I've loved ZZ Top for so long I have them on cassette tape 😂 I've passed that love on to my kids and grandkids. They are the best wake up music on a 20 hour straight through drive
Loved them from the first time I heard them! I've seen them live 4 times over the years beginning in the 70's. Still got my old vinyl records! They put on an awesome show. RIP Dusty Hill
This was from their 8th studio album from 1983. There was some controversy and ownership problems with this album. Billy Gibbons was leading the band away from their boogie and blues rock to new wave/Synthesizer rock. He changed the album to increased tempo, used more synthesizer and drum machines. In 1986 Hudson won a lawsuit which established himself as composer of "Thug" Regardless it's a great album with that great sound and the ZZ TOP rockin appeal. Great reaction Harri. Thanks Harri and Rob.Cheers from Canada. 🇨🇦
I have to admit that I think this is the first time I've heard this song and it's great. So funky, almost fusion. Love it! Saw them live in June & they did a hot show.
This album was so big after release that I heard all songs without buying the cassette. I have to ask...have you heard "TV Dinners"? It is definitely a hidden gem.
I have to say that I wasn't a big ZZ Top fan for years, due to my lack of listening to their music. I had them pegged completely differently and look at what I missed out on. Thanks for showing me the light.
Cynthia, funny story. ZZ Top wasn't high on my radar either. However, when I went back and looked at all the concerts I went to, guess what band/artist I saw live the most? Yep, ZZ Top. They came to Knoxville about every year. I saw them five times back in my heyday.
@@Imadrummin I think I probably heard one song and thought they were heavy metal and that isn’t something I was into. But I found out differently. I’ve got a couple of other bands I thought that about also.
Yo, there's an electric jug in the mix! Makes sense--the Moving Sidewalks (early band for ZZ Top members) were friends with the 13th Floor Elevators who pioneered psychedelic rock and the electric jug.
Funk, Boogie, Blues all in one nice package. ZZ TOP
The boys from Texas are legendary
I’m Bad I’m Nationwide is one I would love to see your reaction to. Great tune!

For sure! They always awake me while driving at night😂
The music perfectly matches the title of the track/song, "Thug" it sounds menacing. Brilliant, Loved it, and your reaction.
Love it haven't heard this in years so damn funky
I just love ZZ Top. All of their songs seem to be so different in some ways. 💞
this has been my favorite song for 20 yrs mate
Rly. Love it as well🥰
Badass song!!!! Great pick Rob. Harri, believe me...I understand your excitement for ZZ Top. One of the best bands to come out of Texas.

As a bassist... love the slap and pulck... my 23 yr old bassist kid hates how I drive this... its like, kid, live in the 80's lol!
This is a great deep cut from the Eliminator album, check out TV Dinners or I Got the Six for two more.🔥🤘🏻🎧
R.I.P. Dusty Hill
TV Dinners is another of my favorites, and I had a hard time choosing between it and Thug. I'll request it eventually if no one beats me to it.
@@robtaylor5550 Awesome, I love ZZ Top, was lucky enough to see them live 4 times
Takes me back to my childhood rhe best years

My only complaint about zz top is it needs to be a little bit louder.
I would say, they are perfect👌😌 1❤
Eliminator was a great album. Love ZZ top. Frank Beard is a literal Metrodome machine.
Blistering pick, Rob! Harri, you will really enjoy delving into ZZ Top.
Heaven is ZZ Top & Jeff Beck covering "16 tons"
Your mind is an encyclopedia of music knowledge Harri.

@@Cynthia...Yeah, there have been some bands I scratched off too early only to find out later just how good they really were. Right there with ya. 👍
Has to be one of my favorite albums from the 80's Perhaps check out TV Dinner next.
You should see them performing at the 1885 Hill Valley Festival in Back to the Future III >~_^< They play a wicked country dance tune!

Check out their song " I need you Tonight ." One of their best , older blues style .
Like a lot of their songs. Can't believe this is the first time I'm hearing this one.
Hi Mr. Harri, U listen to a lot of covers.. 1983 "Walking On Sunshine" by Katrina And The Waves,
a very happy upbeat song.. ♠W.G.
I like that fat, slapping, bass guitar. 🎸🎸🎸🎶🎶
You should do a deep dive on ZZ Top.
Check out Adrien Belews big electric cat. Has that drum beat with a fuzzy guitar. Very Cool
Rough Boy?
Yeah, also a great number. 🎶🎶🎶🎸🎸🎸
Check out snappy kakkie its pretty cool too
I can not find any live performance of this? does anyone know where one is?
and its nothing like Katrina and the waves mate
And nothing like walking on sunshine at all
Never listen to their mtv stuff, maybe I should
ZZ Top does NOT lift anything. EVER.
