A very minor detail missing clipped off from the end of the original video is the caption 'Madness support Greenpeace' hence the songs meaning and title 'Wings of a Dove'. If memory serves me I think was a benefit and proceeds went to the organisation.
Love the guys looking up while shading their eyes - refers back to British airline adverts (BOAC?) from the 1950s/60s when air travel was becoming more available but was still really exciting!
Which almost certainly makes it their most expensive video, as they look like they were all done for about 400 bucks! ;) Personally, I'm waiting for, Driving In My Car, as afaik, it's the only time Terry Hall ever smiled on camera!
@@Sandy-dd4le The director of their filmclips was somehow roped into doing The Cure's Hanging Garden clip - which Robert Smith hated, because it wasn't really tonally in the right ballpark. lol.
Wow! That song's been off my 📡 literally for decades! 😯 And sorry to hear about the unpleasant weather there! 😏 It's the last day of Summer here in NZ (by calendar) and I've just come back home from a nice walk in the sunsine, including an ice cream break 😋🍦 😊
This one reminds of "Uncle Sam " Things went a little bit dark between the two singles" wings " in 83 uncle Sam 85 they always knew how to liven things up
Strawberry switchblade :since yesterday. There's an interesting song to react too. The girls are from Scotland my home country . they were a mix of goth and early Madonna and Cyndi pauper. This song charted at number 5 in the UK and was popular in Europe and Japan. Girls everywhere copied the look
Woo hoo snow angels!! I do like a bit of Madness, video is as crazy as ever, they do always bring a smile to your face. Great reaction, nice to see you are smiling and forgetting about the snow. Cool song😁 If you like steel drums you should check out CoCo by The Sweet from before their crazy Glam Rock days.
Yeah "Coco " I have that single from 1971 never gets the recognition it deserves. A band that was thwart with problems but my goodness knew how to Rock and Roll
You can keep the snow. It's cold here in the N.W of england, no snow thankfully, getting colder next wk but we should miss the snow. thankfully. Like Madness.
I was a big Madness fan, but absolutely hated this track when I first heard it. Luckily I gave it another chance, then one more, and eventually came round to really liking it. On the 12" vinyl version, on the inner part of the vinyl, the words "Look up at the rooftops...at the arse of a crow" were faintly scratched into it. They tend to be only known for "House of Fun" in the USA, but had a string of hits in the UK, and were one of the biggest bands in the country at their peak. I see you've reacted to some of their earlier stuff though.
Yep ! Im having a Monday Moment on a tuesday ! This is just not very Madness ! but it aint bad ! But you have to give it a whirl ! Quick request in case its on a list for a rainy day ! Even though its not raining !! "Wishbone Ash " > Throw Down the Sword ! "Rory Gallagher " > Shin Kicker ! Live Cheers !!
Oh, Rory Gallagher! Yes, definitely! Routinely referred to now as, "the greatest guitarist you've never heard of", Rory was truly incredible.... And a friend of Alex Lifeson if that sways either of the Hanier Family! Any Rory really has to be live, it's where he did his thing best.
@@Sandy-dd4le Yes ! Total Genius of Rory G I think a concentrated nagging campaign is in order ! Play "Rory Gallargher "or we will taunt you a second time !!! Ha
I don't drink anymore. Just tired. And actually eager to hear this song. I knew the chorus from a movie I saw. 10 Things I Hate About You. I forget the scene, sorry. But, I knew it was going to be high energy, and boy do I need that today.
I grew up listening to Madness - they are awesome!
Madness always brighten up your day,a godsend in the day!
Madness are a national treasure. Ty x
Got to love Madness, never a dull moment! Don't know how they managed it, but every new release sounded like it'd been around for ages - smiling here.
That's because alot were cover versions
@@tonycrofts7628 Yep, that's what I meant by new releases, I should have made it clearer though, so thank you 👍

Arguably their best video. It's got everything. Th clip of the van was from a French TV commercial, they didn't organise it themselves.

My growing up would have never been the same without the nutty boys. One of there best 👌 ☺️
Madness were always very entertaining with very catchy and well produces songs.
the part in the van reminded me of the video for the Cures Close to You which was very claustrophobic but a good song you may like to check out
We know that one.
Its raining again by madness is a good song for bad weather,
I'm glad you left the start in.
The Sun and the Rain :) Awesome song.
The part with the van, falling to the the ground, was actually a piece of film that the group bought.

and don't Bedders and Woody of Madness play on it? I know they were on some of their songs.

Another one of my brother's favourite songs.
you should pay attention to your brother's musical taste. There's a lot more to Madness than initially meets the eye.

I like Cynthia's expression at 0:07 ! 😄
I cant tell ive been drinking !!
Check out Land Of Hope And Glory Live (Madstock, Finsbury Park). Great performance
Great reaction 👍
Next week - ~Boomtown Rats - I don't like Mondays.
That is such a great song. We know it quite well, though.
The movie was “10 things i hate about you!”
Yes. We remembered a short time later. We love that movie.
i love a liar hahaha, he hated it lol
Was it my favourite Madness song? No. But I did not hate it. Madness is one of my favourite bands since we started this channel.
Hello. If you like a fun madness song and video check out Shut Up a classic. Thanks!
I absolutely adore Madness, although i find this to be one of their weaker efforts!
