I was there that ole ole ole ole madness madness went on for a good 5 mins....The band were in awe..... they didn't realise just how popular they really were and more importantly how loved they were. If you are working class and between the age 40/45 it was madness. Just madness. A very very special band. The moon stomping by the crowd at this gig caused an earthquake. Nuff said. A great gig and I'm proud to have gone
This was the first time the band had attempted to play this song live, no mean feat, as the studio production on it has everything bar the kitchen sink thrown in. And trying to replicate it live even in 1992 must have been a nightmare.
What happened was: Mike's keyboards (or rather his sampler) malfunctioned so, rather than explain what had happened, or even try to play the song without the sampled backing vocals, they messed around and aggravated the audience in a vain attempt to cover it up. "Get on with it!" indeed.
