    This couldn't have been better timing for me! This is right where I'm at working on my 65 C-20. Perfect! I just need to order the parts from you and those two tools now.

      Excellent! Tools can be found at Harbor Freight or any good Auto Parts Store. They will likely be with the Auto Glass Tools. Parts wise, give us a call at 800-977-2767 or go online www.brotherstrucks.com to order and we'll get them on the way!

      @@BROTHERSTruckPartsTV What do you call the tool with the hook? And, is that plastic spatula made for this application, or just a general tool? I need to do this, too, and want to have the right tools, on hand.

      @@toddrobbins311 Both tools are automotive glass tools. Commonly available at a local auto parts store, Harbor Freight or if necessary Amazon. They often come in sets with 2-3 other similar tools.

    You made it look easy, no so much on a truck that has been outside most of it's 50 years. Mine didn't come close to looking as good as yours did. I'm just going to retry again tomorrow and leave one door with the old worn seals for now.

    Just let folks know who maybe doing both doors at the same time. Mark & tag left and right. I fixed a guys 68 who had ease rolling down, but hard going up. A good visual instruction lead me to call & ask more questions. With new glass felts fully seated, I oblonged the bottom holes to allow more room. A little touch on bare metal, and became a little better, but harder than should be. I pulled the regulators out to look at all 3 rollers and cranked by hand in my lap. I found the spring was super clean but I dawn on me, they where on backwards. These are helpers to lift the window. Looking identical, I swapped spring from right to left. Made all the difference. I am a big believer of magnets for parts like bolts, nuts or screws, long term, get a box or two of zip bags, drop a note inside for location/part, but place all into one tote or box. It will help in the long run of keeping you vintage steel & iron on the road. The hardest part of and restoration, it putting it together. Know one wants to spend an hour to find fasteners for a 15 job. Just thinking out loud. ASE Master Retired

      Sometimes when we make a how-to video we have to work with what we've got, even if the truck doesn't really need it. These seals we're only about a year old.

    we replaced all window seals etc. and your videos were a big help- but now when window is rolled up halfway we get a loud squeaking noise - he lubricated all the gears and stuff inside and still making noise - our Chevy C10 door is not quite open like yours to be able to see what is going on inside- any thoughts and suggestions on this please?

      What is keeping it from rolling down? It should be tight like new, but not at all restrictive.

    Is adhesive only applied to the anterior channel guide?

      We typically recommend applying adhesive to all the soft felt channels.

    • @BROTHERSTruckPartsTV
      @BROTHERSTruckPartsTV  2 года назад +1

      You need to use some baby powder on the channel to get it to slide in past the glass with the vent installed. It will work, just takes some patience.

    Do Brothers sell all the hardware as a kit? screws etc?

  • @StrawIsEpic
    @StrawIsEpic 5 месяцев назад

    I hope someone can help me here. I ordered the kit and have all of the pieces I need to replace. In my window track I had a metal ribbed channel behind where the old felt was. Does this stay in there? I can't find anything like it or see it in this video. Other examples of this seem to show smooth spaces for it to slide into

  • @peterfahey8764

    I’ve done all this but for some reason the window presses hard against the vent channel while rolling up to the point I can’t roll it up. And disconnects from the mechanism on the way down. Any advice on what may be happening?
    And how to fix it?
    I’ve tried to fix it too many times.
    Help please

    • @BROTHERSTruckPartsTV
      @BROTHERSTruckPartsTV  4 года назад +3

      Something is out of adjustment or broken. Is this happening on both doors? With the channels in place there shouldn't even be enough front to rear movement to allow the glass to come out. Call our customer Service guys at 800-977-2767 and let's see if we can help you sort that out.
