few yrs back I had to fix a small round dent on my es335 near the bottom horn when my drummer tossed my Zippo back at me. It's an antique vintage burst, like this LP, so it came out clean after steam, fill and buffing. But, I occasionally remind my drummer of it whenever he behaves like an arse
If anyone wants to know how to get a better control over drop filling with a pipette like you see here. You bite the tip of the pipette and gently pull and stretch it. The end will become thinner and then you just take a razor and slice off the part you bite shut and you have a more precise way of drop filling.
Hah, I'll admit I vacuum a few guitars that are in one of those multi-stand racks. One is in a bag, two are already very beat up, and one is an Ibanez S with an absolutely bulletproof finish.
I put a little grain steaming rig together from the steamer pipe on my espresso machine and some silicone fish tank tubing. I've raised dents on a rosewood fretboard and a Gibson SG body. Luckily not a fancy finished one but one of those open pore finishes. I've been watching closely all your finish repairs as I've got an Ibanez RG to do, with a major Ding on a corner-edge of it's body.
Addressing the 'no rules, just guidelines' aspect of electric guitar parameters per this featured Les Paul guitar-shaped object, could you tell us, oh, David, what's up with stop-bar tailpiece height (adjustment) off the body? It's known that the string angle requires clearance (Clarance) from the horizontal screw-heads of minimal air (common paper is the 'feeler guage') such they no touch the screw heads, [or ABR-1 channel], BUT, (and, it's a big but), is there more discernable tunable resonant vibration relative, to, OR , based on the/ that distance off the body ? Am I asking a Knucklehead question? Or, THE knucklehead question? Thanks
"That means pirates use it!" This is what I love about DWOFS; I learn something new with every episode...😉
Close to the Edge, down by the river...YES ... Love it, Dave!
I’ve seen this steam trick used on bare wood, but never with a finished surface.
Looks nice.
Solo has a wait list for the pickup height tool. YAY!
She’s a beauty! ❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉 GREAT JOB DAVE! PRO LEVEL REPAIR. 😊😊😊

Your drummer tried to relic it for you free of charge. Companies charge the price of a vehicle for it now. 😊
@@SirSneakerPimp my drummer tried to be a idiot, which he achieved :)

Time for a new drummer.
Nice work Canuck. A man of many skills. Peace, be kind. Seasons will pass us by.
I inherited a “wheel of death” from my father thankful for it but yes those pads are incredible
Arts and crafts Saturday!

*Dave the Save* strikes again! Nice work!
Damn the AI bots Dave!😊 my mum knocked over my acoustic on its stand once. Hoover junior mark is still there 42 years later 😂
Super helpful - didn’t know this could be done!
Glad you liked it!

You’re a doctor at heart.
I was this many years old when I found out that pirates use lacquer 🤷♂️. Who knew?

Used to steam dents out of rifle stocks, but did it with a much larger soldering iron. Worked quite well.
Can it remove a ding from edge of rosewood board?
beautiful guitar, nice repair and quick setup and restring.
Les Paul broke his arm😊 Wrecked him? Dam near kilt him. ❤ You Dave and your infinite wisdom 🎉
Pirates also use Drano, iodine, and Easy Off oven cleaner.
I Love and Learn from every one of your Videos Dave . I hope everything is going great with you . 🎸
Thanks so much!
Nice work Dave.
Good job Dave!
Dave please let me know when you get the pickup tool in for sale.
Gibson probably charged for this. It's called patina!
Gonna get me a pickup height tool so I can quit busting David’s stones.
nice job . . but aren't people paying big money for those dents and what not? lol
The Jeff Healey playing position!
Don’t worry about Sandwich hour. @#$f happens, not your fault.✌️
Thoroughly enjoyed this Dave, but it would have been nice to see a photo of the dent in the guitar after you fixed it.
Rock on
Don't look you won't see it..play the fukin thing
@@DavesWorldofFunStuff I just wanted to admire your handiwork. I wasn't going to critique it
Great video.
The down side of owning a pristine guitar.
Howdy Dave.
Oh my. PS I have a dent in my forehead I'm gonna try this
I do too lol. Beer bottle didn’t break.
if it smells like chicken, you're doing it wrong!
After almost 50 years my wife knows to just ignore my guitars and amps. Because it's an addiction. She'd never take a vacuum near them.
Same here, she hates them. Says she wishes I would play her as much .
She’s a beauty 🎸

People pay five times as much to have a "relic'd" guitar.
Swear to god why worry about dents dings and chips. Its what happens. Just never take it out the case if you dont want it marked.
Don't fix it, it's MOJO. It's a tone dent. If anything add more dents!
Burst
so you Goudy the Gooch .. got it...
