Went to my doctor for a regular check up. Told him I started taking 10,000 IU's of vitamin D for the past 6 weeks. He totally freaked out, told me to stop taking vitamin D supplements and sent me for vitamin D blood test. Never heard back from my doctor about the results, so I called my doctors office and my vitamin d levels are with in normal range.

I had really bad mental struggles, was diagnosed with depression, had panic attacks and tons of anxiety. Went to “specialists”, even a UC professor, only to get another round of antidepressants or anti anxiety meds, that made me more sick with side effects. I got to the point that I thought I was possessed, it wasn’t me, but someone else living in my body. Messed up big time. One day I went to my GP to have a TB clearance signed, to participate in school activities as chaperone. GP wasn’t there, so I saw a nurse practitioner. She looked at my health history and was really surprised at amount of psycho meds I was on. We spoke, and she mentioned that long time ago, when she was fresh out of school, she used to work in rural clinic, and learned a lot from doctor working there. She said the the first thing the good doctor would do if there was any psychological problems is to check Vit. D levels! She ordered it checked for me, and guess what, IT WAS ALMOST TO ZERO LEVEL. She prescribed 50,000 units to be taken once a week, after 3! weeks I was myself again, and after two months I forgot that I had any mental issues.

I had seen way too many people with broken hips after starting taking it. Instead, I started giving her 10,000 of D3 among other supplements and thank God she is still ok. No fractures. I have been living with rheumatoid arthritis for 22 years. Was initially diagnosed with lupus at the age of 23, and just found out in March of 2023 that I actually have RA. Long story short, my new rheumatologist wanted to take me off plaquenil and put me on methotrexate or a biologic. I told her I wasn’t ready to make that switch. Went home, got rid of gluten, started intermittent fasting and increased my vitamin D from 2000 iu to 4000 iu. I noticed an immediate reduction of flares. However, she advised me to go back down to 3000 iu. When I did that, the pain came back so I increased it back to 4000 iu. After a few months. I reached out to her to let her know that I would not take the methotrexate or biologics and that I was no longer having flares after increasing my vitamin D. I was even able to stop smoking weed that I had been using to manage my pain and informed her of that as well. She literally did not even respond to me but I could see she read the message. I guess some doctors don’t like when patients refuse their toxic medications. Smh.

Perfect timing! My family has a history of early death from heart/circulatory issues. My Aunt died of Lupus, my mother also had symptoms of Lupus. All my family are slender and active, athletic people. I couldn’t understand the family health issue. We are descendent of Swedish , Dutch , German, Scottish ancestry. So a few years ago, I researched and stumbled upon vitamin D deficiency from these areas of the World
I immediately started supplementing with 2,000 units of vitamin D. Recently I have been feeling very fatigued; joint inflammation, brain fog, depression. Thinking that I may also be a Lupus sufferer, I changed my diet and increased the vitamin D to 10,000 units. I went in for blood testing and an ANA test. The Dr told me to stop all vitamin D as my test result was too high.
I was really opposed to stopping the vitamin D completely but also worried about giving myself vit D toxicity. So I started a 1,000 unit dose that included vit K . I felt much better on the 10,000 unit dose. I also started Nattokinase.
Thank you for this video, as the information I could find on vit D dosage was confusing with no real guidelines depending upon the source. I want to return to the higher dose and feel more inclined to do so now.
I hope you understand how important your efforts are to so many people. We are the mercy of a rigged healthcare system but your guidance can be lifesaving. I want to be proactive but without the proper information available, it is a daunting task.
    Thank you.

Yes of course, enjoy life whenever possible. Eating well is the issue...We've been
living under layers and layers of myth about healthy eating. Our diet "science" has
been comprimised and corrupted since corporations got involved with food
production, pharmaceuticals, and the AMA. The SAD or Standard American Diet
has been proven to be the cause of most disease, but the pressure applied by
these "institutions" to ignore this money making model of crisis creation and
solution management is so entrenched over the generations that it has become
much more of a belief based religion than fact based science. Just look around,
Do you see a healthy, vibrant society? Are we getting healthier and smarter or
is the opposite the case? It is not easy to go against this mass delusion, you
will be attacked , shunned, and even made somehow responsible for all this
suffering. Krishnamurti once said," It is no measure of health to be well

doctors are actually deliberately taught in med school to downplay vitamins because it is not in the interest of bigPharmaProfits to have people making themselves healthy by merely keeping their vits optimum by their own efforts. I debated extra vitamin C with one third/fourth year med student who told me straight from his lecture notes, quite correctly, that excess vitamin C is eliminated by the kidneys in 30 minutes. So I pointed out that the cells that required the extra (eg, healing from wounds, surgery, infection, etc), then had 30 minutes in which to acquire it from the bloodstream, which is plenty of time, so then he just shut up.

Great video Dr Berg. On the genetics, there was a study before covid, that was ongoing just before covid broke out, the preliminary results of the study were showing vitamin D plus Zinc act as the auto correct for our DNA ar cell division.
Also, the studies showing vitamin D working with vitamin K2 did wonders for clearing artial calcification.
Also, the studies showing zinc keep the vitamin D receptors open to vitamin D during viral infections, actually blocking viral loads from cells, so vitamin D could enter.
Since it takes 2 to 3 days to convert D3 to D, if it's not being diverted to storage, 10,000iu, plus appropriate amounts of K2 and zinc, is probably the absolute minnimum. Any less is probably worthless.

    I’m a doctor for 15 years plus.
I had a few (3) patients who were taking 5000 iu vitamin d3 over the counter.
Their vitamin d levels were 120-130 (elevated) and were all hypercalcemic (elevated serum calcium).
I would say just be careful by checking every 2-3 months because everyone’s absorption is different. Vitamin d is fat soluble, it is very difficult to get rid of.

That's true. A few years ago I started taking vitamin D3 and in about 6 months it made me extremely sick. I wasn't sure what was going on. I finally found a Dr. to take blood work and he said my vitamin D was at a toxic level. It took a couple months to feel better. I don't remember how much I was taking everyday. It was either 5,000 or 10,000iu's. I wish I new why that happened with me. I didn't take anything else with it and now I'm scared to take it at all.

My urologist said this is not uncommon in kidney stone formers.

But we're told by some doctors and nutritionists that synthetic D3 is not well regulated like the natural sulfated form produced by the body from the sun. I have seen xrays showing major calcification of tissues even with K2 when using high doses of synthetic D3 for years, and we're talking only 5 or 10K IU from what I'm hearing. Also, too much D3 can bring down other essential minerals so they must all be in balance (must be taken with magnesium and potassium). So it's great to ramp up on it but to cut back after your levels are good. Other nutritionists say the safest form of D (other than the sun) is from cod liver oil which contains the sulfated form of D which the body can regulate, plus it has other essential vitamins like A and E. Please do a video on synthetic vs sulfated vitamin D.

Sad but true. Doctors seem to follow a protocol for each illness which may or may not pertain to you and evidently stop their research after they graduate medical school. If they payed more attention to their patients and kept up with latest findings they may learn something NEW. Also the structure of clinics seems to be to get patients in and out in 5 minutes. You spend more time with the tech before the doctor enters the room. No one pays attention to your history of illness those pages of info you have to fill in when you first go to a clinic. That's just CYA stuff. But the saddest thing that I observe is many doctors don't examine or observe for diagnosis anymore. As Dr Berg points out. The color and condition of your skin, hair, nails hands and feet, your stance etc can give so much info about your health. I've had doctors who use their computers during examination with a patient barely lift their eyes from the keyboard while diagnosing. I did have one call me back and advise me recently. A rare bird. I tried to call and thank her. She was concerned and very helpful. A rare bird today.

@@bazosmarek7981From my research I would consider 150ng/ml (equals 375) as upper limit. I think the consensus amongst experts is that under that level toxicity is rarely seen. Obviously everybody responds a bit differently. Personally I strive to be within 80 - 100 ng/ml (200 - 250 nmol/L)

VitD level was 20 March 8, 2023. Started taking 2000IU daily. (Doc said 1000). VitD level was 39 June 6, 2023. Im outside a lot too. I also take Magnesium every other day and B Complex everyday. October 2023 Vit D dropped to 37. Doc says its fine. I upped my daily dose to 5000iu now. Retesting in 3 months
Edit: Jan 2024 it went to 51. I dropped back to 2000iu/day.

I took 200'000 IU (D3) multiple times and never had an issue. I take magnesium citrate and k2 (mk7) with it.

They say magnessium glycinate is best for d3.

@@naughtyrocks2425 magnesium glycinate is just best overall. Very easy on the stomach and CHEAP.

Glycinate, Malate and Taurate are three good options that are affordable (I currently take one of each daily). Taurate's a bit more expensive than the other two, but emerging longevity research indicates it might be the superior form as it has a lot of benefits on its own beyond just making the magnesium absorbable. I will probably switch entirely to Taurate moving forward.

I was prescribed this high dose for low vitamin D. I ended up getting a horrible rash on my chest and urinary pain problems for a couple years. It was horrible! Luckily it faded away but anytime I take a vitamin D it will still flare up!

Im glad you are talking about Vit D and I am constantly telling people how important it is and that they need to know their levels. No one does. I keep harping on it LOL :( But I could not take 10,000 IU personally. I cant even take 5, 000 IUs. For some reason despite having the gene VDR-taq, I still make a lot of Vit D anytime I am in the sun at all and I have darker skin also. It will be between 70-90 ng/ml just from a little bit of sun exposure, not taking it at all. I do live in an area where I can get enough from the sun, many people do not. I do take a small dose when I am not in the sun as much. My husband is in the sun the same amount of time and he doesnt make much at all, he has to take 5,000 IUs every day to maintain just above 50 ng/ml level. I even checked my active Vit D level once just to make sure it was okay, and it was.

My mother is a heart patient and suffered a heart attack in 2004. She is 65 years old, what would be the recommended dose for Vitamin D3 and K2 for her? I would appreciate our advice. Thank you!

I was taking 40,000 is of D3 a day, for months.
When I finally had my D levels checked the lab came back and said they were in the ‘normal’ range.

Hi Dr.Berg...I want to invite your attention regarding the link between hypothyroidism and Vitamin D3.I had hypothyroidism and was taking 25mcg daily. Then one doctor recommended me to take a very high dose of Vitamin D once week for 8 weeks followed by 8 months....Now I have recovered from my hypothyroidism and do not take any tablets for TSH...so please do research on this too....

Some people do not absorb D3 easily . Through years of 6 month blood test I found I had to take 10,000 IU just to get to a neutral amount for my body .
