started my own auto glass business 5 years ago & I get these windshields anywhere from $30-$60 depends on what warehouse I get it from

@@ffarmchicken if you can pay someone else to do it right I would highly suggest doing that. Installing the solo was extremely hard and frustrating
Dude that's wild I broke mine in the same spot but on drivers side 😂👍👍👍
I nearly sold the truck when I broke the first one lol
Good job, especially installing it by yourself.
It was probably the hardest thing to do on a truck
Mine '72 leaks and fills up my glovebox every time it rains, did you ever need to caulk yours?
I have not driven it in the rain before. I still need to fix the wipers and the doors

I guess I did it the extreme hard way lol
Way to overcome, I know that felt good to get done.

No chrome on this truck
I feel like it was just as hard for me to watch this video as it was for you to install that windshield........
This whole process what hard. I would not suggest installing a windshield yourself unless you know what you are doing. It was very difficult
Oh you got the rubber without the chrome that’s a lot easier without the chrome
